Belgrieve’s return to Turnera has been marked by many brushes with larger-than-life figures, including a legendary adventurer, an elven princess, and a mysterious foundling with mystical powers. In the midst of all of this, Belgrieve is forced to confront old, unresolved feelings about his past that have smoldered within him since his adventuring days came to an end so long ago.
Meanwhile, after resuming her adventuring life in the big city, Angeline has done her father the dubious service of seeking out prospective brides for him (to no avail). But her planned return to her home town (with new friends in tow) is thwarted by a surprise summons from the archduke seeking to unify the region. The sudden imposition naturally enrages her, but what awaits her is a fated encounter!
Angeline wants to return home for the winter, but is forced to go to the archduke to gain a reward. Meanwhile, Belgrieve is forced to confront his old life as an adventurer and decides to deal with old regrets. The two storylines come together unexpectedly for all involved.
The main plot progresses along slowly, but we also get to see a bit of Belgrieve's life as an adventurer. Much like earlier volumes we get a wholesome at times funny story with likeable characters and a larger story taking place in the background. Little gets resolved in this volume though and the action is minimal. All in all, a good read along the same vein as earlier volumes.
Audio: 5 Stars Amazing job with the 300 different voices!
Story: I wish Japanese manga writers would stop creating ridiculous characters with exaggerated behaviors, clinginess and psycho personalities are not ok. With the exception of the creepy behavior from the daughter, the story is fun and interesting and a great balance of slice of life and adventure. Better than the anime for sure. Onto my next adventure, Happy Readings!!!
