The book contains 8 chapters with 112 pages. 9 pages in chapter 7 are about Jedediah Smith. I don’t understand why his name is the title of the book.

A history discussing the contributions to the opening of the American West made by mountain men.

Not sure why, because it is an area of history that intrigues me, but the text just didn’t grab me. I did finish the whole book, but it took me 2 weeks rather than reading it all in one sitting.
