Destination Edinburgh for Ava.
I absolutely love reading a series around a family or a group of friends, and in this case these young ladies with nothing in common, met at college when they’re grouped together during a housing lottery. The friends are Ava, Rory, Charlotte and Maya. We met Rory Author AJ Alexander’s book MY LUCKY CHARM in the Get Lucky Multi Author Series. Charlotte has flown to Paris in the previous book and now it is Ava’s turn.
Ava is a quiet and nerdy homebody. Having lost her parents at 12, she’s not a risk taker but a goal maker, and love doesn’t feature in her plans for her to achieve the dream job her mother missed out on. Maya is the most adventurous of the friends and challenges them to pick a place to go after college. Ava hates flying but she applied to the master's degree program in Edinburg, Scotland and we meet her on her flight over. She’s freaking out as the plane starts to descend into Edinburgh and when a deep voice and blue eyes offers to hold her hand, she sees the gorgeous man sitting next to her that she’d completely ignored for the seven hour trip opting instead to be distracted by an older lady discussing her cats.
Callen Mackenzie is completely taken with Ava, something she’s not used to so I loved that she endeavoured to channel the personality of the more adventurous Maya all while being under his intense scrutiny. Something I also appreciated with this book is that Ms Alexander also slowed the hot attraction and insta-love pace just a tad meaning that DESTINATION EDINBURGH was for me, the book I’ve enjoyed most of this group of friends.
Is it wrong that while reading Callen’s POV I completely heard his Scottish accent?? He was a beautiful man, and I love that accent, so I’m easily saying that Callen is up there as one of my favourite AJ Alexander heroes and I can see why Ava would fall almost instantly in love with him.
Again like her friends, Ava’s book is a May-December romance if that is something that you as a reader would enjoy, because I certainly did. 4.5 Stars 🖤✫*
