I am the son of a horrible man. With his every kill, I feel the cut I’m forced to wear, dig into my flesh and conscience. But all that weight disappears when I see her… She rides her horse with a freedom I crave. I want her. All of her. But nothing is as it seems… We both belong to families that have other plans for us. There are so many people who want to keep us apart, I barely believe my eyes when finding a secret, buried so deep, it takes my dead mother to reveal it.

Whether India’s characters are feeling the heat from hell or the wings of grace, they are all transforming and want to share their journey with you. Her novels range from Dark MC, Paranormal, to Contemporary, but each story is either a path of destruction or a road to redemption.

Sometimes both.

So, if you want to read about voyages of the heart, the grit to rise from one’s knees, or the strength to break free of the binds of a spirit, then pick one of India’s stories because she believes damaged souls are worth saving and that there is nothing more beautiful than a soul on fire.

I think there’s more tears than water in my cup right now.
Like India R Adams style, this book is heavy and emotional.
And as per usual, this book deserves more than 5 stars.

Thunder. A boy who’s life was seeded in darkness from the moment he was born.
I will never truly have words to fully describe India R Adams writing.

This book is heavily revolved around sex trafficking and the reality of it. It’s brutal. It’s disgusting. It’s full of darkness. And you really need to read the trigger warnings. There are moments in the book that you will just slap your hand over your mouth and try not to cry over what the characters are going through. There’s death. Very graphic violence. Mentions of rape involving children. and so on.

*This author does NOT romanticize the predators that do these horrific acts*

The first half of the book is really about Thunder’s life as a child. You need to know how he was raised. Who he was raised by. To understand who he is as a man at the end of the book.

His life really began when he met Rya. A little girl at a church praying to Jesus like her life depended on it.
“Everlasting.”

Both of these characters have skeletons in their closets. And they are so strong. Holding on for years waiting till it’s the right time to be together.
“His life—his tragedy— what is my gravity. Through his bruised skin and scarred heart, he was able to keep me from floating away…”

Thunder ends up in the hands of a bad man, in an MC, and is raised as his son and a prospect for this motorcycle club. If you read some of the authors other books you will definitely see some other clubs having a moment in this book which made me so happy!

Throughout this book you see a broken boy, who gets dealt with one horrible life altering moment after another, and he becomes a man. And that man never once turned selfish. He continues to want to help these trafficked survivors instead of just fleeing.

Ugh. I just can’t even explain how amazing this book is. And to be honest every book by India.

The story of Thunder and Rya isn’t over. There will be a book to and I am extremely happy for that because we need more. We need this couple to have a good life ahead of them. 💜

I always know going into a India R Adams book that a few things will happen! One me falling in love with the characters, two me falling in love with story and threw me becoming obsessed with every single page and Thunder and Ryas story was absolutely no exception. This story deals with some sensitive circumstances that are definitely not the easiest to read but with everything India writes her words just draw you in a captivating way

Everlasting

There are few authors capable of so eloquently telling a story, of pulling you in to the point that you feel every emotion on the page, that immerse you into a world you don't want to leave. Ever. India R. Adams is one of those authors. She has a talent, a depth I've found rare and intoxicating when it comes to fiction novels, but also a connection rooted in realism and the skill to craft moments that will forever leave you touched in your soul. She doesn't just write a character. They are felt, created, cultivated, and ultimately blossom on their own while the reader joins the journey. Her writing is masterful. Trust me. I'm in awe every time I read one of her books.

Praying for Thunder is no exception. This novel made me laugh, shed a tear, full-on sob, and also hope. I fell in love with Ani and her Thunder. And then there's Dio. That dark biker owns my heart.

If you're a fan of Adams, you'll enjoy the appearances of other remarkable characters presented in her worlds, a few that have been favorites. So many surprises.

It's so hard not to give spoilers, but this book must be read and experienced without them. A journey for the soul. Heartbreaking. Life-changing. Life-affirming. Shattering. Extraordinary. This is my FAVORITE book of 2022. DO NOT MISS IT!!

It's almost 5 AM, and I'm still reading this book. I'm about halfway through. But I can not put it down! I'm a ball of anxious energy (the good kind). This story is so unique. It's unlike anything I've read, yet it's everything I love about an India R. Adams book!
***********************************************

“What pleases you, eases me.”

Total swoon!!!

So I finished Praying for Thunder this morning, and I can definitely say if you want a book that engages the heart, this is the one you need to read!
It's very story driven. As with most of India R. Adams' books, it's a journey- the journey of one young man and the people and events that shaped his life. It's heartwrenching, inspirational, challenging at times, and sprinkled with beautiful moments. I fell in love with Thunder and Rya and was captivated by many new characters. I loved seeing familiar faces from past stories. My heart hurt for each one, and as painful as the journey was, it only made me love them more.

I was left with a few questions in the end, but I expect they'll be addressed in future books! I'm so excited to see where the next book in the series takes us.

3.75stars--PRAYING FOR THUNDER by India R Adams is a contemporary, adult, slightly paranormal, dark, MC romance story line found in the multi-authored Royal B*stards MC series. PRAYING FOR THUNDER is the beginning of Thunder DiAni Semloh’s story line.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line, there will be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from first person perspective (Thunder) covering eighteen years in the life PRAYING FOR THUNDER follows Thunder DiAni Semloh from birth to eighteen years of age. From his birth and the tragic death of his mother, raised by his Aunt Ani and Diablo Jesiah David Holmes, to the abduction and abuse at the hands of sexual predators and his so-called father, Thunder Semloh’s life has never been easy but for the time spent with his beloved Ani and the man that she loved. Kidnapped by his father’s brother, Thunder would struggle to find a place within his father’s MC, a club known for their trafficking of very young children until our hero comes face to face with his future in a young girl, a child name Ryannon aka Rya, a girl he would hold close to his heart until the day he was forced to push her away.

PRAYING FOR THUNDER is a bit of an anomaly in the world of the MC as it follows many pathways but always through the eyes of child/boy/man who battled the demons that try to destroy his life. Slightly paranormal including psychic and telepathic connections, and the ability to set fire, Thunder is about to find his place in the world, sitting at the head of the table for the RBMC Wilmington NC.

PRAYING FOR THUNDER is a slow building, dark, gritty, heart breaking and emotional story of abuse and neglect, violence and murder, obsession and rejection, acceptance and love. The premise is dramatic, haunting and tragic with scenarios of spirituality and religious overtones; the characters are broken, struggling, edgy and intense. PRAYING FOR THUNDER ends on a happily ever after-for now, Thunder and Rya’s story continues in PRAYING FOR LIGHTNING.

OMG 😲

Let me start by saying this book is not for everyone. As a case manager this book is well written and very close to some realities and can be a trigger. With that said, this is the first book I have read from this author and I am in love. This book was amazing. The story was heartwarming, heartbreaking, with action and an happily ever after. I am a RBMC fan and I have to say this has just become my favorite book. I read Diablo's story and I couldn't wait to read about Thunder and his Ani. When I picked up this book could not put it down. Thunder and his Rya have just become my favorite couple in the RBMC series and can't wait for the next book.

Everlasting Thunder

“Everlasting.” “What does that mean?” “It is what the voice told me when I saw you for the very first time.”

Praying for Thunder is the story of an unusual boy, who lives many lives before he becomes a man. Throughout them, he has strong women to lay the way to a well deserved freedom.

First a mother, then aunt, a protector, and then the love of his life. Thunder becomes who he is, so that he can be who is needed for them all.

There is much sadness in watching a child of abuse come of age. In her writing, India R. Adams is able to balance the pain and horror with peaks of sunshine and humor.

Ultimately, this is an origin story of strength in love. That mythological emotion that binds us to others. The one that can make you feel like a God with his Goddess.

This book.
This book hurt.
I don't have triggers but once I started reading I knew I needed time before I could continue. It was the best decision so I could appreciate the magic this author yet again brings to her readers.
In this book there were more ways than one.
Yet again there were stories within stories within stories (no that is not a typo, you'll understand once you read).
I'm going to stop my review here as talking anymore about either the characters or plot will not give it justice.
Just know that even though your heart and head will hurt this is a must read and easily added to my top reads list.

5*
Wow this book had me glued to each page till the end.
The story starts with two friends running from evil,  one heavily pregnant.
To weak to survive Rosa gives birth on the run on a night of Thunder her son lives up to the strong name she gave him.
Ani will do everything she can to save this sweet boy and learning to trust is hard.
Diabo knows the connection he shares with Ani & Thunder is strong but is prepared for the ride.
I totally fell in love with each character and I'm so desperate for more in the series.
There are some difficult subjects in the book. However, the author does give notifications of these at the start of the book. I think they were entwined in the story very well and handled with such professionalism.
Well done definitely recommend reading.

Thank you India for the honor of reading this ARC.

Loved how much Indias writing has grown into the MC world.

As usual, once started I couldn't put it down.

The inclusion of beloved characters from other books has made me want to go some rereading lol. I love how they flow between each other.

Not sure if this was Indias intention but it felt at times that I was reading a story that was being read by Thunder.
Weird but strangely OK.

Not sure what it was about this story but I needed it to not have an ending but to not leave me hanging either and kept thinking.
"Please don't finish on a cliffhanger. Please, please, please." And this book needed exactly the ending it got.

I didn't have the usual emotional turmoil when immersed on one of Indias journeys. Infact it was rather tame. but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of Thunder and Rya. I am hoping further instalments will answer some of the questions this one has left me with and of course to see some of the characters grow.

"Soul magnets"

Every India R. Adam's book gives me a gut punch. Praying For Thunder is no different. It's the story of Thunder/Hellion and Rya and calling that journey difficult, is an understatement. These two connect as children and we get to watch their relationship progress over time. These two characters were so mature for their age and were not afraid to sacrifice for each other. Praying For Thunder was gripping, emotional, and complex. I love how India's book are all interwoven. She drops little tidbits of info about past characters and story lines that connect to the present book. It makes the reader think "Oh, now I understand." It's a sign of her genius and writing talent.

I will forever be an India R. Adam's fan. I love how she's not afraid to tackle tough subjects. And although her characters may suffer trauma, there's always hope and strength in overcoming. I highly recommend this book. But as a reader, I suggest reading her earlier books to fully understand the plot line.

I don't even know what I just read. Most of the book was in Thunder's thoughts starting all the way back to his mother giving birth while on the run.

It's about the woman who started raising him and the people who surrounded them and who came to try and make it better for them.

What I don't understand is what was it with Dio's eyes changing back and forth....it he some kind of wolf? A shifter??? ETC.... hopefully we get more information in the next book.

Oh and if you're wondering if it has sex then yes it does in the last little bit of the book.

First time reading this author so I don't know if it ties in with a series she already has out....IF you read this and it does tie in with something else she has written, please let me know.

Adding to this review:

For more information about Thunder and Dio read Santa Biker Tonopah NV by Nikki Landis as part of the RBMC.

India has the ability to draw you into her books until you are not merely reading it, you are living it. This is an intense tale and there are some sensitive issues in here, so if abuse, both sexual and physical to children and adults is a trigger proceed with care. That said, I found this book a compelling read that is truly difficult to put down, so be prepared to lose sleep.
The writing is very individual to the author, it is deeply spiritual (and I don't mean in the religious sense, although it's there), I mean in the slightly paranormal and very deep and emotional way. I am so glad the likes of India and Nikki have joined the ranks of RBMC, their contribution to this edgy MC series is definitely a bonus.

India give us a wonderful story full of emotions as we are used to in all her books. I couldn’t put it down!! The rollercoaster of emotions that India put me through!! India’s writing style is unique, she gives us one of a kind stories. These stories are full of dark, pain, sorrow and revenge but at the same time she gives us light, love, friendship and forgiveness. All these feelings are what makes us human. This is why I love India’s books they are full of these feelings and how all her characters make their own choices. For me, this make them more human. India through her writing make me feel all her characters emotions and this is makes her unique as an author!

Praying For Thunder is my first book by India R. Adams and it is stunning!

While it is an MC Romance, India also tells the story of Thunder growing up, his many losses and also gains. Even when he thought he was alone, he really wasn't.

I don't know how Ms. Adams is able to include so many people's stories in one novel, but I'm so glad to have met them! Rosa and Ani, the girls from the club and Stew, that protected Niño (Thunder) and Ani until she met Dio and gave Thunder his name. Dio is fabulous, the things he can do, and the ways that he can protect Thunder when he's there - and later even from far away. Rya and Tabi, Chubs and Roan, in any other story these might just be side characters, but in Praying For Thunder India tells each individual story well enough that you feel like they've had their own story inside this story.

Unfortunately Thunder doesn't get to keep his happiness early in life, there are so many people trying to take it away from him, and when one of them finds Ani and Thunder they try to kill all the good in this little boys heart forever.

The romance in Praying For Thunder is deliciously sweet, and terribly sad. Much like real life, sometimes the characters don't always get to keep what should be theirs forever, but this book ends in just the right way, so that I was able to overlook the sad.

I went through and added Hostile Saint, Road To Absolution, and Steal Me to my Kindle out of Ms. Adams backstock as soon as I finished this so I could catch up on some of the other characters that remained stubbornly on the side during Praying For Thunder, and if you enjoy it as much as i did that's where you need to go next!! I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!

What an intense story this was and so powerful too, with many life lessons to make us sit up and think hard about all manner of things. Being told mainly by Thunder from an early age onwards immerses you into his world as if you were living it with him. The angst was so real, so absolute that my heart just about broke for Thunder at times. He is without doubt one of the most interesting characters I have ever read about and totally loved him. There were other incredible characters too that helped to make this story so memorable. But then there are some nasty, evil ones, as is usual, and holy moly they made me want to take to them with a piece of heavy four by two—not something I often feel I can assure you!

There were some extremely sensitive moments in this story that bring forth so many emotions. Some that were so strong that I literally had to stop reading to breathe in and out to calm down—sometimes from anger and sometimes because I had tears pooling in my eyes with sadness. There’s also some great humour sprinkled throughout the book, especially through the innocent eyes of a young Thunder and the cynical, yet still humorous, teenage/young man Thunder.

This author is absolutely brilliant at weaving lots of threads into her stories and then almost magically they create an image by the end, she is truly a creative genius. Many of these are extreme special threads that enhance the overall story and make you sit back and reflect long after you’ve finished reading—this book is a perfect example of this brilliance.

⚠️Trigger warning. Rape, human trafficking, abuse. Trigger warning ⚠️

India you amaze me my friend! I love that India is immersing herself in this motorcycle world. It suits her style so much. I feel like I’ve been just watching Indias writing grow from the innocent YA books to books with tragic characters and tragic stories. But she writes each one with not only purpose but also redemption.

I enjoyed this book. One thing that I enjoy when reading these MC books is that even though they are all connected they are seriously their own book with their own feel. I appreciate that because I personally don’t like when authors go into a certain world and don’t leave it since sometimes it gets stale, but India did well here. She’s taking each character and story for who they are.

Now here’s the thing…this book was in Thunders point of view from birth until he’s like 18yrs old. It probably would’ve been better written in third person from the beginning until he’s actually understanding what’s going on around him. It just didn’t work well in some areas, especially during the Ani days.

The spiritual/fantasy part I enjoyed. It was different in how it was written. I just wish there was more in it. More explanation, description, how that came to be. It would’ve been more apart of the character build rather than a side piece that pushed the plot along.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. Hopefully in the next book my questions will be answered including those about Rya and Onus and even the dad *ahem*. But I guess I’ll have to wait haha 4.0 star rating.

Ps. India can I ARC your next books?! I’m loving your dark reads and I need to read them as soon as I can!

I'm not going to say that I know this author because I don't.
I haven't heard of her until I saw it mentioned at the beginning of a book by one of my favorite authors.
And I'm so freaking glad to have seen it.
Boy oh boy.
As I said, India R. Adams is a new author to me, and let's just say that this was not going to be the only book that I would read.
Her writing is raw and wild, dark, intense and so much more.
Praying For Thunder is the book in question and explores the lives of Thunder and Rya.
Thunder didn't have an easy childhood.
Through this book, you'll see his life growing up, his nightmares, and his abuse until Rya.
Then...
I can't even start this review properly because my head is all over the place.
This book was brutal, dark and so much more.
Stunning plot, well written, super dark, super scary, and intense.
Each chapter was even more addictive than the latest and I couldn't stop reading.
The story was captivating from the beginning and the need to know more was so strong that I couldn't put it away.
There were parts of the book that I had to stop reading because I was crying so freaking hard I could barely see the pages.
How can someone be so mean, so lethal?
How can you move on when your past is so dark?
The characters worked perfectly with each other and you can feel their strengths.
It was a first for me from this author and I can't wait to read more.
I was super excited when I saw that another book was coming. Can't freaking wait for it.
Spectacular book India. You nailed it and I can't wait for more.

While I did really enjoy this book it ended up being not what I expected at all. For me it told more of an origin story, which I actually really liked but I had been expecting more from Thunder and Rya together. I guess that is coming in another book so something to look forward to!
My heart just broke for all these characters because they had been though so much and yet they kept fighting for a better world. This was a dark read with some truly heartbreaking moments. Dio was a shining light in this story. I absolutely loved him and how loving and caring he was with Ani and Thunder. I don't think my heart has hurt for a character as much as it did for Thunder. He was an amazing person who held onto the light in his heart even on the darkest days. Rya was innocent and pure and I loved the fact her passion was with horses. As an equestrian myself I know the solace horses can bring.
This was an intense read that at times had me taking some time to re-read and figure things out. It is spiritual and has an other worldly aspect to it that I enjoyed. I really am looking forward to the next book because these characters are special and I think they have more to say. This is one of those books that touches your heart and leaves you thinking about the characters long after you finish. I would definitely recommend it!

This was my first India Adams book. I think I’ve been reading too many dark romance books, because when I started this book… I was like what is happening?!?

I wasn’t expecting half of the book to be about Thunder growing up. Was I expecting to cry? No. Was I expecting more spice? Yes. But honestly, this story is beautiful. I think it was an important to have all of this background. I wanted so much more of Ani and Dio’s relationship. Their love was so fierce.

The women in this book are all so amazing and strong. Well… almost all of the women. Grandma… not so much. She sucks.

Maybe we should talk about trigger warnings? It is of a story of sex trafficking. No it doesn’t go into the details of the children. It does have forced sex. And also there is sex with a 16 year old, which normally I would not be about, but it was written very well.

I am excited to see Thunder and Rya’s journey. And I will be going back through India’s collection to get more!

This book is a mix of some magic only this author can bring to her stories. Action Packed and A Love Story Like No Other.

You follow the journey of Thunder and all that was apart of him becoming who he was meant to become. This story is full of intensity and raw emotions of people who suffer unspeakable acts committed against them. So definitely check TW if you have any sensitivity to the subject matter. Star crossed lovers or fate plays a big role in this unique MC story.

This book was full of the impossible circumstances to overcome and just pulls you into this chaotic world where everything has a deeper meaning for the main characters. If you have read this author before you definitely know she can weave a story like no other that is ingrained into you forever. You will experience an array of emotional moments from this story but by the end you will want even more.

I had the pleasure to read this one early and it was phenomenal and it will make you lose track of time. I highly recommend it if you love a deep mystical fated love story inside a chaotic world of MC gangs with tons of action and heartbreaking moments. It's a must read.

Wow. Another soul grabbing story! Four stars only because it stared out a little rough for me....trying to understand what was happening was a little confusing, but everything started to clear up and I felt my insides cheer when Justice, Saint and and Grims showed up! I hadn't realized I would get to read more about them and I was thrilled! This was an emotional journey, filled with heart ache and disgust that turned to redemption, hope and love. I was send a complimentary copy and I am choosing to leave my honest review.

India R Adams always writes a successfully heart wrenching story and this one was no different. In fact, whilst a little less darker than her usual, it was still hard hitting and made me tear up a few times!

I grew very attached to Ani, Dio and Thunder. I bonded instantly and remained attached until the very last word. I felt like I was watching their lives play out, second by second and I think the author is very descriptive which allows the reader to become invested.

I cannot wait for more of this couple, their story will continue to be...wild.

This story starts from Lightening’s birth and moves through his childhood and then onto young adulthood. It’s a unique storytelling style that I feel is well suited to the gritty, heartbreaking and beautiful emotional aspects of this heartfelt story.
There’s many important secondary characters, it’s both tragic and heartwarming throughout.
There’s a mystical feeling of fate and otherworldly things at play that add to a very intriguing story with characters that tugged at my heart.
✱︎Heed content warnings, it has things of a sensitive nature and things that could be disturbing.✱︎
I love the authors unique style, it’s not a straightforward romance in my opinion. Romance certainly plays a big part and is present. It’s a life story that is led by love of many kinds. The romance is once in a lifetime, fated kind of love. Rya is young, but she’s wise and gives Lightening exactly what he needs emotionally.
My heart was tugged, battered and broken. Yet, there’s always a feeling of hope, a feeling of the possibility of overcoming the odds, the evil.
The secondary characters play a huge part in the story, there are so many that have become favorites of mine. I love that most of the characters are the underdogs, the ones society looks down on and yet they show incredible loyalty, bravery and sacrifice for those they are close to.
There is a lot of story in this book, so many plot lines and characters and it flows so well and it was never confusing, the characters are portrayed so vividly I never felt lost.
I could say so much about this amazing, unique characters, I could keep going on about what I loved about it.
If it’s caught your interest, experience it through your eyes. It’s a really beautiful story that will wreck your heart and put it back together. You’ll meet some incredibly amazing, unique characters.
A second book is releasing soon with Lightening and Rya’s continuing story and I can’t wait!

Wow! Just wow!

This book takes you on one hell of a journey from Thunder to Hellion and back again.

It's a story of love, sacrifice, determination and of the everlasting.

I can promise you, you will not have ever read an RMBC book like this. It's sublime.

India R Adams is an MC romance Queen and her taking on a Royal Bastards MC chapter is awesome. This was everything I expected and more. I just can't wait for the next book.
