Is there a way to make homeschooling more joyful?

Homeschooling is hard. Laundry piles high on the couch, the toddler empties the bookshelves onto the dining room floor, and in the midst of it all, your thirteen-year-old bursts into tears over the writing assignment yet again. You ask yourself, Is this even worth it?

Oh mama, it is.

Gather: Exploring The Wonder, Wisdom, & Worship of Learning at Home takes you inside the world of nine homeschooling families through the stunning photography of Heather Tully. You will see for yourself that learning by gathering together is the key to efficient homeschooling. Families build relationships, share discoveries, experience joy and wonder, and model lifelong learning.

Authors Heather Tully and Pam Barnhill share their own stories along with inspiration, encouragement, and pages of practical advice to help you make whole-family learning viable in your own homeschool.

You kept them home so you could enjoy their childhood. Don’t miss the chance to share in their education every day.

This book is inspirational and beautiful while still based in reality. It gives practical advice for having a beautiful morning time no matter what type of family you have.

Inspiring, vibrant book about gathering together in homeschooling. A deeper look into these topics and having a "Morning Time" would be the book Better Together by Pam Barnhill, which I recommend. But this book shines in its own way, accessible for viewing and inspiration by all ages in the family.

My little ones and I enjoyed looking through the pictures and seeing other families gathering like we do. We especially liked seeing toddlers in other families and laughed at how similar our own little morning time monkey is.

What I appreciated most about this book is that my kids and I could see other families gathering together like we do. There is connection, wonder, and appreciation in that. I hope this book continues to be an inspiration as my kids get older; that we can see the variety of ages and delight that there can be in morning time.

Only docking a star because there are some very Catholic resources recommended that I couldn't condone. But lots of good, practical inspiration for homeschooling.

An excellent review of Morning Time and its importance in our homeschool days. Seeing the real life pictures of several families during their "gathering time" was invaluable.

An encouraging read and perfect for a self-care day of sitting outside enjoying the breeze, sunshine, and sounds of nature. And, of course, adding more books to checkout at the library.
