All it took was three little words to put a rift in a friendship and now years later Jace craves her forgiveness and deep down Jax needs it too. I was captivated almost immediately and drawn into this forbidden romance. The characters lure you into their story with a passion and intensity that takes you on an emotional journey. Jax had sass and a strength that inspired you but she also had a softness and vulnerability that was endearing. Jace had charisma that drew your attention and stole your heart. Two people that find themselves in a situation they never expected which gives way to interesting moments, witty banter and plenty of push and pull. These two radiate chemistry and heat that can’t be missed. Their story has you on the edge of your seat and full of anticipation and angst. A story filled with love, family, drama and so much passion. A beautiful ending to an enchanting love story.

Three spiteful words that broke a friendship may have been the worst mistake Jace had ever made, yet he felt deep remorse and wanted—needed forgiveness. Forgiveness that wouldn’t come easy from Jax.
Back in his hometown, he seeks his chance at finally getting what he needs.

I felt a sense of compassion for Jax. Although she has a hard exterior with a strong personality, her soft side shows how vulnerable she really is.
Jace is a do what’s right kind of guy. His big heart alone will have you melting, not to mention his protective nature.

The chemistry between these two is like molten lava, hot and destructible, melting more than my socks off.

The relationship building had me reading on with anticipation, not to mention the unorthodox nature of it. The way these two complement each other is humbling.
I was hanging off every word from this author and couldn’t help fiercely loving her characters.

Mind filled with satisfaction and heart overflowing with warmth, I look forward to more works from this author. This comes highly recommended.

What a perfect couple Jax and Jace make.
Jax is all sassy Latina class and Jace is the rock she didn’t realise she needed.
As an unexpected night leads to an even more unexpected event Jace finds himself having to seriously step-up. In doing so he realises his childhood friend has grown into the most amazing young woman….one he can’t imagine being without.
Jax sees a whole new side to Jace and it prompts her to fight for what she wants….and that’s him!!
I love that we got some extra time with this couple and their family. Their chemistry and connection were written beautifully.
If I had one very small complaint it would be their names….a bit too similar, especially when you are reading late into the night with one eye open, half asleep because you just can’t put the flipping book down!!!😂

This story is one that leaves you feeling utterly fantastic when you have finished reading it. The characters are all really likeable and very entertaining, the romance is a work of art—one that is moulded around the solid foundation of friendship and family ties; some cracks emerge then get patched up to take on an even better shape. The descriptions are detailed and easy to visualise as you read. All round, Amor Prohibido is a great love story.

What stands out as well is how genuine the characters are and how real life the story is with the very real possibility of this happening or rather I imagine it has happened to a degree. Yes, it’s a fictional story but it’s written in such a manner that it feels less fiction and more true life.

There are some very intense scenes that are extremely well written, I applaud the author for not going overboard with these too. As there are some very humorous parts, especially coming out of Jace’s mouth. 😄 I also loved the crossover of characters from other stories by this author, minor roles that were a delight but you don’t have to have read any prior books as it doesn’t affect the story in any way.

Ah, a true love story that is beautiful at heart and has that little pinch of sass to make it more interesting.

Jax and Jace keep you on your toes and take you on an emotional rollercoaster. I absolutely loved the two of them from the start and as their story continued I fell for them more and more.

Jax is full of sass and I loved her. I love that she is strong, but she also has a more vulnerable side that many don’t get to see. Plus, she is absolutely hilarious at times, especially around her best friend. Jace is caring and protective, especially when it comes to Jax.

The chemistry between Jax and Jace is off the charts. These two are explosive when they come together. Yet, there are also so many sweet and tender moments they share that will leave you swooning. I loved seeing the two of them come together and form a strong relationship.

I absolutely loved this group of friends and I hope there are more of them in the future. I also loved little easter egg of some previous characters.

If you’re looking for a forbidden, brothers best friend, age gap romance this is one to check out.

Awesome Friends to Lovers, Second Chance read.

AMOR PROHIBIDO, the title alone promised so much, and holy-crap-on-a-cracker, Author Vi Summers delivered!!!!

If friends to lovers and second chances are your jam, then this is for you ❤️ Best Friend’s Little Sister and Surprise Baby tropes also apply and I’m telling you now that Ms Summers has covered almost every base that a romance reading lover could ask for and that is why I’m telling you to just stop reading my review and go one-click this book right now!!!

The chemistry between Jace and Jax was on fire 🔥 and was so beautifully written. The angst and emotions from both were palpable and there were even times that I just wanted to shake some sense into Jax. She had such an amazing man in her corner yet the fallout of their actions could just split long-time family friendships wide open. Sound dramatic?? It was, but Ms Summers wrote it in such a way that as a reader, I totally understood where a character was coming from.

I absolutely adored this young couple and I love a story where friends and family really bolster a plot without taking over. Jax’s brother Darren and best friend Callie were a gorgeous and often hilarious couple while Lozza as Jax’s bestie provided some truly laugh-out-loud moments!!

Let me also say that it is true, AMOR PROHIDO is definitely set in New Zealand and yes, the young ones do speak like the prose in this book. Yep, we definitely do things weird on our side of the world. The legal age of consent is 16 and our kids are allowed into the pubs at 18. All I will add is that this was one amazing book to read – several times already for me, so I can easily say that it is guaranteed great reading at 5-Stars 🖤💞✶

Brothers best friend is the superior trope of all tropes, so I was very excited for this one, but it just missed the mark for me. The fact that Jax and Jace had the rift in the first place had me rolling my eyes -- I kid you not it was over a board game. I just couldn't take it seriously. I just never liked Jace that much.. he seemed to think so highly of himself and kept jerking Jax around. Plus it took him forever to have a grown up conversation, even though he was older than her.

I did really like Jax though. All that Latina sass and fire had me laughing my booty off, and I just really felt for her. She was so confident in every aspect of her life except when it came to Jace, and I hated how he brought out her insecurities instead of soothing them.

Overall this wasn't my favorite from this author, but she's still immensely talented and I'll still be reading her books.

This is an ARC read of this book and a first time read from this author. This author had me hooked within the first few pages. I loved how she developed the characters and incorporated the different cultures. I loved the building of the forbidden romance between little sister and brothers best friend. I loved the age gap as well. This author also did an amazing job with breaching the trigger subject of miscarriage as well. I do recommend reading this book as the love story is beautiful.

A love that is forbidden but yet heart stealing and beautiful.

One heated moment, and three mindless words was all it took to break the close friendship between childhood friends Jax and Jace.
Three years later Jace has returned to his hometown, with a heavy heart and a bag full of deep regret and longing for his lost friendship.
Will Jace earn Jax's forgiveness? Can they get back their friendship? Or when sparks fly between them will it be more than friendship they want?

I wholeheartedly adored both of these characters, and to be honest felt they both were to blame in the fallout.
Jace, oh how I adored you! Instantly this man stole my heart. He's kind, loyal, protective, sweet, and let's not forget sexy as hell. Seriously.... cue the swoon for this man.
Jax, you can't help but love and also admire. She may be on the younger side but damn she's sassy, strong-willed, independent, and also sweetly vulnerable and slightly insecure.
I wish I was as badass as her when I was 20.
Age gap be damned the chemistry between these two is H-O-T.
From the moment they see each other after three years sparks fly and there is no turning back.
The spark between them ignites into pure FIRE.

I devoured this story and loved the journey of Jax and Jace. The relationship growth was a beautiful build, and the way these two not only complement but also have each others backs in times of need is so heart-warming.
Their families were so amazing and add something special to this story. Both of their mums had me laughing at times.

As the title suggests this love story is forbidden, but why? Because it’s her brother’s best friend!

Their families grew up together, Jace was older (her brothers age and his best mate), Jax was always the little girl who was a thorn in his side and their parents were best of friends. 3 years previously there had been a disagreement during a game of monopoly and neither had spoke to each other but now Jace is back and things change immeasurably!

Their story is one that shouldn’t work but it does and their love for each other is palpable and you feel it on the words that Vi writes.

I love that the title is in Spanish as it reflects the main character’s ethnicity (Jax) and I love the way that when she is really angry or at the height of passion she flips to her native words! It just adds those extra touches to a great book!

I’ll be honest I wanted more, which is always a good sign that I’m invested in a book 😊

Jace and Jax’s story was the perfect mixture of angst between two people that are impossible not to like. The night that he said something he never should have had left Jace in remorse ever since and Jax angry and not willing to forgive him for her past hurts but once he’s back in her orbit it’s harder then she thought the keep her anger

I loved this book and I fell in love with Jax and Jace. This was a beautiful, fun read about lifelong friends who, after a silly fight and not speaking for three years, finally come together again and begin a new relationship which develops into a forever love. Jax is absolutely sassy and hysterical in her nature, although she is quite sensitive and does not show it to Jason, and Jason is the kind of man that we love especially with his caring nature. These two have a hot chemistry that is undeniable but it is their story that will keep you wanting more. All the characters were a joy to read and I can only hope that the author keeps writing about these friends who will make you laugh at their banter. Highly recommend this book.

What a freaking fantastic book. Oh boy are Jace and Jax a powers keg ready to blow. I absolutely loved both of these characters. Jace Is a sweetheart that will do anything for his family and friends but one night he says something to his best friends Sister that he will regret for several years. Jax is one wild spirited, loyal kick butt girl and when these two come together there is definitely fireworks going off. Than two pink lines show up. Can these two finally call a truce and try to get along. I truly enjoyed this story and following this couple was a delight. I loved this couple's hea. Highly recommend this book.

Having read Ms.Summers's work before i've been wanting to pick up more of her books! As soon as i saw this one on social media i couldn't wait to read it! I started looking forward to it right away. I picked it up as soon as i could and got into it. I so enjoyed this story!

Jax and Jace's journey captured my attention right from the get go! After a falling out, these two are reunited three years later. I couldn't wait to see how everything would play out for them.

I really liked how these two had history, getting to see them tackle the past as well as their feelings, and the humanness they both showed. I was glad that i got to jump into both of their minds and dig deeper. I really enjoyed the fact that both Jax and Jace had me feeling many things throughout! The chemistry between these two was great!

Jax was such a strong heroine! Jace had me falling for him. From the forbidden aspect to the way i could picture this story, and so many other things in between, I so enjoyed Amor Prohibido!

With Amor Prohibido, Ms.Summers has created such a good read that will pull you in and make you feel so much! I am so looking forward to more from her! Definitely check out her work if you haven't already.

I had no idea what I was going into when I picked up this book. I hadn’t read the blurb and could barely understand the title and while I felt the beginning of the book might have been a little too cliche for my liking, it all fell into place very soon into the story. The beginning was not too lengthy, not to rushed and really set the pace for the rest of the book.

And what a story it was. Jace and Jax were explosive. The sex scenes were hot, the story twisting and turning to keep me reading and the characters so real they needed slapping sometimes. Jax was feisty, vulnerable, raw, real and I couldn’t help but love her. Jace was honourable, noble and while they both needed shaking to their senses sometimes, they were perfect all in their own ways.

Their parents and families and their ‘not everything is perfect in the world’ outlook also made the story more real disclosing their feelings, arguments, flaws and love that made you feel right at home.

While I felt Darren and Callie could have had their own book, Vi has wrapped them and their future up nicely in a beautiful epilogue leaving none of my questions unanswered. All in all, I freaking loved this book, it’s one of my favourites by this author and I look forward to more of her work!

I'm a big fan of the older brother's best friend trope so when I read this blurb I knew I had to give this book a try. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting but I can whole heartedly say that I enjoyed it. Jace and Jax have known each other since Jax was born. They were practically family until 3 years ago when they had a major falling and Jace moved to the city. Now he’s back and it's time to mend fences.

I liked both of these characters. There was real honest and emotional feelings falling from these pages. I do have to admit though, that even though I loved Jax's fight her jump the gun emotional thoughts drove me insane. It's like she wasn't willing to trust Jace and hear him out. They're lack of communication wasn't helping. Other than that I truly enjoyed this book and watching these two fall in love.

Oh my goodness how I adored this book!!! I adore this author with everything in me and I am overwhelmed with emotions at this book!!

I loved Jax’s sass so much!! From the beginning I knew I would love her and just from her interaction with her brother!! This story made me think of my own family and my own life which had me super emotional!! Jax is not like most woman but she is fierce and prideful but we also got to see vulnerability!

Jace kind of threw me at times and had me doubting frequently. As much as I had high hopes for him, I did still have doubts but boy oh boy was this story amazing!!

So many times I laughed out loud, cried and even cussed out one or both of them! I couldn’t help but go crazy with the need to know more each chapter!! I would stay up late and sleep didn’t matter! I have a special place for this book in my heart and loved every moment reading!!

Jax and Jace gave me an escape from real life that was angsty, flirty, feisty, funny and everything in between.
Through all the changes, surprises—both good and bad—Jax and Jace slowly wormed their ways into my heart and gave me all the warm fuzzies.

These two burned up the pages and set the sheets on fire with the spark between them.
Props to Vi for tackling some hard issues with a realistic lens while handling them with care.

I loved Jace and Jax’s story. It’s emotional, full of angst, age gap romance that you won’t put down. These two were friends until words were spoken that ruined their friendship and now Jace returns home, with one thing on his mind and that’s forgiveness from Jax, but that may be easier said than done. They shouldn’t be together, they shouldn’t work, but they do, the chemistry is still there along with the feelings. Will they be able to work through everything and make it out on the other side? Amazing read, loved it.

This is Jace and Jax’s story. Jax is sassy, and strong, but she has a vulnerable side, while Jace has returned to his hometown after an absence of three years, and he is filled with remorse for a broken friendship which may be his biggest mistake, for which he needs forgiveness. The sparks fly between these two when they cross paths. Jace is so caring and protective especially when it comes to Jax, and the chemistry between them is intense and undeniable, and they complement each other perfectly. This is a beautifully written emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, angst, forgiveness, challenges, and love, which leads to a riveting and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This book was so good! It was filled with so many funny and emotional moments! I love the age gap and the brother’s best friend trope and Vi Summers did them perfectly! The book was so well written and I love that Jax was bilingual and her culture was so important to her.

Jace and Jax together were like oil and water in the beginning, and then one night changes everything!! I enjoyed watching these two fight their feelings, insecurities and fears. I loved Jax’s protective as hell brother too!

I recommend this book to everyone that loves age gap, brothers best friend, and a romance that is fought for and makes you hope for an hea! One click this book you won’t regret it!
