The hidden truth behind the aggressive Zoble Empire comes to light: behind its human army, a tribe of disguised demons plot world conquest! The sinister Dr. Obami urges the demons to strike against the Idaten while the gods are still complacent. But they had not considered Rin, the oldest and most powerful of the Idaten, who remembers the last war with the demons all too well!
The Zoble empire gathers all of their high power Demons to discuss and initiate a plan on how to deal with the Idaten.
This volume was pretty alright, we got introduced to a bunch of new characters like Nickel, Prontea, and the whole counsel of Demons.
We didn't get too much insight on them, it was kind of the same situation with the last volume where there weren't really enough pages or just enough depth given to the characters.
The fight between Rin and Nickel was pretty interesting, there was more clarity but still much to be desired in terms of choreography.
Still not leaving a lot of room for mystery, or rather not building upon the mystery of things we don't know.
I noticed the panelling was a lot better in this volume, at least in the action sequences, I like the bigger panels that bring good emphasis, and they did a little bit of that here and I really liked that.
Nothing changed much between our normal cast, nothing new with Paula, like, at all, Ysley is still doing know-it-all monologues, and Hayato got clipped so now he has a desire to get stronger, which is actually pretty alright, they just didn't emphasize it enough.
Rin also got to aura farm a little bit in her battle with Nickel, and so far I think she's my favorite character, I just wish she had a little more depth to her.
After setting up the general flavor of each of the two sides, we now see how strong they are. Additionally, there are some mysteries introduced into the setting. I like the way the story introduces this large world and then zooms in on the most important cast. You get a feel that the world exists and is being lived in but we get to skip the boring bits and focus only on the things that matter.
