wonderful at times...a very interesting stories, but depiction of indigenous people ranges from archetype to stereotype.

Beautifully written. Elegant prose. I can't recall the last time a novel has moved me so much. I finished it 4 days ago & I'm still thinking about it. Afro-Caribbean culture, customs, and beliefs come to life in this vividly fascinating novel.
