This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the second book in A Joint Task Team series. I have read and reviewed the first book in this series before picking this book up. In my opinion I feel that this book would be better if not read as a standalone because there is a lot of back information about the Task Team that was given in the first book that will help you understand what is going on in this book. This book also has some hard to read stuff in it, so if you are a reader that gets triggered please look into triggers before reading this book. I really love the characters in this series, and I really loved being back with these characters. There were a few new characters in this book like Eve, and I also really loved her character. This book was filled with suspense and action with a lot of romance and steamy times mixed in. I loved the ride this book took me on, and the ending was just everything. I love that by the end of this book Eve had all these men wrapped around her fingers. Great read. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Thrilling, heart-pounding romance!
I thought the author set the bar pretty high with the first book in this series, so I'm thrilled to report that this one is just as amazing, if not better. After reading about Adam's shocking revelation in Chasing Grace, I was more than ready to see him fully realize his potential in every way. This book picks up a few weeks after the last book ends, and it does a fantastic job of following up with all the threads left hanging.
We're introduced to Eve in Los Angeles long before she and Adam meet, and it was almost agonizing watching her go through such a traumatic experience, even knowing it wouldn't last. Back at the JTT HQ in Montana, Adam is going through his own troubles figuring out his next move. Finding Eve a few days later completely blew all his plans out of the water, in the most spectacularly romantic way.
This author certainly has her own approach to the typical interconnected standalone format. Of course Gray and Chase are still enjoying their HEA, but if anyone thought that Gray would immediately settle into domestic bliss, then they weren't paying attention. I loved that she's still a force that persistent Chase has to rein in, and his methods are just as steamy as ever. They're not primary characters here, but their roles are significant and I loved getting more of their HEA.
All the chapters are in third-person POV, but the author doesn't limit herself to just the POV of Adam and Eve. We also see things from other characters POV, including Chase and Gray, as well as Grant (still a fascinating character) and one of the villains. This added substantial depth to the story and a little insight into Grant's past and family history.
If the one or two intimately detailed sensual love scenes typical in most romances aren't enough for you, you're in luck here. This author clearly enjoys writing steamy, intense, and exquisitely detailed scenes for her characters and I honestly lost count at how many there were. If you're a pearl-clutcher, this book will make you snap them right off!
In addition to the romance, this story surrounds us with good men doing the right thing, no matter the risk. I adored the way Adam handled Davis, and the way he respected each member of his team. I loved the contributions that Eve made to the team, and how these men all stepped up to protect her without a single question. Eve's effect on Adam and the whole team makes for a truly beautiful HEA.
The portrayal of evil is very realistic in this world; the villains run the range from psychotic to sympathetic to downright diabolical. There is a lot of action on several fronts, moving quickly enough that all the reader can do is hang on for the ride. It may be a minor point, but it also was a delightful bonus to discover that the author and I are on the same side of the Die Hard controversy.
If you like your heroes bossy, possessive, and overprotective while still respecting their sassy warrior princesses, then this is your new favorite author. The book ends with a heart-stopping introduction to the next book, and I honestly can't wait. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I don't even know where to begin. We meet Adam in the first JTT book. There was something mysterious about him. In this book, he's now in charge of the JTT and he's on a mission to find a missing team member and take down a corrupt politician. In comes the heroine Eve. She was held hostage by people she thought she could trust. Adam finds Eve after she escaped and she's hurt really badly. Adam's protective instincts come to life, and he vows to find and put down the people responsible for hurting her. The two of them connect over this sense of justice. The chemistry and heat between Adam and Eve was at an all time high. Both of them work together to stop a serial killer. This book kept me on the edge of my seat!

This follow up to the first book was an entertaining read. It did have a slower start but it sure took off as Adam helped Eve. She was a strong character and he was the expected alpha (hot!) male ;P They had great banter and sizzling chemistry that led to love. I did enjoy getting their back stories but am still wondering about the mystery surrounding the Joint Task Team. That said, there was still plenty of action, suspense and adventure to keep me glued to my reader. There's also a teaser chapter at the end for the next book that has me panting for it to come out ;D

Oh man what a adventure this story has been. I don't know if I would be as strong as Eve with all she is going through. I love the Joint Task Team members . They are one tough group but are also sensitive to each others needs. There may be triggers for sensitive readers. Action, adventure, and a whole lot more that will make you want more of this series. This book was a struggle for me to get through in the beginning. Why? Though the author noted that this could be read as a standalone, it was clear from just the first chapter that there were a LOT of backstories I was missing. The author did try to sum it up a bit but it kind of turned into an info dump for the first few pages which wasn’t very exciting. I will admit that the backstories are slightly less relevant once Adam and Eve meet, but it was a struggle to get there as I felt like I was missing out on a lot.
Along similar lines, there are a ton of major side characters and I had trouble keeping track of them. I think if I had started with Book 1 where maybe they are explained a bit more individually, then perhaps they wouldn’t have been so hard to recognize here. Most of them got explained in three sentences and then you were supposed to be happy with that. It was hard to get to know most of the side characters even though they are important since they’re part of the JTT.
Related to the number of side characters, I really don’t understand why there were other POVs in the beginning; they were distracting! Grace and Chase got their own book—I don’t need to hear from them in this one that’s supposed to be about Eve and Adam. Sure, maybe we learn more about what happens to Grace and Chase in this book, but I don’t think writing from their POV was necessary; we could have observed what happened via Adam and Eve’s own POVs. And I want to be clear that I’m not against multiple POVs, but there are times when it adds to the story (for example I think it was helpful to read a chapter from the judge’s POV), but reading from the POVs of characters who aren’t truly important to the current story was simply distracting. Grant is hung up on Gray? Sure, that’s nice, maybe Eve in her POV notices some lingering glances which gives us a little hint at this future subplot, but I don’t need Grant’s inner monologue when this is not a relevant subplot in this particular book.
Now again, once Eve and Adam finally meet, then the book starts to flow a bit better and we actually get a story that revolves around their relationship! The plot definitely starts to pick up and get interesting, and I was very invested in what was going to happen next, so that was great. I love a good romantic suspense and this definitely fits the bill. Adam and Eve were both decent characters and I did enjoy seeing their relationship grow throughout the story. Adam was pushy at times but I kind of loved it.
There are some nice detailed steamy scenes for those of us who like spice, although it is pretty vanilla. On another note, make sure to read the content advisory in the very beginning for trigger warnings!
Overall, this book was an okay read and I liked the romance aspect of it and Eve’s plot, but there were too many things that were distracting. I can get behind an overarching series plot but this was one where it felt almost impossible to read as a standalone.

Finding Eve is the second book in in A Joint Task Team series by Edith Lalonde. Each book can be read as a standalone in an interconnected series of standalones, but for better enjoyment I recommend starting from beginning, Chasing Grace. This book is a definite 5 star read! The storytelling is powerful, raw, amazing and captivating with so much depth and heart. A super steamy, spicy and fabulous romance, edge of the seat danger, action packed mystery full of unpredictable twists and turns.
I devoured Adam and Eve's story. It was filled with delicious banter, sexual tension, overprotectiveness, dangerous twists and turns that make this love story one wild ride. The tension and chemistry between Adam and Eve is phenomenal. Both have been betrayed in different ways and fighting with the ghosts of their past. They are caught off guard by their attraction yet Adam will do anything to protect Eve and to convince her he’s the family she’s been searching for. They challenge each other. Adam is the definition of broody, jaded, unapproachable and an enigma. Throughout the book his other layers are discovered like his protectiveness and how caring, loving he is, thinking of people he loves especially Eve questioning what loving him might do to her. Eve is determined, sassy, jaded, doesn't know how strong she actually is and doesn't trust easily. While their path to HEA was filled with many obstacles, I loved they didn't give up easily on each other.
If you love bossy, possessive, overprotective, respectful bad boys heroes, sassy, strong, vulnerable heroines, and steamy romance with a side of danger then this book is for you.

A fast-paced, exciting novel that will keep you reading into the night! Second in the series--and I didn't have the opportunity to read the first--it can be read as a standalone. That said, I think it would probably have been better had I read the first. There are a lot of references to the events of previous novel, and there's a secondary storyline that will tie all of the books past and future together.
Adam has reluctantly inherited the leadership of a dark ops task force that is currently in hiding while it regroup after the disastrous mission that took place in the previous novel. Eve (yeah, Adam and Eve) is a Southern California physical therapist who finds herself in a horrible situation and is subsequently on the run. It's a sheer coincidence that she happens to be on the road not far from Adam's group's Montana hideaway at the same time Adam is heading out on his own rogue mission. Adam takes her in, and when he does, he gladly takes on her problems as well.
That doesn't mean that Eve is a passive and helpless victim. She's pretty dynamite herself, and while she finally accepts Adam's group's help, she is determined to do her part. In some novels, that usually means that the heroine makes stupid choices, but not here. Adam and Eve quickly fall in lust and then in love, though they don't share that second L word with each other for most of the book. What they do share is a tremendous amount of honesty. Each seems to know when the other is having thoughts about something and they don't hesitate to ask the other about it. I appreciate that quality because I get tired of the secret keeping that is so common in other stories.
There are a few things that I decided to take with a grain of salt. The type of shenanigans that Eve gets into with Adam when she has certain injuries seem a bit unlikely. There's also the speed with which their relationship progresses. Even in the intense situation they find themselves in, it is only a week, and that's a really small amount of time to feel like you found your soulmate. I'm not typically a fan of instalove, but it's handled really well here. The author doesn't skimp in the plot's development, and the ending didn't feel rushed.
Secondary characters in this book, specifically the members of Adam's team, are pretty wonderful and fun. I would definitely read the next books in the series just to see what happens to this great cast of characters.

So, I read this one as a standalone and while it still read amazingly, it definitely had me glad to have read the first book in the series. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Building up your world and characters in such a way that leaves you wanting to devour every other book that mentions some of them just means you've created a really irresistible world and characters that keep people coming back for more. So I wouldn't consider it absolutely necessary to have to go back and read the first one, but if you're anything like me, you're going to want to.
Adam literally found Eve in a snowbank and the attraction between the two of them is instantaneous. The chemistry is *chef's kiss* and their dialogue with one another had me swooning on several different occasions. Honestly, if the romance between Adam and Eve was the only thing going on, I would have been absolutely okay with that. But there was so much action, suspense, twists, and turns happening that this book is everything you could want and more. There were a few times, I'm pretty sure it had my pulse pounding! And I was honestly loving every second of it.
Adam lives a dangerous life and he goes after the bad guys. This means, he often has the bad guys on his tail as well. Which puts anyone he's close to at risk. But Eve doesn't exactly live a carefree life herself. The whole reason she ended up in that snowbank was because of her own traumatic experience. So I loved the way these two strong and independent characters came together, got to know one another, and allowed themselves not only to lean on someone else but to open their hearts up to that love as well. It made for a truly beautiful and great read. There was the perfect amount of beauty in the chaos.
I think with a series, it can be really hard to gain and keep the momentum of your story. Especially when you had such a great first start as 'Chasing Grace', the first novel in this series. But not only does the momentum not slow down with this second installment, I think it actually continues to build. I am so excited about what Edith Lalonde is going to have for all of us next! This is the second book in the JTT series. As a reader I always want to know if I need to read the previous book before jumping in to another book in the series. You do not need to read the first book to understand the second book. I mean you should because it was freaking awesome, but if you found this book first, read it. The first few chapters alternate between Adam and Eve. With Adam you learn the back story of the first book and how they plan to proceed. With Eve you learn what is going on, and I'm not about to put those spoilers out there. Let's just say that she is a very strong and determined woman, which to win an Alpha of the JTT you have to be. Those men would most likely be board with the damsel in distress or happy little house wife type, they need a challenge.
Without giving too much plot, I'll say that Adam finds eve in a beat up truck stuck in snow, in Montana, she fled California where they really don't need snow tires. She's basically septic from a wound, and is in need of serious medical attention which the JTT can provide.

Black Ops military, alpha men, their strong women plus intrigue
After reading the last book I thought this book would be easy to get into. The last one just caught my imagination immediately. This one was slower in the beginning because the author was filling in the spots not remembered from “Chasing Grace” which caused the book to drag. It would be most beneficial for people who had not read “Chasing” or had forgotten. I admit I needed a little refresher myself, but the story I was looking forward to was about Eve and took a while to begin. The story picked up considerably when Eve Langley was added to the story. From that point on, this book became thrilling and a page-turner.
Eve has been abducted by a psycho but through circumstances meets up with Adam Grayson who is the unofficial and reluctant leader of the JTT (Joint Task Team). She interrupts his one-man scheme which is a blessing. When Adam finds out what happened to Eve, of the beautiful blue eyes, he signed on to help her along with the rest of the JTT guys. Oh. My. Word. I loved the scenes of passion, the snarky banter and the back stories. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through BookSirens. If you like steam with your intrigue, read this book!

Adam has a plan and is set on accomplishing it until he comes across Eve in the snow. Eve has been betrayed and has a single focus getting her through at the moment, she just has to hold on long enough… neither Adam or Eve expected the trajectory due to the conditions of their meeting but can she trust it?
I read this book immediately after finishing the first in the series and my expectations were high. Lalonde didn’t disappoint. Lucky I had nowhere I that I had to be because once I started reading, I couldn’t stop until I got to the final page. Again the suspense kept me totally enthralled in the plot, the pace was exactly what I needed. Unlike other series that often ‘move on’ from previous protagonists or slightly change their characteristics, Edith Lalonde stays refreshingly faithful to the characters from the first text, even features their POV a couple of times. It was also great to see that Adam’s character was fleshed out more in this text, but not altered. I loved reading about Adam and Eve’s romance and am becoming more and more invested with each member of the Joint Task Team, I can’t wait to see what happens next! I loved Adam and Eve's story so much. It had everything I wanted in it, which includes danger and characters who have issues that they find ways to over come or deal with the help of each other. Adam and Eve are both in very difficult situations and end up helping each other. Adam helps Eve solve her problem of who is after her and who was hurting her, and Eve helps Adam find a purpose in life to not needlessly risk his own.
This story has a weird set of view points because it's all in third person but depending on the chapter you're following a different character. Sometimes chapters were following more the moves of Eve or Adam, but they did have chapters that were following the bad guy (won't say who) or another member of the JTT. The chapters that followed the JTT were odd in my opinion because I didn't find them necessary when the book should revolve around Adam and Eve's story and I found those chapters slowed down the story in the beginning and then just didn't add anything at some points in the story. This is the second book in the Joint Task Team (JTT) series. You could read this as a standalone but honestly I think it a series better read in order. The story picks up where book one left off. Each book is one of the JTT members story but there is a secondary story arc that involves the whole team. This is Adam and Eve's story, it's steamy, well written with a plot that pulls you in, I couldn't put this book down. This is Adam and Eve's story so the bulk of it follows them, the author does pop back to other characters. It's done smoothly, I never felt like there was any unnecessary bouncing from character to character and overall think it lends to the better telling of the story. Adam is dealing with a massive amount of guilt and grief from the fallout from book one. Eve has managed to survive and escape a complete nightmare. They feel a pull toward each other but Adam doesn't want to get Eve caught in the mess that is his life. Eve is a wonderful combo of strength and sassiness, just what Adam needs. She could have let what happened to her destroy her but instead she chooses to fight. I loved their story and can't wait for book three.

Book 2 of the Joint Task Team series, and what an amazing read!
After I finished Book 1, I badly wanted to read Adam's story, and Finding Eve didn't disappoint. (Although I must say the MC names, Adam and Eve, did give me a laugh - in the nicest of ways!)
Adam is such a lovable alpha character, and Eve is strong without being bratty...and yes I'm still not a big fan of Gray - but in a way that's a good thing - after all, not every person I meet I like. And so it is that I met Gray in Book 1 and did not like her, loved Chase, met Eve in Book 2 and loved her!
The plot is fast-paced, with not a moment that goes by without some action. In spite of the fast pace of the story, the character development is very well done, including the supporting cast. (Now I want to read each and every person on the team's story...but most of all I can't wait for Grant to find his HEA)
The overarching plot just keeps getting thicker, again in the nicest of ways, with new complications added to the whole thing in this installment also.
All in all, another great read from Edith and a very big thank you for the ARC that I received via Booksirens.

A great group of people:
It would be best to read this in sequence and as part of the series. Even though I had read the first book, it still took me a while to get into this one as I tried to recall what had previously transpired and who all the characters were. It was rather wordy at times and there was more introspection than action, however things sped more during the last 1/4 of the book.
I enjoyed unravelling more of the mystery surrounding the Joint Task Team and the threats that they were facing. Not much progress was made with the main mystery however I still enjoyed the suspense surrounding Eve. I thought Adam and Eve made a good couple even if the choice of their names was a little strange.
Whilst the pacing of this book was quite slow, I am nevertheless very fond of this group and look forward to discovering more about them and the overall danger in upcoming books.

A rollercoaster of adventure and emotion
The beginning of the book took me a while to get through although I had read the first book. I’m not knocking it, I was just a bit confused until I realised that the end of the first book was focused.
Adam has hardened by his life’s experiences, particularly the recent murder of his father. Eve has been held captive and abused by people she considered to be family. Adam comes across her after she escaped and instantly his outlook on life started to change.
While Adam and the rest of JTT are waiting for information about his father’s death, Adam hunts down Eve’s torturers.
Once the story gets going, the pace picks up & the author keeps us guessing. The characters are most definitely flawed (just like real people). There are some surprises as well as stories of resilience.
An entertaining read, an intriguing story and steam.

Another exciting, action-packed outing in the JTT series.
This is a very well written, tightly plotted story that sucked me in and was hard to put down.
The story was a departure from the ‘mission’ the JTT is all about, finding the team licking its wounds and regrouping after the events of the last book, but that brings about the circumstances that brings Eve into Adam’s orbit. Adam, being who he is, her problems become his problems as he slowly gets under the skin of this sassy, fiercely independent woman. We learn a lot more about Adam in this book, major character development from the first book in the series, but this is focused on him and Eve, the traumatic events in her recent past, and their blossoming relationship.
The chemistry between these two is off the charts hot, which leads to some sex scenes that burn up the pages with their intensity.
This series just keeps getting better; the more we get to know the players and the unravelling of the plot in the highest recesses of the US government. Can’t wait for the next one!

(4.5) I was looking forward to this book. The intrigue, suspense, emotions and the secrets that are revealed are all top notch. Edith Lalonde knocks it out of the park with evil perps, high level suspense and surprising twists and reveals. Each character becomes important, has their own uniqueness and worm their way into your heart. The 4.5 is because pages after pages of explicit romance, the quantity. I wanted to be kept enthralled in all the suspense and kept getting pulled out for the extra curricular activity between Adam and Eve. (snorting right along with Grace there). Because JTT (Joint Task Team) have numerous people and issues coming at them I highly recommend reading Chasing Grace, book 1. Yes you can read this as a standalone, but might have a few moments of stress trying to line it all up. I am enthralled with this series and book 3, Saving Summer has my name all over it. An action packed thrill ride featuring a covert black ops team and the woman their leader finds in a blizzard. I love me a sassy FMC and Eve certainly is full of sass. After what occurs to her she still has the resilience to stand up and fight for what she believes in, all while making a certain man fall in love with her and realise there’s more to life than the military. Oh, and the MC’s names are Adam and Eve. That’s too cute🥰🥰
Following on from events in the first book, you could read this as a stand-alone but why deprive yourself the joy of reading an Edith book. I love her writing. She is able to showcase her characters traits so well. I love the found family the JTT members exhibit, as well as welcoming in newcomers. They share a friendship that exudes through the pages, and the cursing shows how comfortable they all are with each other.
Next up is Jamie’s book which I am interested in. I love a good marriage in trouble story, that’s if his wife is his FMC. Mostly though, I’m hanging out for Grants book. Who is going to steal his heart away from Gray?

I liked the story in this novel but the romance for me was just okay. Once Eve wakes up, I felt like she and Adam were just magically in love but there wasn’t enough of what happened to make her feel this way. Then, despite their powerful connection, she continued to talk about having to leave him. Sometimes the dialogue was a bit forced. There are a lot of different characters and some set ups from future books, but I also felt like there were too many POVs. Some of them seemed irrelevant to the story being told in this book (POVs at the beginning of the book). Also, it seemed like it took a really long time for the main characters to meet and begin their story together. For me, this made this book a 3 star. It’s not that I didn’t like it—I did get into it more at about the 50% mark. I received an arc for an honest review.

Firstly, if you are planning to read this book I strongly suggest reading Funding Grace because there is a lot of cross over and this book takes us further with where we ended in book one so keep this in mind before reading.
To see Adam finding his happily ever after with our Physical Therapist eve was so happy to read about and especially while they had such dark pasts with Adam facing loss and eve dealing with her past in an abusive situation and her step brother who suffers from quite a severe paraphilic disorder.
Definitely read the trigger warning before diving in and definitely read book one first to ensure you can follow along with the story line of the guys and what they have been through before sweet eve came along and joined the family.

I continue to be impressed by Edith Lalonde's storytelling abilities. Finding Eve is every bit as intriguing and enthralling as Chasing Grace was. Honestly, I didn't want to put it down until I had read the last page.
In Finding Eve, the JTT sets its sights on a corrupt judge, a deranged kidnapper and a serial killer after Eve Langley is rescued by Adam Grayson in the middle of the Montana wilderness. Haunted by her traumatic ordeal and subsequent escape, Eve slowly heals under Adam's watchful eye and tender care. She's determined to get justice for a madman's other victims and closure for their families but she won't be doing it alone despite what she thinks. It takes a lot of persuasion on Adam's part to convince her that JTT has her back. Being surrounded by the team finally gives her the family she's always dreamed of and the love of her life.

This is the second book in the authors A joint Task Team series and I highly recommend that you read the first book as this picks up where it ended. I struggled at first trying to remember the story line so I went back to read the last chapter.
Adam Grayson is struggling with the betrayal of his teams by the person they all trusted and now is running for president. When he finds a woman in a snowdrift he knows that there's a risk in letting her into his life but she needs him help her survive a monster who's after her.
Eve Langley has escaped a monster who held her in a basement but with the help of the housekeeper she's escaped on the run from the clean up man. It will take Doc and other team members take on a very powerful man who wants her dead because she's not the only one taken by the man just the one who escaped.

In Finding Eve, I had a bit of concentration problem at first with so many names doing so many things. As the story progressed, they all got sorted out and the action was easier to follow.
I may have come in to the series somewhere in the middle, as the characters seem to already be developed. But this is Adam and Eve's story. In working on another case, Adam comes across an injured Eve. Nursing her back to health, the mission Adam had set for himself changes. Eve's problem needs resolving more urgently.
I am sure this series needs to be read in order to avoid confusion as there seems to be an underlying story going on.

A continuation from book one, but can be read alone. (Why would you want to though, this author is so good and writes gripping action/suspense books with romance thrown in!). What was good is that the author includes snippets of catch up of the characters and the time between reading them. This is especially appreciated if you have a time lapse between reading them.
Adam is struggling with his situation of fitting in, the JTT needs a new leader, then we get the deviation from the original plan when Adam runs into Eve. The plan is put on hold while they track her kidnappers.
The awesome writing and plotting is still attention grabbing. However I do wish I could buy a copy that does not have blasphemy.
