Sebastian Savas and Neely Robson are both architect in the same company. but here the resemblance stops. Neely is more free- spirit to Seb standoffishness. Seb is known as the Iceman. Reserved and self-contained, he always appears composed, almost cold- blooded. Except when he is dealing with Neely. She makes his blood so hot, he can't think straight.
Imagine his chock when he finds himself charing a houseboat with her, a dog, 5 kittens, a guinea pig, a rabbit and a fish.
The attraction is sizzling hot, the banter is witty. Neely is a lovely heroine, but Seb needs to overcome his trust issues before they reach their HEA.

If you can get past the silliness of how Sebastian Savas and Neely Robson are thrown together, you will likely enjoy this low-angst romance.
Sebastian buys a houseboat to escape his penthouse, as a multitude of sisters have moved in, in anticipation of one of the sister's upcoming wedding. He could do without the distraction. However, when he gets to the houseboat, which he knows has a tenant, he discovers the tenant is Neely, a woman he has come up against at work. He's an architect, and she's some sort of designer, and he dismissed her designs. Neely refuses to accept his offer of staying at another of his penthouses, as she has a lease. So the two of them are forced to live together.
Basically, you need to accept that Sebastian will buy a houseboat rather than rent somewhere for a month (he's a billionaire), and that Neely will refuse to live in opulence rent-free for six months.
If you can, this is highly enjoyable. Neely was a highly likable heroine, capably making her way in the world, looking after a cute menagerie of pets. While I didn't like Sebastian's intimations of Neely trading sex for what she wants, he wasn't too much of the arrogant asshat you typically find in this genre. It was clear he loved and cared for his family.
The way his family takes him for granted and his father's selfish absence is a bit of a worry, but the main crux of the story is Sebastian's ability to trust in Neely, even when she's not taking his side. This was conveyed well by their interactions at work, and with his family. I enjoyed Sebastian and Neely as characters. They felt real. I also liked all the supporting characters.
One thing that bothered me is the use of "mistress" in the book's title. It's not as if Sebastian is married. The use of that term, in my opinion, reduces the smart, headstrong and independent character that Neely is.

My first reading trip in 2018 is with Sebastian and Neely in Saves' Defiant Mistress from Be ware of Greeks series
A story about tow colleagues hate each other but also like each other and suddenly they find themselves partners in the same houseboat , in that moment the Magic begins 😍
Lovely story and funny in some points , I enjoyed it more than the others .. it's this kind of books that's easy to spend the time with

Nothing says miscommunication like the hero thinking the heroine is sleeping with her father, am I right?
(And yet, despite that, I really enjoyed this one. The hero is an excellent caretaker, even if he doesn't want to be. And parent-child relationships aren't solved with hugs! I swoon.)

Sebastian Savas is known as the Iceman at work, for his emotionless demeanor and his cool reactions. He's already gone toe-to-toe with Neely Robson and the two clearly don't get along very well. But they end up living together when Sebastian buys her houseboat as a last resort to escaping his family visiting for his sister's wedding. He thinks he can get Neely to move out, but she's determined to stay. So they share space. And eventually more. She soon learns that he's not the Iceman at all - that he feels things deeply, most especially hurt because of his father's rejection of him his whole life. And this is where his issues with trust come in, and Neely isn't sure she can be in a relationship with him when Seb doesn't trust her.
This started out on shaky ground with two characters so at odds with one another I wasn't sure they could like each other. Neely's baiting of Sebastian with her "relationship" with Max was rather immature, but I could see how she'd figure he deserved it. Sebastian was argumentative from the start. But he quickly morphs into a pretty fantastic hero, with a lot of mushy depths that make him the vulnerable hero that he is. Sebastian was all that was wonderful in this story and I wanted to wrap him up in a big hug. It's too bad that Neely forgets that in her selfishness. I mean, she knows he's had a lifetime of issues with trust, so while it's perfectly reasonable to get peeved that a guy doesn't trust you, you give him some time...he's on a learning curve. And maybe she needs to face the fact that not everyone is going to have the perfectly wonderful reunion with their father that she had or that everything can be forgiven at the drop of a hat. But, I was willing to give her a shot. She wasn't so bad and I really liked Sebastian.
Then, there at the end, she pissed me off and the book totally lost me. When Sebastian's entire family basically throws him under the bus for the father who neglected them their whole lives and Sebastian is the one who is hurt by it, she started out great by supporting him. But then along comes his father and does she maintain her anger and stick up for Sebastian? Maybe a bit...she does tell his father what for, but then proceeds to laugh it up with him and have a good time while Sebastian sits stewing. Then later, when Sebastian doubts her defense of him, she gets all upset that he doesn't trust her. Sure, let's not focus on the one who is really hurting here - it's got to be all about her. And I had to side with Sebastian - I could not be THAT friendly, even for appearances sake, with a man who'd so hurt the one I loved. So friendly in fact, that she sits in the car later and tells Sebastian that, "It's hard to hate him (his father)." Yeah. That's why he should trust her. Because she'll sit there while Sebastian is hurting and defend his father to him. Sure, she wants what's best for him, but that's not the way to show loyalty while doing it. Telling him to forgive his father just like that after years of neglect... Then she leaves. She leaves the man who has faced abandonment over and over and over again. That's not too considerate or loving...but it is selfish.
What's worse is that later, Sebastian is the one who has to go to his father - Sebastian is the one who has to take a job for his dad in order to get Neely back. IMHO, his dad should have had to work A LOT harder than just winning over Neely to get Sebastian back. Ugh. That part just disgusted me.
I usually really like this author, but I'm starting to realize that I don't like the way she writes family dynamics. It's super realistic, but there's no closure in it. In one story the dad basically betrays his eldest son and it's never dealt with. In this one, Seb's entire family takes him for granted and doesn't give him the recognition he deserves, basically lauding attention on the one who DOESN'T deserve it and there's absolutely no closure for it. The asshole father who is trying to make amends ends up winning out and doing practically nothing to make up for it (even getting the heroine to argue his case). I'm not sure I appreciate that at all.

Sebastian thought Nelly was seducing his 52 old boss and friend. He bought the boathouse not knowing she lives there. She insisted to stay with her pets, a dog, kittens, guinea pig and rabbits. They argued until 1 day they kissed. She told him Max was her long lost father. She told him no kissing because she didn’t do one night stand. He had trust issues due to his father’s way of direspecting marriage and abandoned him. She helped him with his project and almost sulk when he accused her of failing to persuade their client. She coaxed him with his trouble (annoying clingy sister who got married). She took risk by sleeping with him. At his sister’s wedding, he was mad she sided with her father. He left her for 3 weeks to cool down. But she left the boathouse and gave away her pets except the dog to his sisters and stepmother. She was onto a project of his father. He proposed to her and told her he bought fishes for them to raise along with their future kids. Hehe

This is a category romance that is pretty much exactly what it says on the book jacket. They work together! They hate each other! They love each other! The more obnoxious misunderstandings get cleared up relatively quickly and there are some nice family dynamics - learning to forgive crappy parents and take a risk on love after seeing nothing but bad examples, essentially. Also does a good job of making the hero kind of a jerk while not making him such a jerk that the friction between the couple is overwhelmed by wanting him to all off a bridge and die. Undemanding and pleasant.

When Sebastian Savas has his family descend on him for his eldest sister's wedding he high tails it out and gives the apartment over to them and buys a houseboat off a colleague but he didn't bank on having ANOTHER work colleague as a tenant and a female one he has the hots for at that.
Sparks fly between Neely and Seb as they outwardly seem to loathe each other but though both have issues from their pasts how long can the "hands off" approach last?

Lovely
This is one of the Savas clan (a cousin) stories... Sebastian and Neely are such a fantastic couple. The misunderstandings and miscommunication and the sheer baggage that gets worked through this story caught my heart. The adult content is minimal, but the story just shines.

It started out good enough despite the many cliche and the I got pissed when they fought. First of all, the hero's issue was not totally about her. The timing to accuse and demand sucked. Couldn't she just support and advice without hissing and clawing at every little insincere barb? She had to turn it all about her. I have felt happy, contented and sometimes even sad from book stories but never this kind of mad. She entered the relationship with open eyes. Sebastian was upfront with her,and didn't even force seduce her into it. Then just 4-3days?after she did this. That bothers me the most. I don't think even steady, normal relationships have grounds for the kind of drama she started. Not that S was perfect but she tops all.

I liked this book. What I loved most is that at last I read about e heroine who wasn't afraid to declare her feelings to the hero. Of course he wasn't ready yet to face his own feelings but considering his past I really can understand that. The one thing I didn't like was her running away and then expecting Seb to come running for her. It takes effort from both sides and I shouldn't always be the male who has to chase after his girl.
But all in all a nice read.

I really liked this book. I wasn't a real page-turner, but the story line was good and the emotions came across well. I liked the self-discovery and trust and commitment included. I would read this book again. I would consider it a book to pass the time with. Enjoy
