My philosophy in basketball is simple: take your shot. If you miss, take another.

Rinse. Repeat. Win.

But life doesn’t follow that pattern. I took my shot, got married and found success as the GM of the Puget Sound Pilots. And then everything fell apart.
I failed. I lost. I got divorced. I hoped to leave it all behind, burying my past regrets. Promising myself I’d never marry again.

Then the chapter reopens with a tell-all book that highlights my failures.

Sports broadcaster Harper Conrad is the only one in my corner. She wants an exclusive. I give it to her but with two conditions.
#1: Attend a weekend basketball event in Chicago with me and my staff.
#2: And no personal questions.

Will offering this exclusive add another mistake to my growing list? Or will it be the best win of my life?

Note: The Wife Win is book 2 in the Pilots Series, an interconnected basketball sports series. Each book can be read on its own.

Reporting on Big Man

I really like Harper and Marek. There's a bit of an age difference, which I like, and they have really good chemistry and are a bit adventurous in their pursuit to have some stress relief. 🔥 I also like how they approach most things in their lives, especially Harper and how she loves and cares for her family.

Harper Conrad has taken this battered, beaten, and flattened heart of mine and inflated it like a balloon with her presence in my life. Harper has brought joy back into my life. She’s returned what I had once lost. Love, happiness, and a reason to live other than basketball.
-- Marek Talbert

There are a couple of things that I didn't like. As someone who's dealt with the loss of a pregnancy, I felt it was unfair for Marek to shoulder so much of the responsibility for what came next. There are two people directly impacted and to come out healthy on the other side, they need to grieve together and separately but they also need to express their needs. That's not what happened so it's no wonder they didn't successfully overcome that hurdle. Yeah, I get it. Life and fiction aren't always fair but I think that could've been less one-sided in where fingers were pointed in the aftermath.

The other thing that got me was their gaps in communication. Each was quick to jump to conclusions a couple of times. Given the changes Marek was trying to put forth after what happened with Jasmine, it surprised me. I guess it proves he still has flaws and work to do. 🤷

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

"Sports romance novels are my absolute favorite books to read. Something about the athletes ticks all the boxes for me. But every now and then I pick up a book that features someone from the management side and shockingly I love reading them just as much.
I loved how Marek & Harper first meet. Marek comes across as a bit closed off - but he has been burnt badly in the past. Harper slowly breaks down his walls, although to begin with it wasn’t because of any romantic intention. And it was great that they seemed to become at least friends before they took their relationship to the next step. Once again Sierra has brought the steam factor. I thought it seemed to take a bit longer to get to that part that is Sierra’s normal, but when she brought it, well she certainly brought it!!
Great storytelling that Sierra does so well and I look forward to reading her next book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book."

While Marek is certain intriguing and we definitely learn to love him, the draw in this story for me was Harper. Her strength in trying to do everything she can for her family, even if it means that she leaves nothing for herself is absolutely admirable. Add to that, her strength in a field that is most definitely dominated by men (sports reporting) and she becomes my hero. She doesn't let the potential nastiness of elite athletes deter her from her dream. Both Harper and Marek have some past issues to contend with and both will have to learn to trust both themselves and others in order to get to their happily ever after. Sexy and sweet.

When Harper bumped into Marek, all she was looking for was an opportunity to help support her family - and she got that, and so much more!

The Wife Win is truly an incredible story filled with the perfect amount of sweetness, sexiness, and steam that had me hooked right from the start. Loved everything about the journey that both Harper and Marek took to get their unexpected happily ever after.

Seriously, this book is so, so good - you won't be disappointed!!

I spent a good portion of my life playing basketball and it’s still my favorite sport to play and watch, so I was delighted to read a romance book featuring such a marvelous game. It was nice to see Marek and Harper work through their guilt, stress, and miscommunications to find a happy ending. This was my first book by Sierra Hill, and I’ll definitely be looking into her previous work, as there is a woeful lack of basketball romances out there!

Harper Conrad is a go getter, with a career in Sportscasting, she is looking to get a better position to help her sister and her daughters but when she is met with resistance from The GM of The Puget Sound Pilots Marek Talbert she knows that she needs to convince him to give her a chance but what she doesn’t expect who the man really is.
Marek Talbert is a man that lives, breathes and eats Basketball and nothing else is going to change his mind, having been burnt once before but when Harper crosses his path he knows that she has the ability to knock down those walls.
Watching Marek & Harper navigate through the professional and personal sides of their relationship at times can be downright steamy but the respect they have for one another is what is going to hopefully get them to that HEA.

Marek has found success as the General Manager of the Pilots, but he same can’t be said for his personal life. His divorce has left him with trust issues and that is only made worse by the expose his ex has written. All he wants is keep his personal life private and focus on basketball so why can’t he say no when Harper wants an interview?

Harper is a sports reporter who has worked hard to achieve the success she has. For the well being of her family she needs this story from Marek and is determined to convince him to give it to her but she never expected that the biggest challenge would be keeping their relationship strictly professional.

Marek and Harper draw you in as they are both going through a difficult time in their lives as they take us on an emotional journey to overcome the past so that they can have the future they both deserve.

This was a very good romance. Great chemistry and intense attraction are paired with a fun storyline that delivers an abundance of feels. Marek & Harper were easy to like and together they made a one very heart melting, swoon worthy couple. This book sweeps you into a romance that is a delightful way to escape your own reality, but it also has a raw genuineness to it that makes it feel very realistic and relatable. Simply put, it is a great read! This is my objective review that I am posting of my own accord.

A enjoyable basketball romance with a age gap between the main characters. Merek has met his match with Harper . Harper goes after what she wants with all of her heart & doesn't take kindly to the word no. Merek has been raked over the coals so to speak in the relationship game. Harper is just the woman to get Merek to take a chance on love again. I liked how Harper could talk basketball talk just as well as one of the guys so to speak. The book had me sitting in one spot til i finished there magical ending .

The Wife Win by Sierra Hill is the breathe of fresh air I needed in my life! I love how realistic and wholesome her characters are! I can relate to them and empathize as if they were right here!

Harper and Marek’s story is unconventional and I love a twist on the usual tropes! It’s a bit of office romance mixed in with some meet cute and a dash of spice with a whole lot of angst!!

Harper and Marek meet each other during very pivotal times professionally and personally which is why their meeting was almost kismet! It was a bit of a bumpy start but Harper proved her abilities to get the job done and be the picture of professional! Harper took Marek by surprise but he’s an all or nothing man and he takes things very slowly but they also had time to build a friendship and not just jump head first which is what I really loved because when they did jump they were all in!

A very beautiful sports romance from Sierra and one that you will love especially as basketball comes to a close you can still have some of the amazing sport with you in this steamy romance!!

I can’t get over how much I fall into Ms. Hill’s books. They’re sports related which is one of my favorites. And she knows her stuff. Marek and Harper are just what the other needs. I fell hard and fast and couldn’t put this book down!

Loved this story about Marek and Harper. While Harper represents journalists and everything Marek despises about the media, she turns out to be everything he didn’t know he needed. Harper finds a heart of gold and her dreams unfold through Marek and his team. Good chemistry and sizzle throughout the story, too. A great addition to the series and I look forward to the next book.

Marek, GM of a basketball team in Seattle. Heart ok lock down due to a messy divorce.

Harper. A young woman. A reporter needing to make a name for herself so she can get promoted and help her ailing sister.

The women forward positivity in this book was amazing.
The heat. Yesss. More.
The sweet. Unexpectedly perfect.
That ending tho’ loved it!

Highly recommend

I love a good sports Romance and this was my first Basketball one and I loved it. Marek and Harper just fit. You have one GM and a sports reporter and they were ment to be. Of course they have obstacles to overcome but in the end when it's right its right..

Having read The Girlfriend Game last year i was so happy that we were getting more in this world! From the moment this book was announced i started looking forward to it right away! I was so glad that i got to pick up another one of Ms.Hill's books! I started reading it and got back into The Puget Sound Pilots world! I so enjoyed this story!

Harper and Marek's journey was so quick to capture my attention! These two are brought into each other's lives when Harper is a sports broadcaster who wants an interview with Marek the GM of The Puget Sound Pilots basketball team. I couldn't wait to see how things would play out for these two!

I really liked how these two were tackling things in their lives and getting to dig deeper with both of them. I admired Harper's determination and I adored Marek's realness. I really enjoyed how from start to finish i felt all kinds of things with both Harper and Marek! The chemistry between these two was undeniable!

With The Wife Game, Ms.Hill has created such a good sports romance with heart and feels that will pull you in! I can't wait to dive back into The Puget Sound Pilots world with the third installment, The Rival Romeo!

This was an awesome book. I really enjoyed Marek & Harper’s story with their connection, chemistry, and tension. Marek has been hurt in the past and Harper is just trying to support her family. While these two seem to be going in different directions, Marek and Harper are just who the other needs. I thought Ms. Sierra did a fantastic job with this book and I can’t wait for the next one! I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend this book and Ms. Sierra as a wonderful author.

I received a free e-book copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The Wife Win is the second book in Sierra Hill's Puget Sound Pilots series and is Marek and Harper's story.
Harper needs to advance her career and get a bigger pay check to help with her sister's hospital bills and she thinks she has found the perfect way. She just needs to stage a "run in" with the GM of the Puget Sound Pilots Marek Talbert and convince him to give her an exclusive interview. But Marek is notorious for his hatred of the press and is not going to make it easy for her!
After their first run in, Marek is intrigued by Harper and wants to know more about her, but an important meeting pulls him away before he gets the chance. The next day he is thrilled to see Harper again but all that changes when he finds out who she is and what her job is.
Even after finding out that Harper is a journalist he still can't get her out of his head and when he finds out his ex wife is publishing a tell all book about their relationship he decides to give Harper an access all areas pass to him and his organisational as long as she doesn't dig into his personal life.
But spending time together, traveling together and diving deep into his team, makes it hard to deny those sparks that's been there, since they first met and on a trip away they give into those desires and once they cross that line it's hard to stop.
"Harper Conrad has taken this battered, beaten, and flattened heart of mine and inflated it like a balloon with her presence in my life. Harper has brought joy back into my life. She's returned what I had once lost. Love happiness, and a reason to live other than basketball."
So what will happen when Marek finds out the truth about their "run ins" and Harper's reasons why she needed to meet him and will Marek's painful past and his reluctance to start another relationship because of the way his marriage ended be too much to move past?
Read The Wife Win to find out!
I really enjoyed The Wife Win, this is my first book by Sierra Hill and even though The Wife Win is the second book in this series it didn't stop me from being able to enjoy it and it only made me want to go and read the first book and everything else Sierra has written!
I received an arc of The Wife Win and I am voluntarily leaving my review.

Review: 4.25/5 ⭐️
Steam: 2.5/5 🔥

#thewifewin is the all new book from @sierrahillbooks. This is book two in the #pugetsounpilotsseries.

Marek is the youngest GM in basketball. He’s shown how good he is at his job by turning this team into a winning one. He knows that his professional life is constantly under a microscope, but his personal life is off limits. He enjoys his alone time now that he knows what it’s like to be burned by the one you love. He shuts himself off and focuses on work. That’s until a very persistent reporter just can’t seem to go away. Can he allow someone to brake down his walls and learn to trust again or will he find just another person to wrong him?

Harper is already a step behind being a female in a male dominated industry. She has tough skin and is determined to make her mark with exclusives in sports reporting. She needs this break to help her family. But the one man she needs it from adamantly refuses. Until he sees that she’s actually very knowledgeable about the sport and not out for gossip. Can she get the exclusive, make a name for herself and find love with just one shot?

I really liked this book. I felt bad for Marek due to what his ex did to him. People deal with issues in many ways and his was to close down. Since being divorced he lived only for himself. He was a great GM and the man you want your sons to learn from on how to respect women especially in business. Harper is tough as nails and already had to work harder than men in sports reporting. She’s trying to help her sister with life while also advancing her career. She showed Marek that there’s more to her than a pretty face and she was damn good at her job. I loved she never gave up and the relationship that grew between them. Definitely recommended

There are no words to describe how freaking excited I was when I found out that Marek would be getting his own story . From the moment I met him in the girlfriend game there was just something that pulled me to his character so completely pretty much like a magnet . There is just so much more to him than meets the eye . That’s one of the things I loved most about this story . Being privy to seeing all the different layers of his character being peeled back throughout the story . Marek is the general manager of the Puget Sound Pilots Basketball Team and unfortunately has recently gone through a messy divorce.. So the last thing on his mind is a relationship. But unbeknownst to him that is all going to change . And it does From the moment Harper sweeps into his life . She brings out feeling in him he was not expecting to feel Again so soon , especially after being burned . Harper is a sports reporter looking to make a name for herself . She desperately needs to find a way to get into bigger media in order to help her sister pay for Cancer treatments and take care of her nieces . The most unexpected circumstances brings these two together and their journey is truly a emotional rollercoaster . There really are no words to describe all the things I loved so much about this phenomenal book . It’s really something you need to experience for yourself.

Harper and Marek are both involved in the sports world. He is a GM of a professional basketball team and she is a sports reporter trying to get a big story for a much needed promotion.
Marek is very protective of his privacy and image. He was hurt in the past and does not grant in depth interviews outside of basketball. Harper proves to his exception.
This story gives more than romance. It touches on women working in a male dominated world. We get an inside look at a woman trying to make it in sports reporting. The comments, unsolicited attention and assumptions made. Harper learned the hard way to maneuver her way around. Marek proved himself to be a champion of equality in the work place. He stood up for Harper on numerous occasions.
A good story with believable characters. Although this is a sports romance, it could be characters from any walk of life. What Marek and his ex went through is not above fiction. The way Harper had to deal with her work environment is something many go through.
With all that going on, it was easy to see why both were a little insecure. Marek always says “Shoot your shot”. He did, but was a little slow on the follow up. They both had to work through some things to get the HEA they deserved.
Good series that deals with real life situations.

Puget Sound Pilots #2

Harper Conrad lives in Spokane and is a sports reporter but wants to get into a bigger media in Seattle to help her sister pay for her cancer treatments and also to help take care of her nieces. So with the help of her best friend Jade who owns a gym that is used by the GM of the Puget Sound Pilots she "accidentally" runs into Marek.
Marek Talbert used to play basketball but gave it up to be the youngest GM in the league. He doesn't do interviews and his press conferences are usually with a couple of national sport broadcasters so Harper getting an interview isn't going to be easy. Marek is divorced and his ex has written a tell all book about their life and he isn't happy about it. He has no plans to talk about it, and has promised himself not to marry again. His life is building the best team out there.
She has proved her abilities to get her job done, be professional and did a great series on his team. Harper wants an exclusive interview from Marek but he has stipulations of his own.
Can Harper break through Marek's wall's or will he turn her down?

Marek is the GM of the Puget Sound Pilots basketball team, and he really does have a great outlook in life until his life took a downward turn. It's made him close himself off after the failure of his marriage as it did some damage, and the only reason he has another chance at happily after is because the ex is about to release a tell all about their marriage. Harper is a bada** heroine who has taken the hard road in her chosen career as a sports broadcaster as everyone knows it's a male dominated field. She's also doing everything she can to help her family, which is how she ended up pursuing Marek for an exclusive to earn the money to help her sister. Marek has no time for the press, and yet somehow, Harper wore him down but he has some conditions. This was a fantastic story since I LOVED both of these people equally, and cheered them on during their journey. I won't tell you how it all plays out since you'll have more fun just experiencing it for yourselves, but don't start it before bed because it's impossible to put down! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Harper Conrad is a dedicated sports journalist who isn’t afraid to ask the tough questions or venture into the men’s locker room after a game. I love Harper’s dedication to her family, her relentless pursuit of the truth and her desire to be successful in a man’s world. Harper arrived in Seattle where she hoped to secure an interview with the allusive and private Marek Talbert, the GM of the Puget Sound Pilots basketball team. Marek had only been in the position for two years, but he was already wildly successful. He rarely talks to the press except after games where he only answers a few questions. Harper was determined to find a way into his elite circle so she could get the interview that would not only help her career, but more importantly, her family.

The chemistry between Harper and Marek was apparent from the moment they met, but neither of them had time for romance. Harper was dazzled by his sexy smile and brilliant mind and Marek was impressed by her basketball knowledge and positive attitude. Being with Harper was refreshing and life changing, and Marek didn’t know what to do about his feelings for her. Harper would never jeopardize her career for romance, but Marek made her feel special, and she was happy for the first time in a long time. Can Harper and Marek’s relationship survive the pressures of their jobs, or will he need to make the right play to win her heart?

I had the chance to read the upcoming second book in The Pilots basketball series by Sierra Hill. I really enjoyed the first book, The Girlfriend Game and this book was also very good! I really like the authors writing style. The characters are interesting and well developed. This is the story of Pilots GM Marek and journalist Harper. Harper has some family obligations and really needs to get promoted at work to make more money. Marek is the divorced GM who was burned by his ex-wife. Harper thinks and exclusive with Marek will really launch her career. Marek is really anti-press but eventually lets Harper in.

Like I said, I enjoyed this book. I liked the characters..they had a cute relationship and good chemistry. Some good spice too! I also thought it was interesting to read about a GM vs a player. Definitely recommend this book and the series.

This is a five-star read you would happily put a ring on it. This is number two in the Puget Sounds series and I don’t know how I missed it, its been out a while and I loved number one in the series, and was excited for number three, but number two just slipped by me and I am so glad that I realised before the next one drops as my goodness Harper needs you to get to know her and her story, she has a great story to tell, even though she is usually the one telling other peoples stories. I so enjoyed hearing from Marek, as you get to know why he doesn’t like personal questions your heart will break, but he is just such a strong character that he will make you smile through your pain. There is just something about this story that will surprise you and keep you on your toes, its such a great story and I am so excited to hear more about Jade and her new player.

This is the second book in this incredible series, and this is Marek and Harper’s story. Marek is the GM of a successful basketball team, and after a messy divorce, prefers to keep his personal life out of the media. Harper is a sports broadcaster, who works hard in a male dominated world to make something of herself and put her is a better position to help her sister and daughters. Harper is met with resistance at every turn with Marek and is determined to get him to take her seriously. This is a well written story which has trust, communication, secrets, intrigue, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable and steamy page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
