Pippa Roscoe writes sexy romances for Harlequin Mills & Boon and loves every happy ending in each of her books. With a major coffee addiction and a mild not-so-secret crisp eating compulsion – she spends her days fantasising about extraordinary romances, exotic locations and true love against all odds.

After graduating with a degree and a masters from Goldsmiths University, Pippa spent four years working on the BBC medical drama Holby City. After switching industries to publishing and spending five years as an editor working with incredible colleagues and inspirational authors, she finally decided to follow her own dream of writing and swapped London for Norfolk.

In her spare time she looks longingly at the countryside which she promises to roam, if she can drag herself away from her computer for long enough. She prefers to write outside in the sunshine, but during the winter is consigned to the kitchen – the warmest room in the cottage!

She can’t remember a time when she wasn’t dreaming about gorgeous brooding alpha heroes and sympathetic innocent heroines. Totally her mother’s fault of course – she gave Pippa her first romance to read at the age of seven! Pippa is inconceivably happy that she gets to share those daydreams with you all.

Second chance romance.
Javier and Emily have been separated for six years. Both successful in their respective businesses.
The two met when they were young, I believe 19 and 21. Whirlwind romance, love and marriage followed. They were madly in love, but lack of communication and priorities caused tension in their marriage. Feeling neglected and distant from her husband Emily decides to leave one day when he was a no show for an important engagement.

Emily receives a phone call that her husband has been in an accident, she immediately flies to Spain to be with him. Javier accident has supposedly left him with amnesia and needs those who he's familiar with caring for him. His wife is who he chooses and definitely not his selfish shrewish mother. Side note here, she's a small part of the story but boy one that just makes your skin crawl. Emily suspects Javier is faking his amnesia, which he is but doesn't let on, but she has no choice really but to stay and help him.

During this time of recovery each is reflecting on their marriage and what went wrong. Emily is determined to have Javier admit he doesn't really have amnesia and possibly discuss a divorce. Javier was going to confess he did not have amnesia and work on their marriage. But when he arrived home from the hospital and found how Emily redecorated their home he decided nope, this was war (she had redone the house with a garish and loud theme).

The two are still very drawn to each other and fight their physical attraction. A confrontation occurs when Emily calls Javier out for not really having amnesia. He confesses and asks if she is willing to give him two weeks to work through their issues and marriage. He tells her that he took his vows seriously and is dedicated to stay married and committed, he does not want a divorce. She is surprised and touched by his continued commitment and agrees to two weeks.

I have to say it was so nice and refreshing to hear that statement from the hero, and that to me makes a hero. And the heroine confessed that she always felt the same about their marriage. But not communicating, neglect and misunderstanding was the culprit to their separation. I do get frustrated with a lot of the couple in romance land with that being their main crutch, "miscommunication or no communication".

They being to open up and share why and what drove them apart. They touch on his evil mother and the effects it had on him and relationships. Emily also opened up about her childhood and how it effected her and left emotional scars. They work through and recommit to each other, but of course there is a little drama at the end that tests them and their love.

All in all this was a nice read. The two had chemistry, sexual tension and some cute sparing and dialogue between them. Writing was okay too good, with some areas that lagged a little.

Another sensual and beautiful story from one of my favourite authors, Pippa Roscoe, this time she has taken me to Spain to meet Javier Casa and his estranged wife Emily, they fell in love married while still young both having had pretty tough childhoods, this did not help their marriage, will they re-unite?

Emily is called back to Spain when Javier is hurt in a car accident she is worried even if she left him six years ago she has never stopped loving him but she is a different person now these last six years she has grown up and has an interior design company that is doing well. Is Javier suffering from amnesia or not?

Javier has never stopped loving Emily and has wanted her back, this just might be the chance he has to re-kindle the passion between them, but he soon learns that although that sensual spark is still there Emily also has things that she wants from their marriage.

This is a story filled with ups and downs as Javier and Emily go head to toe on what they want and try to ignore the sensual pull for as long as they can, their time together soon sees them talking and they realise that there were many things influencing their past, family and workload are a big part of it can they work it out.

I loved this story and highly recommend it especially for romance lovers who enjoy a sensual story that is packed with emotion.

My thanks to the author for my copy to read and review

A car accident brings this already married couple back together along with all the baggage and emotions and issues that need to be communicated and worked upon.

“And that is why I felt alone in this marriage. Because you didn’t include me. You didn’t share things with me—and you were so focused on money and the future that you forgot me and the present.”

After the hero survives his car accident, he fakes amnesia when he sees his wife has returned to check on him. He is determined to get her back and she is determined to finally get a divorce thinking there is no way he’s changed. Emily never for one second believes Javier has amnesia which I thought was such a fun twist on the trope and added to the level of juicy pettiness I love in a Presents/Modern!
“If you think for one second,” she whispered, “that I believe a word of this, you are solely mistaken. And you will regret it.” Drops mic. Struts off! I loved it.

In true Presents fashion, Javier has all the money in the world but none of it matters without Emily. They needed to communicate. Javier needed to see and understand why she left and not make the same mistakes again. Pippa is so good at what she does. I love forced proximity between two people with chemistry and baggie who need to get their crap together and she just does that so well.

5 Stars!

Absolutely adored this little gem from Pippa Roscoe, Javi and Emily's story was exactly what you would expect from a M&B/Hqn title, but I loved the fact that the Amnesia was actually fake and used as a ruse to get Emily back into Javi's life.

Their verbal sparring and revenge jokes against each other were absolutely hilarious too, all the while the heat and emotional aspect with them bubbled along nicely too.

Total winner, I read it in one sitting and I hope that Javier's sister gets her own book in the future too as she held her own secrets that need to be revealed!

2.5 rounding up.

I was really enjoying this until the last 20%. The "resolution" if you even want to call it that left much to be desired. I was on Javier's side up until this point, now I just think Emily deserves better.

This book was basically her wishing he'd chase her and fight for her but somehow ends with her coming back to him and fighting for him

Bonus points: Both MCs were celibate during separation, kept their wedding bands on, no OW/OM drama. I woman throws herself at him in the beginning but he was far from interested and tells her he's married.

I liked it. I absolutely loved that both hero and heroine were celibate for the 6 years they were seperated.
I liked that they met at 19 and 21 and that they didn't have previous relationships affecting them and that it was parental trauma they had to work through.
They were so compatible and I wanted them together from the first. I never felt either one of them deserved better, it felt like they were the best for each other.

I liked the hero alot and how he wasn't ruled by his genitals, that even after 6 years of celibacy he rejects a woman coming onto him and didn't even want to sleep with her. I loved that he was that in love with the heroine and that it wasn't just a matter of his honor, but he really didn't want to sleep with other women.
I liked that even after she left him 6 years previously (not being aware why and his part in it) that he still thought of her as part of his family and didn't like his mother talking badly about her, he never wanted to hurt her or get some kind of revenge against her.

I do wish he had gone after heroine when she left him the second time (he should have the first time as well but then there wouldn't be a story), she had valid desire for him to show her he loved her by chasing after her.

I liked the heroine and how she made a career for herself and didn't turn to another man in the 6 years they were seperated. I was somewhat annoyed she never communicated how she was feeling before she left him (but then there wouldn't be a story), however with both them being so young when they married it makes total sense they didn't know how to communicate and they needed the 6 years to mature.

I really liked them going to war, the pranks and tricks they pulled on each other especially the heroine getting the cat and then hero soon became attached to the cat, even buying books about the breed to understand the cat. P.

* It was so refreshing to not have cruelty between the characters and you could feel they loved each other alot, but had so much to work out in each of their individual childhoods with their mothers and with each other. I loved that neither hero or heroine said horrible things to or about the other (the closest was when heroine in anger almost said the hero was like his mother but stopped herself).

This is my kind of reunion romance. Javier and Emily fell in love and married very young. The love was there, but the maturity they needed wasn't. Javier was still needing to establish his business without relying on family support and Emily was isolated from her friends back in England.

Javier wasn't deliberately neglectful at this point, but he was so focussed on what he needed to do, he wasn't listening to Emily and paying attention to what was happening. When he dismissed something that was important to Emily, involving her own friends, she had enough. So Emily walked away.

Both Javier and Emily have spent the last six years working on building their businesses and growing up.

They are in a better place for a relationship now. Emily's confidence has grown along with her successful design business. Javier is secure in his business.

When an opportunity comes along, with Javier's injury, he grabs at the chance to rebuild something with "the wife he never forgot". Appropriate title thank you very much.

I loved how these two interacted once they were thrown together. Emily is determined not to let Javier walk all over her, especially as she is doubtful about the extent of his amnesia. She tests it every chance she gets with some hilarious results.

This was a nice blend of humour and passion and a touch of angst. I liked that despite their youth, (they still are in their twenties) this time around they show more maturity in their interactions.

The ending was very satisfying, dealing explicitly with the problems that had broken them up in the first place. A lovely story and I hope we see more in this world.

This is a book in The Mills and Boon Modern series and it is Javier and Emily's story. Emily and Javier have history as they both had very difficult childhoods but they met fell in love and married while they were both young which ended in disaster. Emily has her own business as a interior designer but when she gets a call that Javier had been in a car accident and has amnesia she goes to his bedside as she never stopped loving him. When Javier sees Emily he realised how much he still loved her and sees this as his chance to show her how good they still are together and to also find out why she left and too try and get a second chance to be with her but Emily is not the same person that she used to be and she is not only a lot stronger but also will not be manipulated even if the attraction and chemistry between them is still as strong and intense as ever. Emily and Javier must learn to work together, compromise, communicate better and listen to each other if they ever want a second chance of being together and having the happy ending that they both deserve. I really enjoyed reading this book as it had great characters and a storyline that pulled you in and kept your attention throughout and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next and it was so addictive. I recommend you read this book and other's by this author and you will not be disappointed and I can't wait to read more book's in the future.

As always with Harlequins, this was a quick, easy read.
However, it was unusual that Emily saw through his "amnesia" from the start. And yet idiotic that she wasted all that money and created so much ugliness in an attempt to provoke him.

Still, it was interesting that they both felt abandoned and betrayed by the other. As well that both had mommy issues, although very different ones.
On that note, I quite liked that he genuinely made it his mission to fix his marriage even before knowing what broke it and especially after he understood. Liked, too, that he finally opened up to her about his family issues as she did about hers.
Plus, the addition of the cat and how he came to not only tolerate but love her was rather amusing, endearing even.
And despite much being said about their time together before she left him, I wanted more on how they met in the first place, as that was somehow glossed over.

What I loved was that he actually cut his mother out of his life at the end, even though I was left wondering about what exactly happened with his sister.
And speaking of the end, I first thought it ridiculous that he refused to go after her following their fallout again, thereby simply repeating the pattern of six years ago. But his reasoning actually made sense and ultimately worked. He got lucky there.

What followed was a sweet epilogue. It did pique my curiosity about his sister who I thought must get her own story, and while yes, she did, I'm not that interested, especially considering that ridiculous title.

So, ultimately this was a wholesome story but nothing special.

This is a fast-paced, easy quick read that is entertaining, second chance at romance, some drama, great characters and interesting plot that held my attention and kept me turning page after page. Emily has her own interior design company and finds herself back in Spain after being estranged from her husband Javier for six years. Emily and Javier never stopped loving each other. Javier has been hurt in a car accident and he is allegedly suffering from amnesia. Javier wants Emily back in his life; but does Emily want back in Javier’s life. This is Javier’s chance to find out why Emily left him and get a second chance with his estranged wife. Emily has been away for six years and she is not the same Emily; she is much stronger and she wants some from Javier.

Will Emily realize that Javier does not have amnesia, why did Emily leave Javier, what does Emily want from Javier, will Javier give Emily what she wants, is there a second chance at romance, is there an HEA in store for Emily and Javier, will the second time around be better than the first time?

His wife is back…
Can he make sure it’s for good?

When Emily is called to her estranged husband’s bedside after an accident, amnesia is the word on everyone’s lips. But the arrogance in Javier Casas’s powerful gaze tells a different story…

Although Javier may wish he didn’t recall the pain of Emily walking out six years ago, his memory is perfectly intact. And to remind Emily of the connection he’s not ready to forget…not when every heated look makes it clear she still feels it too!

This is your typical Harlequin romance novel, short and to the point, easily read in an hour or two. The plot was easy to follow, with the required misunderstandings, and ultimately, a happy ever after. Wholly predictable, I love these trade romances.

I loved this book! It was hilarious with many LOL moments. After long separation Emily is called to her husband Javier's bedside after he is injured in a crash. Javier decides to fake amnesia so he can reconnect with his wife. Emily isn't stupid and goes out of her way to trick Javier in to admitting his amnesia is fake. Hilarity ensues.

Of course I read the books in the wrong order. Be sure to read, In Bed with Her Billionaire Bodyguard and the final one, Twin Consequences of That Night Enjoying all books by this author at the moment.

This is actually one of my favorite harlequins in a long time.

Javier and Emily are in love and married but he’s gone all the time, and fearing she’s losing her identity, she leaves him.

Obviously it’s super frustrating that they lose SIX YEARS without once talking or addressing their problems?? One conversation would’ve solved it.

I did enjoy that he faked amnesia to get her back into his world, but once again… he never went for her or talked to her?

So I enjoyed their dynamic and how they came back to each other, and I did feel like they had chemistry. Neither of them even contemplated being with anyone else in their time apart!

I can’t decide if I hate the end. They both have abandonment and family trauma and she leaves again, but once again…he doesn’t go after her!! She has to go back and I know she freaked out, but I think he could’ve been the one to go back this time.

Either way, I was happy for them to finally get a HEA.

Javier and Emily have been seperated for 6 years. Since their separation both people have grown as individuals so when Javier and Emily meet up again after he's injured they begin to learn who each other has become. I could understand why both of them acted why they did in the past and felt bad for both of them. I enjoyed reading how they both were better at communicating with each other. The story doesn't have any action or violence. There is some pretty good humor in it mostly coming from Emily. The majority of the story is them working on their reconciliation, with a few bumps in the road. There are a couple of times I wondered if it would all work out and thankfully they do and we get a happily ever after.

Intriguing characters, a powerful backstory and sizzling passion galore! Pippa Roscoe's latest will delight fans of a reunited love when the estranged wife is called to her husbands hospital bedside and drama ensues. I loved them and their story!

Emily is accomplished and sincere, but she has the drama of her past buried beneath the surface and it all comes to a head when she receives the call that her estranged husband is injured and rushes to his bedside.

Javier is self-assured and direct and when he sees the opportunity to keep her around with a little white lie it brings a bit of humor to the storyline.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a reconnection of past love as their baggage is unpacked and hurt and anger are healed as that happily ever after gets closer and closer.

THE WIFE THE SPAINIARD NEVER FORGOT by author Pippa Roscoe is a Harlequin Presents series release for January 2023.

Emily came to her estranged husband’s bedside when she heard he was in an accident. But she was sure he was faking amnesia. Could she prove it?

Javier had the perfect opportunity under the cover of amnesia to find out why she had walked away from him. What would he find?

THE WIFE THE SPAINIARD NEVER FORGOT is a hot sensual romance. Author Pippa Roscoe gave us two beautiful people as hero and heroine in a stunning setting. A touching story full of hope, this book is a pure joy to read. A reader would be hooked by the story as well as the emotions shimmering in this story. Once you start reading this story you would want to finish it to find out the whole tale and how it all ends.

Highly recommended for all readers of romance.

MMC/FMC- Javier and Emily
Genre- Category Romance (Harlequin Presents)
Safety? Y
Heat- I’d say a 3/5.
Triggers- erotic content
Tropes- Fake Amnesia, Second Chance Marriage, Forced Proximity.
Reading modern HP vs old school HP makes me think that the more things change the more they stay the same. The titles are still awful. They have gotten less and less creative, and now they summarize the book premise. Like OS HP, the woman is a little older. The heroes are still stubborn Alphas. There’s not a lot of zexytime scenes, but usually at least one major one. The main difference is in the women, who are usually stronger, with careers and/or lives of their own. I did like that this heroine kept her career even though she compromised on everything else. But this is an average modern HP, without the Over the Top schmaltz that made the old school HPs so fun.

A must read book that will take you on an amazing ride. In what can be considered a monotonous world of romance, Pippa Roscoe brings a fresh, gripping, up intense and at times heartwrenching perspective that is reinvigorating and exhilarating.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to everyone! If you're looking for an easy to follow, hot, steamy, sexy, smooth flowing read that captures your attention from the start. Congratulations my friends you've found it. The characters and scenes are realistic and believable. Twists and turns and unpredictable surprises that kept my eyes on the pages and on the edge of my seat.

In this book the characters Javier and Emily married very young. Javier was busy setting up his company during this time and Emily felt neglected and every time she tried to let Javier know how she felt, she felt ignored. So Emily left and they had been separated six years when Javier had a bad accident. Emily was called to see him and the word Amnesia was tossed around and Javier decided to use that medical condition to his advantage. So Emily decides to move in with Javier and help him. It’s not long before old feelings start to reappear and the attraction between the two is reignited. Great story with humor and some steamy sexy moments.

This book was all over the place, and so were the characters. I couldn't keep the emotions or thoughts straight--and it didn't help that the POV flip-flopped throughout. The characters were one-upping one another, tricking one another, and having internal emotional freakouts that led to immature actions and conversations. This was so confusing and messy that it held no entertainment value. By the end, I just wanted to be done.

The Wife The Spaniard Never Forgot is another emotional and beautifully written romance. Both Javier and Emily are strong and likeable characters and the chemistry and love between leaps of the page and is not in question. Yet it takes honesty, trust and openness to overcome the pain of the past and I loved to get both POVs during the journey. A great HEA for the couple but quite of few teasers for a secondary character who I hope will get her story told soon!.

Emily and Javier marry soon after they met only for him to leave her for long working hours which makes her feel abandoned and alone so she moves back to London and starts her own design business. After six years apart he gets injured and she is summoned to the hospital to care for him as he seems to have amnesia but is actually faking so he can spend time with Emily. They care deeply for each other and once they clear up the misunderstandings between them just maybe they can get things right this time.

Will Javier’s accident be enough to rekindle his marriage?
I fell in love with Emily, the strong female protagonist who walked away from her lonely marriage to Javier to find herself and excelled at it! Yet when Emily receives a call as Javier’s emergency contact, she is on her way to see Javier. I chuckled as Javier sets the stage with his health that Emily calls him on right to his face. Yet the two play house together as Javier recovers, and the sparkle of their former relationship blooms. Is it enough to keep them together? You have to read to find out!

When Emily left Spain six years ago she never thought she'd see Javier again. When he's in a car accident she is notified and goes to the hospital. The doctors say he has amnesia; but Emily is convinced he's lying!

This is such an intense read with heartbreak, missed opportunity, anger at relationships that interfered, long days and hours of seperation and cultural differences. Underlying this is the love, passion and deep need to repair relationship. Told from dual POV reveals intimately their thoughts, feelings and emotions as they explore their relationship. There's a HEA!
