Kanata and his friends have settled temporarily in the city of Manaloch after freeing it from the clutches of demons. They're trying to create the Blood Ether of the Gods, a powerful potion that Lunaère used as a vital part of Kanata's training. But their work is interrupted when Kanata makes a surprising discovery: another transplant from Japan, the mysterious Kotone, is looking for him. Is she simply hoping to connect to someone from her home world, or does she have something more sinister in mind…?
This book is another amazing continuation of the story. I love how the author brings characters in at the time you are thinking “what about this person”.
This can be a story about misundertandings and contradictions. The author sets traps for the main characters so that they can fall into them and create controversy. Lunaére (Lich) and Kanata love each other but are shy introverts that cannot express their feelings well. Kanata is a "nice guy" that is a "push-over" so he collects a retinue of basket-case girls: Pomera, Phillia, Kotone, Rosemonde, etc. Kanata is non-commital so does not seek authority or recognition (rewards) from all of the "good deeds and acts of valor"... The author is a sadist/sociopathic "puppetmaster" that makes masochistic main characters that suffer, toil, try to overcome unbeatable odds, in a game that changes constantly because the "gods" do not want Kanata, Lunaére and his retinue to win. This story was excellent in the first book and has become this non-commital-convoluted-harem-basket-case-impossible-to-win fantasy novel series... It's a pity because in Book 1, this story had potential, nothing positive remains. The author creates a lot of comedy moments, and at the same time people are dying, tragic deaths, all-around. Again, blood and gore, sociopathic and psychopathic tendencies do not match with comedy and much less with romance. There is nothing I liked about Book 3. I do not recommend this light novel series.
Another good volume in this serie, although is getting a little bit repetitive. The side character are not developed in this story, aside from some geek reference and some fun moments we still don't know anyyhing about Kotone, Pomera or even Lunaere, and this is the 3rd volume. The gods parts tries to be funny, but fails as is hard to understand most of the dialogues, plus the references to streaming and followers are not well executed. Hopefully next volume will bring something new and the side characters will get some deserve time.
I noticed this had not been updated since I finished reading it around Thanksgiving. The book was great as all previous books in the series how can you not love this cast of characters. READ THE SERIES ITS GOOD
The series isn't bad, but it's own premise bites itself in the ass. The MC's strength takes away all the enjoyment out of most fights. Most fights come down to absurdities since the MC can't just die to something normal, so it reads poorly. A manga would be great probably.
The enjoyment lost in the fight is brought back at a fraction of it's potential in the whole "ohh they'll find out how strong the MC REALLY is soon..!" idea. Unfortunately, the author doesn't present these reveals very satisfyingly, and until they do, it will continue to feel like a constant blue-ball.
Lunaere's constant "ohh no i dont want him to see me ahh, ill continue hiding and stalking him !!1!" is annoying as fuck at this point, and the constant usage of misunderstandings to seemingly drag the plot along is grinding to read.
I'll continue the series, but I'll need a break before continuing.

Overall, I think it was a good story. A lot of fighting from start to finish, which was a little different from books 1 & 2. I wish I got to see the team fighting together, the chapters felt pretty separate this time around. Some of the characters were not as utilized as I was hoping they would be
Did I hate this story... No. Was it good...? In some parts. Still, it needed to have some questions answered maybe on the next volume. Am I going to drop it? No. I still think it has more to give us it's just this wasn't the best one but I enjoyed reading it.
