To fight the darkness
Plenty of action in this one. With Akira taking on the alpha of the Gargantua Werewolves, Bea finds herself struggling against the ever weakening psychic bunny like entity that works for the Vampire God. The truth of the black armored warrior helping Akira and Mina after they arrived in Siberia is exposed as she talks with the injured Tatiana after Akira put her down for a moment before he had to refocus on the Alpha. In the mean time Bea does some soul searching as she wants to believe in those closest to her but is scared of further betrayal by those hiding truths from her. After dealing with the Vampire God's minions we see a little breakaway on what is happening in the Bund in the mean time through the eyes of an awkward Vlogger and we get to see Clan Li is not just sitting on their hands as an ambush surprises everyone after their various battles. Also a return of a familiar face from the past welcomes Mina as she finds herself among some less than friendly folks after the ambush.
One of my favorite characters has got to be that blonde Gargantua Werewolf that helped Yuuhi in the past and ends up helping the pups again in this volume earning him a place among the crew after the whole ordeal. However Bea might not be too happy about it considering the wolfman seems to have eyes for the very girly Yuuhi even as she realizes she also has feelings for him. :)

A well-paced conclusion to Yuuhi and Phoebe's Ritual Ordeal (where there was more werewolf focus). The focus then shifts back to the vampire end, with Mina and Akira's continuing battle against perpetual nemesis Katie Morris. Also contains an unexpected interlude focused on an amateur vlogger setting foot in the Bund and witnessing what's become of it (with all of his viewers commenting in real time). Not as intense as the previous volume but setting up for something bigger. Staying tuned for Vol. 7!

The sixth book in the series continues the beautiful but violent artwork. It also deftly advances character development as it also advances the plot. I enjoy these books for the reasons cited in previous reviews and recommend it to any who share my fascination with this story.
