The goddess won. Bringing chaos into the fallen king’s life that he never saw coming. He lost everything.
His power. His kingdom. And his queen.
All vanished right in front of his eyes. But he has never been the one who accepts failure and will dance to the goddess’s tune.
It’s time for the king to rise up and get back what has been his since the beginning. She will see what true power a king can hold and will make her crumble into pieces, shattering her pride and power.
This is the time for redemption.
The battle may have been won but the war has just begun.
Shanjida Nusrath Ali, bestselling Bangladeshi dark romance author of "The Devil Tainted Us" and "Syncopating Hearts", writes dark romances that explore the seductive world of gothic castles and the dangerous secrets of mafia crime lords.
With a BA in English and Humanities, she thrives on storytelling. Off the page, she dances to Bollywood music, sketches her morally grey characters, and brings a vibrant charm to life; proving that even in darkness, there's room for art, music, and mischief.
The conclusion to a very twisty unusual love triangle. In book one I was all for Max and Rhea, hey what can I say I love a baddie. The author did a great job setting the scene and pulling me towards a couple I wasn't that keen on. I loved the character dynamics and the part each one had to play in the storyline. The story is sometimes scary, it started off slow but when the pace picked up it kept me guessing with all the twists and new revelations. I felt the eventual conclusion a bit rushed and would have like to know more about Rhea's future.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the second book in the Bitter Love Duet. You have to read Kingdom of Sinners or you will be lost. We all know since we have already read the first book that it ends on a huge cliffhanger. Gosh I think I learned way more about the Rhea than I ever thought I would and learned that the woman is a really messed up person. And I didn't like her. Everything that has ever happened to her she has blamed on his sister. It doesn't matter who did it or what it was it in her mind is somehow her sisters fault. I needed to know what was going to happen next so I was glad to have this book in my hands. After all I loved Elysha and Max and he is going to fight back and reclaim his position and all that he has lost and I was so ready for it. I love how determined he was and always did what he set out to do. I loved that about him in face. However, I do have to say that he was going on mission impossible and i just couldn't see a way that that could be done. Did he do it? Well you have to ride this book out with all its twists and turns to the very end to see. I sure can't tell you.
OMG! That was one hell of an intense, action packed and utterly emotional conclusion. The story starts right where book one left off and I was instantly reminded about why and how the first book broke me and left me a shattered mess! And I am once again a heartbroken and emotional mess! I am not sure how much more I could take and this story really put my heart and mind through the ringer. I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through with my heart ready to give out at any given moment.
There is a whole lot to unpack in this story, tons of secrets, betrayal and painful past memories that had me gasping for breath and shaking with anger. It was one hell of an emotional rollercoaster ride that had me guessing on how it could possibly have a satisfying ending.
The things that Maxwell and Elysha go through in order to get their happy ever after was the ultimate test to their strength as a couple and to their ability to lead as King and Queen. Rhea will take them to the edge of what they can endure, she will test them at every moment and she will try to destroy them at every turn. But the bond that Maxwell and Elysha have, even though it gets pulled to its limit, will not break and becomes stronger in the end.
Brilliantly written conclusion that had my heart continually in a vice with tears dripping off my chin! Filled with action, suspense, violence, drama, pain, anger, passion and love, it kept me gripping my kindle tightly and clutching my chest right to the very end.
This amazing author poured every emotion into this story, and gave us one hell of an intense but absolutely perfect ending!
Oy, Rhea is something else, as she's only out for revenge & really messed up to be honest. Her driving force was against her sister, and it didn't matter if said sister did anything directly or not, in Rhea's mind, it was all her fault. Oh, and you must read Kingdom of Sinners (Book 1) FIRST since it's a duet. Max was caught in the crossfire of this revenge & has been stripped of everything, but he's determined to get his life back, however, it's an uphill battle against Rhea, and frankly, I wasn't sure how the hell this author could make things right. There are so many twists & turns coming in hot with Max's journey that your heart will be in your throat the whole way, and I was on the edge of my seat because I just didn't see a way out for the strong as hell Max. I will be rereading this duet again in the future, and I cannot wait for more by this author & HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
The prologue sets the tone. Maxwell and Elysha along with Rhea are in for the fight of theirs lives, literally. There are feelings of anger, vengeance, realization, pain, passion. Promises to get back what was lost. Twists, action, brief loss, and healing. The conclusion from Kingdom of Sinners. Page turner and glad I got to read it.

This story continues on from book 1, Kingdom of Sinners, where that intense cliffhanger left us dangling. The goddess sure did win in book 1 and how she is one extremely disturbed person. Yes, there are reasons behind everything everyone does, but for Rhea, she has stockpiled every tiny or big thing that happened to her and basically blamed her sister. I couldn’t like her, I tried and to be honest I felt sorry for her but we didn’t gel. Elysha? Now she was a totally different story, I loved her character and thought she and Max were perfect together.
Maxwell promises himself that he will fight back and win, he will reclaim his position and everything he lost. But you can’t reclaim a dead loved one! Max is one extremely tough, determined man and when he sets his mind on something, he usually succeeds. I had my doubts though as to how the author could create the solution for him to achieve this feat. I am always blown away by how authors can wrangle their characters and ideas and ‘bam!’ resolution in hand.
This story has quite a few twists and turns that take you by surprise. There is lots of action, drama, and excitement too. I also thoroughly enjoyed the epilogues. I really enjoyed the whole duet.
Whoa … what a great book this was!! I couldn’t put it down with all of the twist and turns. I absolutely adored Maxwell and Elysha. I love how Elysha makes him a better man and how he was willing to give everything up for he. I absolutely hated how her sister betrayed her and blamed her for their moms death and everything that happened to them. This book was so well written. I’m so happy in the end every one got their happily ever after.
I absolutely LOVED this from page one to the end, it had me on the edge of my seat, full of emotions, even tears, sad and happy ones!! Twists and turns, loads of darkness and the UNEXPECTED!!
I am not sure my heart will ever be the same again!
I didn't know if the author could make this second book as good as the first!! But.... she definitely did and I think it was EVEN BETTER!!
The first book Kingdom of Sinners was one of the BEST DARK BOOKS I have READ so this is definitely alongside it.
WELL DONE!! This deserves more than 5 stars!!
I truly love this author's writing style, she used several POV's and she puts bits of the past and seamlessly makes it all flow together!! BRILLIANTLY WRITTEN.
We are not left hanging in this book, like book one, I was quite sad when I got to the end, I felt I needed more.... And I got just that!!
We are even given a full insight into the future with not only an epilogue but also an EXTENDED epilogue.
Does the King get his kingdom back?
Does the King get a Queen!!!!?
You will have to read this amazing book to get the answers..
I definitely can recommend this book and author especially if you like DARK STORIES!!
After Kingdom Of Sinners i started looking forward to more! As soon as this second book was announced i wanted to read it. I picked it up and got right back into the Bitter Love world. I enjoyed it!
After the first installment, i didn't know what all to expect next. I really liked how the ball got rolling from the get go and how i was brought back into this story. Once again, i went through so many emotions from start to finish!
This story and it's characters kept me on my toes, wondering what all was going to happen.
With Kingdom Of Redemption, Shanjida Nusrath Ali has created a good and dark continuation! I'm looking forward to more from this author!
Be sure to read the author's warning.
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Give Me Books Promotions / the author*
I have tried to read this book so many times but the plot is just not interesting. I can’t quite put my finger on it but reading this is like experiencing watching a slow moving train pass by.
The Russian in this book is AWFUL. LIKE TREMENDOUSLY BAD. She uses “Ostovlyat—leave it” in Russian to mean “leave/depart” in English, and “Prochnaya—sturdy” in Russian to mean “vicious” in English????????? Even google translate is better whatever this is. Like seriously 😐.
As for the rest, I stopped reading at 53% because it was simply impossible.
