ughhh

This was a horribly written book. This series had so much potential in the beginning but these last to books felt like the author couldn’t wait to be done.

Felt rushed

Honestly, I'm surprised the book made s rank feel so weak. There was no real difficulty, every problem was resolved. The enemies were like "let me go kill them for you master." One after another. Like you would think the big bad would have thought "why not send them all." Or, how about we attack the lower floors so the army has too retreat. Just wasn't executed well. The powers were kind of cool, but not by much.

I liked the rest of the series but this one was really really bad. I don't even want to write about all the stupidity at this point.

Worst downfall I've ever seen from a good fantasy series. The previous books were awesome, and this was just... so rushed and repetitive. Both the MC and the villains were plain stupid at times. For example, in the previous book Max had got an option to get the Extra Life ability. Why didn't he use it or give to someone else? Why didn't he use Sarah's healing ability at all for himself? In fact, his power became so OP that he had to become stupid in order to avoid bulldozing every opponent with ease, not that he does anything else, with his brilliant plans as always, which never fail. Wow, wonderful. I could go on and on. And don't get me started on the main villain. He literally decided to send his minions one at a time, which is the oldest and most inane trope possible.

Nicolas Adler has declared himself God-King, and installed himself on the 99th floor of the tower, the same person who had killed Max and Elle’s parents, leaving them orphans at such a young age and the one who had tortured Elle throughout her early years turning her into the rebel climber she had become, the one known as the Scarlet Demon. Adler intended causing chaos in the tower with intent to turn everyone into slaves to do his bidding. The elder council of Zestiris took the opportunity to start a coup but thanks to Max this was soon thwarted, however though the battle was won the war hadn’t even started. Adler opened a rift in the sky through which he unleashed an S-rank monster wave on the city causing chaos and confusion and a lot of deaths so Max and his group of friends decided it was time to take down the God-King and put a stop to his crazy tyranny. Obviously this was easier said than done, but Max was not one to back down before any problem no matter how insurmountable it might seem, and with him on their side all the creatures on the different floors of the tower rallied round and the battle was on! If they were to succeed they all had to put their differences behind them and work as a team, everyone’s input and abilities were needed in the war declared on the heavens. This is the final book in the amazing and very thrilling Tower Climber series and it is one breath taking adventure after another as our team of friends led by Max tackle the floors to get to the 99th one, to face off with the God-king himself. I love the way all loose ends are tied off to give us a perfect ending which we, the readers must have all been waiting for!

I can’t say enough good things about this series! Max was consistently overpowered throughout, but with his talent, I thought that his progression was believable. I’ve enjoyed seeing Max grow from the cripple in the beginning, to the tower climber that he’s become. His ability to strategize and plan ahead for an unknown future are delightful to watch. Though now I’m sad that Max’s story is over.

I have to say that I hoped that the end would proceed as it did once I learned of his S-grade ability. This ending was deliciously satisfying. I’d love to find out more about the tower and it’s setup. Why were the armies protecting the god-king so far below the top? Why are the highest tiers so sparsely populated? Did we ever find out who the two tower gods that had killed so many human climbers were - I think from the epilogue of the first book? We’re they Fallen Angels? Gang leaders from Nightmare City? Someone in the imperial court?

It was amazing seeing the people who had been so fearsome in the earlier books be cut down almost negligently when they tried to cause trouble in the beginning of the book. How did they gain power? We’re they companions of the original three? And with Max’s track record, it could only be hubris that led them to believe that they stood a chance against him when they targeted him and his friends.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

good book, good characters but the author needed the source.

After finishing this entire series I find it well done. There are a few niggling issues. first of all the pros great characters, likable MC, good action sequences, not too many stat pages. The storyline was also interesting. The problem that I had which kept me from giving this a five star review was that the author definitely needs a thesaurus and his beta readers did not serve him properly. somebody should do a word count for words like the boy, gulped, is this it and the redhead boy. I because of the uses or over uses of these words gives one the impression that this book was written for a 15-year-old or at least no older than 17. If so the author should labeled it as a Y a book. if the Author writes another book with teenagers, don’t write them as if they are country bumpkins, even country folk have more sophistication these days. The other thing I’m glad is that he did not use his main character as a punching bag. Everybody who reads these books knows the main character is not going to be killed bravo for that. Good book well worth the read well worth reading the entire series.

I read through this series, and it required quite a bit of suspension of disbelief. Before the period of the book, there were 2 A-Ranker climbers on the human floor (being the climber president, and the generic bad guy). However, everyone reaches S-rank in the couple of years, goes through all floors of the tower in a couple of months, resolves wars that no-one else can solve (just by asking one question :o), survives assassination attempts, etc...
Yet i read it until the end (that's why i'm giving it a 3). Once i started treating it as a YA series, i got my head around the worst parts (it's basically a boyish fantasy series in which everything is solved by the protagonist, and the rest is there to support his rise to fame, and tell him how awesome he is (edit: i forgot, they are also there to be kidnapped to be saved by him)

Tower Climber 5

The tower has a new god-king. From what the know about Nicolas Adler, this will be bad for everyone that lives in the tower! There is only one thing that can be done. They have to dethrone the god-king! To the top of the tower!

I hate to see a series end, but it was a good and satisfying ending. Better have a series end as planned than stagnate. The Dragon Ball vibes are definitely present in the entire series, but book 5 specifically. Jakob does great tying up all the loose ends. I’m going to miss Tower Climber, but I’m excited for the next series. There is always room for another climber series down the road too…

Content warning: A few darker scenes (brief torture of a small demon by a large demon).

Great ending to the series; hopefully, there'll be more in this world

An epic struggle, a desperate short of time climb (go Toto!), mysteries solved, some critical decisions made, and a great wrap-up epilogue.

I think the story is good as is and would like to read more stories from this world, with different characters.

Maybe the next generation? Or, it might make sense for a story a thousand or more years in the future, with the descendants of one or more of the characters in this series. There could be references back to this time and characters.

Or, these characters could find out there are other tower worlds out there. Would they find friends, enemies, or both? :)

I was given this book in exchange for a honest review.

This was a fitting end to a series that has been very entertaining. The only flaw here is that I think it should have been 2 books as the first half feels like it is a bit rushed to get to the story the author wants to tell and while that story was a fun read that I couldn't put down there could have been more depth to earlier battles that needed a little more fleshing out.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story was pretty solid and managed to maintain everything that made this an awesome series. It's action-filled, funny, and heartwarming. The whole thing felt right. Also, it's was so nice to see characters from the previous books.

Steve Campbell's just pure magic! His narration's always on point and never ever disappoints.

Take a bow, Mr. Tanner and Mr. Campbell!

Perfect ending to the story we loved.

Always sad to come to the end of a series you love. Feels like you're leaving part of yourself with the characters. This book was spectacular and gave us the everything we needed to know all our favorite characters were taken care of and wrapped up well. Cant wait to see what this author has in store next. All hail the god killer!

Satisfying ending to the series. A few surprises, but overall it ended as you would expect. The series seems very anime in dialog and tone. Makes for a fun read.

As the title says this is a review for Kindle Unlimited and as such is a reflection of my enjoyment of the book and in no way reflects cost to value analysis.

This was an SS-rank super read.

Glad I stumbled onto this series. Kept me entertained and full for the week I read this. JT, I would love to have you come back to this series at a later time. Till than well, I guess I will head over to the store and get some of your other writings. And I'll probably binge read those as I have done here. Thanks

The final book in this series, while it felt a bit hurried as it took 4 books for them to reach level 60, but 61-100. In just one book.

Everything seems to be wrapped up in a nice little bow, if even because of a gimmick here and there.

Rushed

I definitely feel like some of the moments in the book were rushed or kind of stupid. I feel like the author should have taken more time to write it but I still liked the story.

Great but...

The story from start to finish was good. Although the MC has had a rough go of it early in life, he becomes massively OP. The end seems rushed which I don't like, but overall it's a good read.

A reasonable end to an entertaining series

The juvenile and formulaic writing almost overwhelmed the usually fun plot in this one, but despite all that, the brief moments of real suspense that weren’t resolved two pages later added up to an ok read.

Excellent Finished Series

This was a story of a wheelchair bound bullied boy who found out he was cursed instead of actually hurt and becomes a tower climber. Very g rated story with some r rated scary scenes.

Rushed

The ending was rushed but it wasn't terrible. The series needed two or three more books to properly finish it off

Great book

I really enjoyed this series. The book itself was great. Though I was sad that it was the end of the series. But was also happy that the series didn't drag on and on.

Good story

Good story, nice happy ending, but not a lot of depth to it. No real danger to it, though it did wrap up nicely

A great ending

A great way to end the series. Wrapping up all the plotlines (with one exception) and bringing a close to a fun tower climb series.
