I’m the inappropriate family member. The middle child, born between two sisters. The favorite uncle (okay, I’m the only uncle, but I’m still the favorite). My family means the world to me. Life is good, simple, and problem free, if not a little lonely. Until I go to work one day to find sleeping beauty in a parking space behind my workshop. She’s gorgeous, but my previous experiences with beautiful women have left an unwelcome mark on me and my family. As I get to know Molly, I’m repeatedly proven wrong. Now I have three problems: I’m her boss, a full decade older than her, and I want her.
Molly
At twenty-six, I’ve lost everything: my family, my home, my job. All I have left is a tub of memories in a hometown that now feels foreign. My family meant the world to me and moving on without them seems impossible. In my grief, I decide to start a new life in a new city, and that’s where I meet Max. When he finds me sleeping in my car, he’s gruff at first, but somehow, I impress him enough that he offers me a job. Max quickly becomes everything I need to survive. But can I convince him to see me as more than just his employee?
This is the second book in the Kisses series, a spin-off from Stolen Kisses. While this is a stand-alone title, we first met Max in Stolen Kisses. For the best reading experience, it is recommended you read Stolen Kisses first; however, it’s not essential for the enjoyment of this story.
Steamy slow-burn age-gap workplace contemporary romance. 1119K+ words. Stand alone. HEA. Recommended for 18+. Tissues required!
Debra St James is an author of spicy, slow-burn contemporary romance that features cinnamon roll heroes who listen to their women’s hearts and their words. She takes her time to weave a detailed tapestry of genuine characters, real-life struggles, love, and romance to create engaging stories that will have you so immersed in the story that you’ll never want to leave. Her stories are always guaranteed to take you on an emotional journey that ultimately ends with a HEA!
Debra loves to read romance. She can often be found with her nose stuck in her iPad, swooning over her latest book boyfriend. She writes part-time from her Perth home, which she shares with Mr. St James and their two sons, whose antics often make her roll her eyes and laugh in equal measure. Debra loves to eat cheese and chocolate (not together), and cheese and chocolate love Debra’s thighs so much, they never want to leave!
I received this book as an ARC and I just had to leave a review as this book really got me.
Max oh my what a gentleman. And who doesn’t love a guy with muscles, tattoos and a family man. Molly had my heart. I felt every emotion she was feeling and I felt like I was on the roller coaster with her. Always putting others first before herself. I thought stolen kisses was my favourite but this one definitely has come up on top. Debra you have definitely out done yourself. This book is amazing and so real, which is why I loved it so much. Can’t wait to see what you bring out next.
Definitely click buy, you will not be disappointed.
I wish I could give this book 10 stars, that is what it deserves!!!! I have fallen in love with Max and Molly, their story is fabulous!!!! There are so many feels that I have after having read this awesome book that I cant put them all into words. I know you will love this story as much as I do. You will get to see some characters from previous books. This just makes the story that much better. You will feel all wrapped up in loving hugs and feel everything right along with them.
I must warn you that before you start to read this you need a comfy chair, your favorite beverage, tissues for the endearing parts, a fan for those steamy sexcapades.
This is a one click book. The characters in this series are phenomenal. This is book 2 in the stolen kisses series.
If you have not read any other books by Debra St. James I highly recommend that you do you wont be disappointed.
Received this book as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this review
Molly has her world shattered and decides to get in her car and go west. Max is going to work and someone is parked in his spot and he looks in the car and is blown away by the beautiful woman sleeping in the car. He wakes her up and after talking he hires her as his office assistant. They are both attracted to each other but Max is her boss and ten years older. Great characters and storyline. Highly recommended Amazing book. I love Max and Molly and the supporting characters were excellent. This is my first book by this author definitely not my last
Moonlit Kisses: Kisses Series (Book 2) by Debra St. James
How much pain, heartache and disappointment can one person truly endure before they completely break? What is it they say? “What doesn’t kill you, it only makes you stronger.” AND STRONG SHE IS.
Molly is compassionate, kind, strong and beautiful in more ways than one. If anyone deserves a break in life … it’s her. With everything life has thrown her way, she still manages to get up, keeps on hoping and searching for the goodness in life.
One day, out of the blue, FATE shows up in the form of beautiful hazel eyes peeping through her car window. Max Oh Max Oh Max ❤️ …. Will he be what Molly needs? Will he be able to shed some light in all the darkness? Will she be the sunshine he’s been waiting for??
You see, Max is a bit of a wild card and chameleon one could say. He is hard working, family oriented, gentle and kind. However, don’t let all that “nice-ness” fool you. He is also totally sexy with tattoo’s in all the right places, protective and has a dirty-talking mouth to boot. Holy Hotness … Max is the package deal! 😉🔥
Max enjoys being around his family. He loves being the “favourite uncle” and a great brother who is protective of his two sisters. Yet, as he gets older, he craves a family of his own. However, coming out of a terrible relationship, Max isn’t looking for anything or anyone at the moment. Yet, the “Man Upstairs” has a different plan for Max.
Truth be told, I have never really enjoyed age-gap romances. Yet, I found myself turning each page to see how this beautiful love story would unfold. I didn’t think I could love any two more than Theo and Emma from “Stolen Kisses.” They were hard to beat. However, Max and Molly are have found a place in my heart!
Max and Molly’s story will take you on a journey of heartache, loss, discoveries, revelations, healing and LOVE. It’s a journey that will keep you turning the pages until the very end. Than you will definitely want more.
Another great book by the talented Debra St James. Congratulations on a job well done.
Book Release June 1, 2022.
**Please Note - I received an advanced copy of this book and I’m leaving an honest and truthful review.
To say Molly has had a hard start to life would be an understatement. Spending the first 11 years of her life homeless, tragedy strikes again and she’s left without a job or home. Living out of her car, she travels to her Mum’s home town and parks for the night behind a garage to sleep safely for the night.
It’s here the next morning that she meets…. Max.
***
Max is a man that doesn’t seem to slow down. From running his garage single-handedly to helping out the disadvantaged in the community with their free repairs. He is a protector through and through. So when he meets Molly sleeping in her car out the back of his garage, he is furious about the condition her car is in while travelling cross country. It’s here that he insists on checking out her car and inadvertently offers her a job. But she’s not telling the whole truth about her situation…
***
I fell so hard for Max and Molly. You can’t help but ache for what Molly has gone through in life. They are both such giving souls even with everything Molly has faced, they really are the perfect match for each other. The spice is off the charts in this one and there’s no miscommunication trope in site! Max is a very very generous man 😜 I spent so much of this book giggling.
Thank you so much for letting me ARC read this beauty in exchange of a honest review. It was amazing to see little bit of Emma and Theo too from Stolen Kisses.
You have to read the bonus epilogue when you’re finished. The title will make so much more sense. 🌙
My favourite quote:
“The way you grew up doesn’t factor into my feelings for you. It has no bearing on how I see you or how much I fucking love you. But it does factor into how much respect I have for you and your mom. Your life could have turned out so differently. You could have turned out so differently, but look at you. You are smart and determined. Strong and fiercely independent. I think you’re one of the kindest, sweetest people I’ve ever met. You give your time to help others because you genuinely want to make their life better.”
WOW......having read all of Debra's work I, like so many was looking forward to immersing myself in the lives of Max & Molly and let me tell you, like always Debra DID NOT disappoint. Right from the beginning you'll be pulled into life altering situations that hit you right in the heart and seep out through your tears (as much as you try to hold them in) The strength that radiates from Molly is uplifting and powerful that you feel it deep in your soul. You'll want to reach out and hug her, even though she'd take a hug she'd just as soon brush off the sadness, smile so big her dimples show and say, "I'm ok". Molly's selflessness is astounding and heartwarming and I think only matched by Max. Max is swoony, magnetic, sexy, strong and just oh so perfect. Max has a heart of gold. He loves deeply and so purely that every chapter you read fills you with more and more love that you're going to feel full to bursting. Everyone should have a person in their life that looks at them the way Max & Molly look at eachother. Reading this journey of two souls that fit together so effortlessly that you'll never question if they were made for eachother because it's just so obvious from their connection that it bursts through the pages, you'll fall in love with everyone and everything. This story had me crying from happiness & sadness It had me laughing and scowling (in bits). It had me swooning and needing a cold shower. I did not want to put this down, and once I finished I wanted to pick it back up and read it all over again because everybody needs a love like Max & Molly's in their life ❤️
I can always count on Ms.St.James to provide me with a story that is romantic, grounded in reality, and teaches me something new about life and the world. Moonlit Kisses is no exception to that rule. Her characters are always fully formed and well rounded; and it seems at least one peripheral character is waving their arms at me saying "tell MY story next!" The book-world and its community are constantly growing and folding back on itself with cameos from earlier books. This time it is Toby Summer and Cassia from "Second Chance Sumner". I just love it when old friends drop in to visit again.
Ms.St.James has a unique ability to introduce various social issues in a way that opens my eyes to the problem, to opportunities to address the issue without distracting from the romance or being condescending to the eeader. Her books are never a waste of time. But they do tend to run on the steamy side of the genre.
I received a Beta/ARC copy of this story directly from the author and voluntarily chose to share my review.
I need the option for more than five stars! Debra St James did not disappoint in her newest novel, and she has once again left me wishing for more...
Max could not be more perfect. - Sexy? - Check. - Tattoos? - Check - Dirty-talker? - CHECK! - Heart of gold? - Double Check! I honestly don't have enough good things to say about him, and listing all his amazing qualities will take up far too much space. Just trust my judgement--the man is ALL kinds of perfect.
And Molly? She is loyal; she is sweet; she is genuine and stunning. Not only does she have a spine of steel and gets through situations that would break other people. Molly does it all with a smile so that no one knows her struggles. She's not bitter, she's not guarded. She is open and giving and an inspiration.
Max & Molly deserve each other a thousand times over, and this story will have you smiling, tearing up and sighing wistfully (and maybe in need of a cold shower - seriously, Max has a mouth on him).
From start to finish, Debra St. James captivated me. Moonlit Kisses is one of her best works yet. Deeply emotional from the beginning lead to healing. Molly's life was nothing short of a struggle. After a massive loss in her life, she packs up to find a new beginning. She is positive and encouraging while dealing with traumatic experiences. Max, the savor, and my new favorite book boyfriend. Max is everything good in this world. Fighting his feelings for his co-worker I was cheering as he gave into sweeping Molly off her feet. Two wonderful characters that deserved the happy ending.
Debra St. James continues to give us a raw but hopeful book that I always make time to binge read. One chapter is never enough! I found myself in tears and then immediately filled with hope. These two aspects are the reason why Debra St. James is on my list of authors that I continue to re-read work for.
*I received an advanced copy of the book from the author and I am leaving an honest review.
It is a beautiful story about learning to trust, finding love and family. About mending two broken hearts. Molly is so strong and independent, yet she learns how to lean on someone. She is a beautiful, giving person. Max has a heart in the right place and would do anything for Molly and for everyone in need. They are perfect for each other. And as much as I don't like endings like this, because I'm a firm believer you can have a HEA without this (not gonna spoil it), it really made a sense here and the circle has been closed. And the spice was 🔥🔥🔥 I would love to have a Max in my life. Yes, there are some things I didn’t like and that felt rushed, "good girl" was used there like hundred times and sometimes it felt too sappy, but since the story was so strong and beautiful I have to give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Debra St. James has done it again! I absolutely fell in love with Max and Molly. I cried as I felt Molly's pain and heart break over and over again, and I smiled as I watched Max come in and pick up the pieces to save her. Tear jerking at times, I loved the rawness and vulnerabilities of these characters. I think my favorite thing about this as a love story was how real the love was through and through. This book was sweet and heart-warming, and suuuuper hot! 🔥A bit of a slow-burn, but once the heat kicked in-wow!! The fire between them was unreal 🔥🥵 Oh and the cameo by a certain someone in the beginning was perfect! Loved it!
I love age gap books and this one was no different- it grabbed you right from the start- maybe cause I am also a middle child- and it did. not. let. go.
I think it took me like 4 hours to go from start to finish and then I was sad it was done.
It is not often a book can you give everything you didn't even know you needed and leave with such a profound feeling of-feeling.
Molly is the best character (female) that I have read in a while and I will go to the mattresses for that. She is- she just is.
Max is a fantastic male character- well developed, written and relatable.
10/10 would read this again- live in this world and will
as always
wait impatiently for the next Debra St. James Book.
Moonlit Kisses is my first book by Debra St. James, an author I follow on social media. It's the second installment of the Kisses series, but worked perfectly well as a standalone novel.
Molly - poor Molly. She is a character who's been through hell and back and starts the story going through even more difficulties (This word being a GROSS understatement), but she's determined to start over. So, she takes what little she has and drives across the country to her mother's hometown.
Discovered sleeping in her car after her first night in town, Max gave her a helping hand by way of a job and then, eventually, a place to live. The chemistry and steam from that point on was... *fans self... simply amazing!
I just loved Max. Loved him!
Once the romance was established, the story took on more of a women's fiction feel to it. I would like to have seen more of the romance itself but it all worked out for Molly, complete with a very happy ending for her and Max!
I enjoyed Debra's writing and definitely want to go back to read book 1 in this series.
I love seeing a strong female main character, but what I love more is a strong woman that allows herself to also be vulnerable. The characters in this story have more depth to them than I feel like most real people do!
Usually I would offer my entire self to Max, but I can’t because I so love Molly’s loyalty and devotion! The ultimate power couple, and an incredible connection that only gets stronger.
Exquisite and well thought out spicy scenes that have me making a bedroom bucket list ;)
If the phrase “good girl” gets your thighs grinding, this is your book!
I received this book as an ARC and I just have to leave a review because I loved this book from start to finish.
Max is such a gentle man with everyone he gets in contact with and the way he is with his sisters kids was one of the best part for me the way he loved Molly no matter he back ground was amazing.
Molly is such a sweet girl and the person she is from the get go had my heart melting for her she has such a good heart no matter what live gave her her love for Max is amazing and they truly desire each other
You will not regret buying a Copy of Moonlit Kisses so Go ahead
ARC Review Absolute perfection! This book touched on a lot of tough topics but the biggest theme of all was love. Love can come at the best of times, the worst of times, and when you least expect it. Max and Molly found their perfect love in each other. Max is definitely my favorite. With the way he stood by Molly to all his sexiness, Max is perfect. Molly has the sweetest heart and a strong spirit. Her journey was hard at times but that never stopped her. Do not wait to read this book!
The words to even start this review are lost on me. I cant say how much I loved this book. There arnt words. This is the first time I'm reading from this author and I am speechless of this story that has unfolded in front of me. I fell in love with Max and Molly's story from the first chapter. And the song that this story is inspired by is amazing. I dont want to give anything away but I can only say that this is a must read. Beautifully written story.
This was a beautiful, sweet, touching and fully sad but joyful book so just from that you know you will get all the feels. Mainly it was a great read and I fully recommend reading Molly & Max journey to love and fighting through pain and just the strength of Molly is amazing I loved them it was steamy as hot damn and that just made it even sweeter. Enjoy peoples dig in it's a beautiful story.
I have very much fallen in love with story, and it has managed to well and truly distracted me from real life, which I definitely needed
Max is both unexpected and just what he should be and Molly is just adorable and an amazingly generous and loving person. They are so right together, and just so scorchingly hot.
This story is absolutely first rate. The author doesn’t just engage the reader but makes you feel apart of the story. You feel like your loving the ups and downs of the characters. I also really like how characters from the other books intertwine with each others stories.I was extremely lucky and was given a advance reader copy. EVERYTHING by this author is a must read.
This was amazing! Such a refreshing read in between a ton of dark I've been reading! Max and Molly were perfect! DEBRA IS A TALENTED WRITER! I didn't think I was going to love this as much as I did but I can't wait to read more from this author! The dynamics of the story were spot on! Amazing amazing amazing! Thank you Debra!
I loved the characters and getting to know them so well. They are just such a wonderful, caring couple. The character development is fantastic, and the story itself is the perfect mix of feel-good and spicy. It’s a perfect read when you want to get swept up in a romantic book!
This book was a well written, heart-rending love story. Max and Molly were romance perfection, and their struggle for their happily ever after dragged me along, kicking and screaming and crying and begging and absolutely loving it.
This book is freaking awesome, a down on her lick heroine who does not lack spirit & strength. a Sexy mechanic hero with a heart of gold. This book is fun, romantic, emotional, engaging and a must read for all lovers of anything Romance
I loved Max and Molly. Their chemistry was amazing. I couldn’t put it down but towards the end I felt like it meandered a lot and could have ended sooner/without some of the details. Overall I did enjoy the story.
Molly and Max's story is one you will still be thinking about long after you turn the last page. Molly is a woman that has been knocked down throughout her life, and even though she has been through more than any one person should she's still compassionate, strong, and kind. Max is a hard working man with a big heart that's protective and as the cherry on top, has a deliciously dirty mouth. Their story will have you completely in your feelings. It's sad but will have you laughing, sweet yet seriously spicy. Once you start you won't want it to end!
In this book, we follow Molly. Molly has been dealt an absolute shit show in life so far - she has lost her family, her job and apartment. Desperate for a change of scenery and a fresh start, Molly travels to the other side of the country.
After watching his sister marry and have children, Max is desperate to settle down and have a family. But he’s skeptical that it’ll ever happen.
One morning, Max finds Molly and offers her an opportunity to get herself back on her feet. She accepts. And through the book we watch Max and Molly fall in love.
The spicy scenes are chefs kiss 😘🤌🏻 And Max has been added to my list of book boyfriends. 😍
Loved Molly and Max story. Molly is such a strong young lady after everything she's been through. So glad she found a 2nd loving family who accepted and loved her unconditionally. Also glad she formed a relationship with her Dad who acted terrible when he found out her Mom was pregnant with her. Also her Grandma is in her life as well. I thought the 1st book was fantastic but this one was just as good. Can't wait to read Sarah's story.
