And the Greatest of These Is Love

Rate this book
The one thing most needed by everyone is real, caring love. And the source of all love is God, who is Love. His love is available for all of us, but we need to learn to love each other. We are all lonely but we are never alone, for God is our Father and we are His own. 'My verses come to me from the thoughts and feelings of people who write to me, or from conversations I have. They beat to the pulse of theirs and His. I know I cannot make it on my own, so I ask God to take my hand and hold it tight, for I cannot walk alone.

How the world needs love right now. 💔
I previously read a few of Helen Steiner Rice's collections - Somebody Loves You, Always A Springtime, and Showers of Blessings... and even bought a couple for my sister that I liked. So apparently, being on my fourth volume of Rice's poetry, I must really like it. 🤣
HSR uses pretty descriptive words, and you can actually visualize her poetry. This volume has a lot of themed poems- especially Easter and Christmas. 🎄
One poem that really stood out to me was "Keep America in Your Care." Things in the last few months have been getting chaotic generally, so it really resonated with me. 🇺🇸
Another poem I really liked was "Ireland is the Land of Love, Legends, and Laughter." It caught my attention because I'm a part-Irish girl myself. It describes a lot of the beautiful things about Ireland, like the Emerald Isle. I'd also never heard the legend of the saint and the shamrock. 🍀
I really like HSR, and this was a really nice collection of her poems. A few of them I recognized from previous collections- like "Blessings In Disguise Are Often Difficult to Recognize."
I lucked onto this collection at the library book sale...will definitely keep my eye out for more. 📖

This is a beautiful collection of some of the best written poems. I do not know how many cards I have sent that have held one of these poems inside. Helen Steiner Rice's poems are priceless.
