Simon Carson is a self declared lifelong bachelor interested in three things: ranching, woodworking, and staying as far from the responsibility of a family as he can. Plenty of young ladies catch his eye, but they all want something he's just not interested in giving.
Samantha Paulson is a trick-riding, back-talking cowgirl who has made a life for herself riding in Jed Harper's Wild West Show. She's tough, smart, and if her fans are to be believed, a little crazy.
Samantha's life is exactly as she wants it, thank you very much. That is, until someone starts sabotaging her act in the show and putting her in grave danger. The bosses send her out to a friend's ranch to hide out while they find the perpetrator, but her single cowboy father didn't exactly teach her to act like the other ladies in town. No, she knows horses better than she does people, and she'll earn her keep if she can.
When Simon and Samantha meet, sparks fly and Simon starts to reevaluate everything he knows. That is, until Samantha's attacker goes on the hunt and may just be closer than they think. It'll be up to the Lord whether they have any hope for a future, or if they're doomed before they even start.
This is a sweet and heartwarming story of a couple each of whom did not intend to ever fall in love. This is Samantha Paulson and Simon Carson's story, and the character development is excellent. Simon was a confirmed bachelor whose only interests in life were his ranch and woodworking. Samantha was a trick rider in a Wild West show whose act and very life were threatened by an unknown person. Her boss sent her to Simon's ranch to hide out until the unknown person could be found. Samantha was not, nor did she act like, the normal woman of her day. She knew horses and riding better. When she and Simon met, the sparks began to fly, some good...some not so good. Will Simon be able to protect Samantha when danger comes calling? Will he put aside his preconceived ideas about women and let his true feelings for Samantha develop and grow into a HEA for them? Be sure and read this great story...I know you will enjoy it as much as I did
A delightful, heartwarming read interspersed with many “Pearls of wisdom” and a few well placed reminders that: God is in control. I always find Malory Fords books well written gems filled with the importance of living life to the fullest is best done walking in faith that God has our best interests in His hands. I’m never disappointed in reading Malory Ford’s books, therefore I don’t hesitate to recommend her books in the least.
I enjoyed reading this clean romance story. With strong characters and a well defined story line. At first Simon and Sam blended like water and oil. Once they became more familiar with each other their respect and love for each other seemed to grow. Have fun reading this story and find out how close and helpful small towns are for one another. M
I really liked this book and Malory's writing. This was my first book of hers and I really enjoyed the story telling and the faith content. I do think the romance was cute but a little rushed at the end. Still loved it.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone, but especially to those who are questioning why God created them like they are. We all are different in some ways because each of us is needed in this life for God’s purposes. Never doubt that God can’t use you as you are and that He has a special purpose for you.
A performer who cares about performing and riding is her life finds herself having to rethink her idea of the future especially whenPine Creek and it's people grow on her heart.
This is a cute and loving tale of a mischievous twin and a darling trick rider in a wide west show. They have so many adventures and mishaps not to mention falling in love. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.
Part of the Waymaker series, it definitely helps to read the previous books, as the family relationships can be confusing. However, it is another well written historical romance with a clear Christian message.
When a young girl comes to The Circle H for protection. Things change a bit, she's put into some danger, but mostly her life is going to change. All for the better also because God has bigger plans.
I enjoyed this book! The characters were entertaining and the story was engaging! I’m looking forward to the next book in the series! I recommend reading this book!
Thus is a 3.5 - 4. It’s the story of Sam, a trick rider who gets attacked twice. To protect her, she goes to a ranch where Simon lives & works, which his family owns.
Nicely written and though it ended as expected, it was a good read with unexpected events thrown in. I enjoyed the book and found the characters believable.
