This book in the series is somehow all over the place, not gonna lie. Though it somehow is to be expected, given how it basically follows every bit of Ryoma's current life. He does seem to come across as really busy but upon closer look, now that he has employees and his slimes are more developed and thus has become more efficient, he has now more time for himself after he gives out orders to everyone.

That must have really tasted like home, enough to get him feeling nostalgic. It must have brought back memories - ones that are pleasant, I hope!! His life back in Earth had been so rough, that I can easily say his good memories are probably few and far in between. I was looking forward to reading about his second store more and observe it flourish just like the first one. I'm sure it would flourish in Lenaf too! But alas, I'll take what I can get.

Ryoma finding another goal presents deeper plot too. Though before he even gets there, I'm sure he will have to go through so much first. He has too strengthen himself in more ways than one. It would be one hell of an adventure and it would certainly be fun!! The prospect of having a lengthy plot still waiting gets me extremely excited!!

The Epilogue part is once again striking. As all the other books before this, I love the Epilogue part yet again. I love how it tells more of how Ryoma was as an adult in Earth, more so since even in the new world, he seems to still be somewhat a mystery despite the book being in his point of view. The Epilogue chapter once again shows just how brutal his life was. I can't help but feel pity. The only redeeming thought for me now is at least, he is now happy and is in a better place.

The new characters and new connections are nice and I would expect them to bring more into the story. As all the other books before this, it is calm and laid-back and definitely one book for killing time. It hooks you just enough that makes you want to read more of it. I'm certainly looking forward to reading more from this series!!

This book covers up to a better part of season 2 of the anime. As per what I previously said, the story varies quite abit from the anime, and I actually like it more than the anime. It's nice to see Ryoma enjoying his life in this new world and I am looking forward to see where his new life adventure brings him next.

Ryoma best boi

The bestest boi there ever is. I've also never thought about how amazing and important regular everyday stuff are. Kinda fun to think about every day luxuries we use.

Ryoma's mostly stabilized his first store and is already looking to open another branch. As he's traveling to new places and meeting new people, he encounters things both familiar and new.

It's still pretty hard to write summaries for these books since a compacted view just doesn't sound very interesting, even though I still like the minutiae of Ryoma setting up for life in a new world. The business is doing well, except for the random thugs that keep trying to put a dent in it (and Ryoma's ultimate solution of beating them up and then charging them for healing magic is great).

More importantly, we're starting to see more of the world. This is particularly with the magic devices, but also in the fact that Ryoma is finally starting to travel, on his own, to places outside his familiar haunts. Aside from some of the trouble brewing behind the scenes, it's a mostly pleasant journey with friendly people he gets along with well.

I do appreciate that the illustrations highlight each of the new gods he meets. They're all quite fun in their own ways.

I also like that we've basically got a second story at this point lurking in the back of each book, which follows the aftermath of Ryoma's death. Now that he's gone, the bad luck that haunted his entire life has fallen apart, which means consequences are coming for at least some of his abusers.

Overall this is a decent comfy read. The stakes will never be too high, but I enjoy watching everything get built up a little bit at a time. I rate this book Recommended.

Another great addition to the series. This is the first book without the Duke, Elia, and all their people which really gives other characters time in the spotlight and introductions to even more characters! I will say that none of these characters are fully fleshed out, and there are a bunch of them, but for me personally it doesn't bother me. I get to see the impressions these characters leave on Ryoma and from that I think it describes their personalities pretty well. I'm not reading this series to be impressed by the writing, especially considering it's a translated work, I just genuinely love the slow paced fantasy, cottage core(ish) life our protagonist is living.

It’s weird how not much actually happens in this book but it’s still interesting to read. I liked the new characters and how Ryoma acts to connect the people in his life to each other when they otherwise would never have met. The ending short story brings to light some mysteries about Ryoma and his old job, too. Also, the bonus short stories from the J-Novel Premium version (which can only be bought from the J-Novel website directly) have one about Caulkin that gives insight into some of his backstory.

In a way, this volume was a bit boring for me. Just a little. Maybe that's why it took me longer than expected to finish reading this? But I still read it since this was the basis of the start of the second season in the anime version. I know I talked a lot about the anime version, but that was because it was my first exposure of this light novel. Of course, there were characters here that didn't appear in the anime, and so reading them like this feels like I'm looking at a slightly different story. Nonetheless, it was entertaining right around the middle and also the bonus stories centering on what happened after Ryoma died on Earth.

Not much to the story

This novel was more a series of events the mc was led through to provide the author opportunities to show off their world building- particularly how this fantasy world attempts to mimic the real world. It continues to be an easy and relaxing read but lengthy descriptions, lack of challenges for the mc and focus on their daily life rather than story development leave me doubting if I will read the next.

Ryoma is settling in as a business manager figuring out where his second location is. Traveling to new towns meeting new people, meeting new gods. There is more new types of slimes. This series as a daily life fantasy is not filled with action, but enjoyable from the perspective of watch Ryoma use his gifts to help others and grow.

good.

It’s really refreshing to see how Ryoma has a clear head that allows him to deal with situations the best way possible. I can’t wait to see where he is going with his process of evolution for his slimes.

A great continuation

It keeps still as interesting as the first volume, however the extra chapters are a whole new take on the Isekai standard style.

Great series!

I love this series! I also really like how it goes back to Earth to update the reader on what had happened after Ryoma left.

I like that we get more and more about what is happening back on earth. Also that he has a goal of claiming the inheritance and not just wondering aimlessly.

By The Grace of the Gods Volume 4 opens with a melancholic Ryoma trying to accept the Duke's family leaving. More slimes evolve into new forms, the Laundromat thrives enough to open a branch store, and Ryoma meets several new characters.

Ryoma goes on a road trip to the new town and tries travel food for the first time. Perhaps in a later volume, Ryoma uses his cooking skills to whip up something more palatable.

The draw of the story is the slice-of-life aspect. It's a relaxing series.

I enjoyed the book. Thanks for reading my review, and see you next time.
