About the author
Nikki Love
2 booksNikki Love is an adventure runner, author, speaker and motivator of dreaming big, taking action and achieving your own extraordinary goals.
Nikki turned 50 in 2017 and decided it was time to take her love for travel, marathon running, and cross-country running to a new level. She is now on a mission to run either across, around, or through as many countries that her feet can take her, bringing as many people as she can along for the run.
Her big adventures include running 63 marathons in 63 days through the UK, a craic of a 750 mile run around Ireland, a runcation through Malta and around Gozo, a jolly jaunt across the Netherlands, and an extremely muddy and cow-pat laden run from the top to the bottom of Wales.
During the UK summer of 2020, Nikki intended to head to the southern hemisphere and run across Australia - unfortunately a world pandemic has put that adventure on temporary hold until 2021. However, as the ever-optimistic-searcher-of-silver-linings, Nikki continues to seek running adventures closer to her UK home and write a few more tales about the time when her head said 'Oooh, I wonder if I can do that ...'

Entertaining, inspirational and a good read
I am not a runner, I have never been a runner, I never will be a runner but I found this book to be entertaining, informative, inspiration and very moving in places. It is an easy read and did keep me wanting to see what happened next, it also brought a tear to my eyes at times. I enjoyed the descriptive writing as it allowed me to visualise the areas being run through and made me want to visit the those various areas. It also made me very much aware of the training, conviction and determination that goes into the preparation of people who take on these extraordinary journeys. As I said I am not a runner and although this book has not inspired me to take up running (there is always a bus passing for me to catch) it has inspired me to push myself in walking further and the number of steps I do daily and I have gone from less than 4000 steps per day to recently hitting 17000 steps per day. I recommend this book not just for those of you who are runners and want to be inspired to take yourselves further but for people like me who are older (69) but can still be inspired to push themselves just a bit further. Thank you Nikki for giving me the determination to go further and well done for what you have achieved and what I am sure you will achieve in the future

In celebration of turning fifty, Nikki Love decided to set the women's UK record for consecutive marathons and run sixty three marathons in sixty three days. She was inspired by Dean Karnazes and Rosie Pope Swale's adventures and wanted to have one of her own.
Although the original itinerary didn't go as planned due to car trouble (Stan the Van) and some other logistics, she still was able to explore the northern and southern most spots and I believe she may have hit the western-most in Wales, but need to brush up on my geography. She also visited some sports of import for her heritage, her own birthplace as well as that of her parents.
Her supporting cast was mainly her partner Sharif who was able to work remotely and serve as her support crew/trip PM, but along her journey she met up with friends, some old and some via social media following her journey which served as a fundraiser for Huntington's.
A nice light read, what you feel like you'd get from talking with a friend rather than reading an indepth running book. Would recommend.

I really enjoyed this book. The most I’ve done is 5 marathons in 5 days. And the thought of doing 63 in 63 days boggles my mind, and I’ve got more than a little dash of crazy in me. The author has a great sense of humor. Thanks Nikki for sharing your adventure. Amazing job there!

I'm always fascinated by stories about people who complete crazy endurance feats. 63 marathons in 63 days fits that description
What I liked about this was honest it was. Short and easy to read!
