Birch River Brides #3

The Mayor's Stalked Mail Order Bride

Rate this book
It’s time to start over—and maybe even find love.
As the mayor of Birch River, J.B. White’s life is already secure and settled.
There is just one thing still missing… and that’s someone to share it with.
After a previous experience left him hesitant to let another woman into his life, it takes reassurance from his deputy to convince J.B. to place an advertisement for a mail order bride.
Fiona Alexander has a dream—to perform her singing on a respectable stage.
Yet growing up in her father’s saloon is a far stretch from being the type of venue she longs for.
And along with the usual rowdy crowd she is faced with daily, now Fiona has begun to receive letters from a stalker.
Fiona knows that she needs to escape this life, and when she finds J.B’s advert for a mail order bride, she thinks that maybe this could be her chance.
Fiona is thrilled when she arrives at Birch River—and even more when she meets J.B.
Slowly, she begins to adjust to her life in this new town, which comes with the chance to perform at the local theatre. And as her relationship with J.B. continues to deepen, Fiona begins to relax and think that maybe she has found her place in the world at last.
But when her stalker suddenly resurfaces in Birch River, Fiona must decide if she should trust J.B. with the truth… or risk escaping the threat on her own.
The Mayor's Stalked Mail Order Bride is a breathtaking journey of finding peace in love. Will Fiona ever be able to escape the threat plaguing her? And what will J.B. think when he learns why she married him?

I am a shameless romance addict with no intentions of ever kicking the habit. Growing up I dreamed of entertaining people and taking them on fantastical journeys with my acting abilities, until I came to the realization as a college sophomore that I had none to speak of. Another ten years would pass before I discovered a different means to accomplishing the same dream: writing stories of love and passion for addicts just like me.I have always loved romance stories and I try to tie all the elements I like about them into my writing.

Fiona lives with her father in his saloon. She hates the life there, always having to avoid the men, the smell of stale cigarettes and alcohol. J.B is the mayor of Birch River, has never been married, and lost his family to a terrible accident. He longs to have someone in his life, to build a family, and writes a mail order bride ad, which Fiona answers. Fiona receives a terrible note one night, saying that “you are mine, and I shall come for you soon.” She panics and tells her father. They decide she needs to accept J.B.’s offer, and her father sneaks her onto a train headed from Ohio to Wyoming that night. This is the 3rd in the Birch River Brides series. There is a lot happening in this book, it is never boring. It is an excellent read! Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down.

The Voice of an Angel!
Another nicely told story about the Mail Order Brides in Birch River and this one is for the Mayor, J.B. White whom we met in the previous story when he found himself in a spot of trouble.
Her name is Fiona and she is being stalked. She is the daughter of a Saloon owner and works in the Saloon as a waitress where she also sings to entertain the men.
We again see the kindness and willingness to help of the local Indians and other residents of Birch River.
I've enjoyed this story. It reads easily, is interesting, the characters are well constructed, the world building is good and all of this makes it a book I am happy to recommend.
I read an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) and write my review voluntarily.

The Mayor’s Stalked Bride is the third installment in Amelia Rose’s Birch River Brides series. In it Ms. Rose chronicles the romantic journey of Fiona Alexander and Jacob Brennan “JB” White, the mayor. Fiona’s was raised by her father, who is a saloon owner. This alone is enough for her to be ostracized in their home town. She discovered an ad in the Matrimonial Times and answers it. JB replies and they start to correspond with each other. When Fiona discovers a stalker in her bedroom, her father helps her get away to Birch River. There she meets JB and soon they marry. Will Fiona be free from her stalker? Can JB keep her safe? To find out, you must read this book.

Yet again, Ms. Rose does a remarkable joby with this western mail-order romance. Her utilizes a character-driven plot line and interjects a bit of suspense with Fiona’s stalker. Ms. Rose captures the courage and determination of mail-order brides as they face the uncertainties generated by their decision to marry strangers and start a new life. Ms. Rose does a great job using literary devices such as vivid descriptive language, dual POV, and outstanding dialog, both conversational and internal monologues. Through these devices readers discover the true essences of her lead characters.

What a beautiful story! Let me start by saying I read this as an ARC expecting mistakes and issues. It was well written, beautifully descriptive, had wonderful characters throughout and was a definite page turner. I laughed and cried and cheered and went through so many different emotions before coming to the perfect HEA ending. This is the best book I’ve read by this author to date and that’s saying something. This is a must read for clean romance and great world building. Can be read alone or part of the series.

Fiona must escape her father's saloon as the attention of one of his patrons becomes disturbing. She answers Mayor J. B. White's ad for a mail-order bride and her father helps her on her way to a new and better future. Finally feeling safe, Fiona looks forward to better days and the chance to sing in a more respectful venue. It should be time for them both to have a happily ever after, but when Fiona's stalker reappears they have to fight to save their future. Loved this installment and the lovely world Amelia's built in Birch River.

Book 3 of series see the town mayor engage in Birch Creeks favorite economic town survival plan and good guy hobby, when he invites a young saloon singer to come and marry. The best aspect of this book is learning the mayor's backstop, which is relevant to those who have read other parts of the series. Clean, sweet, series can be done in any order.

Birch River Series as of August 2022...not right on Goodreads
1. The Pastor's Mail Order Surprise
2.The Lonely Sheriff’s Mail Order Bride
3.The Mayor's Stalked Mail Order Bride
4. The Widow’s Mail Order Husband
5. The Doctor’s Mail Order Bride

I really enjoyed this next installment of the Birch River Series. After the last book, I really wanted a story about the mayor. This author made him human, a man that can make mistakes. The characters Amelia Rose creates are realistic and well thought out. I liked the storyline as well. Incorporating the local Sioux tribe and the storyline that follows was great. I look forward to more from this author and this series.

Amelia Rose has again brought us a story with a strong female character that refuses to give up and let life just happen. Mayor J. B. White is unusual in wanting a bride, not to clean and cook, but for companionship. He isn’t expecting trouble but he readily steps up and handles the problem. We have romance, conflict, friendships, and a few twists. I enjoyed this book.

It makes you feel like you know them and are invested in their lives. This is what this author does in every story she writes. Once I start one of her books, I can't put it down.

Very tender love story

I loved the book and story line. My disappointment was the name "Jesus" was used as a curse word. It did nothing to enhance the story line nor the characters of the story.

Nice story with some excitement

Typical of her stories this one has a reason to leave that is different than others and a loving place to go with the group of people in town ready to receive the new bride and help her know she is welcome and needed.
