After enjoying Laura Greenwood's Jinx Paranormal Dating Agency series I wanted to check out this series too as it seems to have a similar vibe and actually has some overlap with her Jinx series. I picked up Bastet when it was discounted and started it shortly after that. Bastet follows the point of view of Goddess Bastet and second chance romance with god Ptah.

I liked this book. It indeed has a similar vibe to the Jinx series with gods and goddesses who date and the paranormal and mythological vibe to the books. I liked reading about Bastet and Ptah and enjoyed seeing a bit of their powers and them shifting. I liked how Bastet ran a cat sanctuary. I liked the second chance romance, but would've liked to see them address a bit more why it didn't work and why it would now. It just seemed a bit too easy, but I appreciated how low on drama it was. I just wanted to read more about these two together as I liked them.

There is a bit of danger later in the book, while the danger got resolved relatively easy I still thought it added something to the story. I liked how it got them to realize the depth of their feelings as well as how Bastet immediately realizes something is wrong and goes to save Ptah. My favorite part was their first date and them realizing how much they still cared about the other. I also liked how Bastet reconnected with an old friend and how the plot seems to set things up for Laura Greenwood's next book in this series Seth.

To summarize: Bastet is a nice read and was my introduction to this series. I liked the second chance romance between Bastet and Ptah and seeing how they connected again. I would've liked to read a bit more about them and see them date more as well as more about how this second chance would be different. I appreciated how low on drama it was and I especially liked their first date scene. There is a bit of danger and things are set up for the second book by Laura Greenwood in this series Seth. I hope to read that one soon.

This is an exciting fast steamy enjoyable read, Featuring Bastet and Phat and their second chance romance. Been in love before but not seen each other in quite a while when they come across each other at a speed dating night. Just when they decide to give it another go Phat vanishes. Can Bastet and her best friend Menhit save him before his power is drained? It’s a great read and a great addition to the Speed Dating with the Denizens of the Underworld.

Bastet has been hiding away in her cat sanctuary but her sister seems determined to bring her back into the dating world in the form of speed dating. When she shows up she encounters her ex who she's not seen in a very long time. Phat was at the speed dating but wasn't planning to join in till he saw Bastet was taking part in. That was all the needed to reconnect and this time fate seems to be on their sides. However, Phat suddenly goes missing but only Bastet is looking for him. Will she find him before it's to late?

I really like Bastet right from the start she was easy to connect with you couldn't help liking her as she has her cats all around her. I wasn't sure about Phat because they had issues in the past but he ends up having changed so the timing was just right. They have this sizzling connect that just works after all they were fated mates who now can focus on their relationship.

This isn't my first book by the author so I knew I would enjoy her storytelling which I did. This is a sweet little steam romance with a little kidnapping and an adventure that changes both of their lives. I've always found the Egyptian gods interesting and feel like the author did a great job telling their HEA. A quick fast paced story that I devoured in just a few short hours. I can't wait to read more of the Speed Dating of the Denizens of the Underworld series.

I love this storyline of the Denizens of the Underworld Speed Dating at the DeLux Café. Bastet is Goddess of the Underworld of Cats and has been signed up by her best friend to join the speed dating event. Bastet has been in love before with Ptaf and hasn't seen him in centuries but thinks maybe it is time to find someone. But Ptaf is at the event too and when he sits across from Bastet he asks can they please try again. They finally seem to be on the same track and are still in love but then Ptaf disappears. He has been kidnapped by the Sons of Seth to have his magic drained which will kill him. Bastet and her best friend Menhit decide to save him. This is an exciting fast steamy enjoyable read, it kept you on your toes wondering if Bastet will be able to rescue Ptaf now that she has his love again. I loved the love story with Bastet and Ptaf and I'm hoping there will be a book about Menhit in the future too. Fun great read.

I'm loving reading this series and this story is about Bastet, the Egyptian goddess of protection, pleasure, and the bringer of good health and Ptah, the Egyptian god of craftsmen and architecture and keeping world order was an engaging story I loved. This starts when Bastet is tricked by Sekhmet to go to DeLux Club for the speed dating. There she meets her ex, Ptah who decides to join the event when he sees Bastet. What occurs is a wonderful story I couldn't put down and I totally enjoyed. I love Egyptian myth stories and I loved the characters- Bastet with her cats and her ex-Ptah who still longs for Bastet after they split up. I also like that Bastet got the courage to find her man when he didn't show up. This ARC is written by Laura Greenwood, one of my favorite writers and I loved her rendition in this series that I'm loving. This is another great story in this series, what a sweet second chance story. I love Bastet, she is so interesting. She enjoys her life taking care of cats even though they do not necessarily know who she truly is. The humor in the book is perfect and works well in the plot. This story drew me in; it was definitely well thought out. I wanted to keep reading and see how Bastet’s and Ptah's relationship developed, but there is more to it with twist and interesting moments along the way. Bastet was tricked into attending speed dating at De Lux Cafe by her sister who thought she needed to socialise more. There she sees Ptah, her ex and love of her life. Ptah had not intended to take part in speed dating but when he saw Bastet he knew this could be his chance for a second chance with the love of his life. Sweet and steamy the love and chemistry between Bastet and Ptah was amazing. When his life was in danger Bastet knew she could never be apart from him again. Wonderful story with a little danger a lot of romance and a beautiful HEA.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of Bastet by Laura Greenwood. This is the seventh book in the Speed Dating with the Denizens of the Underworld. I am really enjoying this series of reads. Each of the books is by a different author and all the stories revolve around the DeLux Cafe' Speed Dating Events. I love that there is a mix of Gods and mythologies. Bastet's story was a sweet and spicy quick read about a second chance at love. Fast moving and action packed for a quick read! I highly recommend reading the series in the order released to get the maximum enjoyment from the stories.

Bastet's sister convinces Bastet into going to the Speed Dating event at the Delux Cafe where she runs into someone from her past. Ptah and Bastet have a history that goes back thousands of years and she's always loved him. When Ptah gets kidnapped Bastet is determined to find him and things take some interesting turns. This is a second chance at love story with intriguing characters, action, danger, steam, unexpected twists, and a happily ever after. This is a sweet second chance romance. Everything is going great along with several giggles at Goddesses & God's adapting to life in the 21st century. Then the unthinkable happens. Will Ptah & Bastest get their second chance or will an evil cult prevent it? I loved learning more about the various characters and Menhit needs her own book! The characters at times are very relatable others you can't help but laugh. It's perfect for animal lovers too ❤️ A perfect read for the Summer heat, although it brings It's own.

I really enjoyed this book which is part of an excellent series, but can be read on its own. It was well-written with well-rounded characters and a well-thought-out plot. Bastet is a goddess of fertility. She now runs a cat sanctuary. Ptah is the God of builders. He once dated Bastet and never gotten over her. After they reconnected, a group of warlocks capture Ptah causing him to miss his date. With help from a friend, Bastet sets Ptah free and then finally confessed they have always loved each other.
This book was very romantic with steamy bits and some danger to thicken the plot.

Great Take on a Classic Tale

I love the tale of Bast(Bastet) and Ptah. Seeing this version using speed dating puts a. modern twist that is well worth the ride. Who hasn't wondered about a re-do with an ex?

I recommend this for those who want a fast paranormal speed dating ride. There are plenty of laugh out loud moments, suspenseful moments, and romantic moments.

I love the connection with the other speed dating events.

This is amongst the best of second chance stories. Bastet and Ptah blew it when trying to satisfy those who worshipped them. A chance meeting in a modern day setting gets them to try again, but the path is not an easy one. I love the blend of mythological thrown into a modern day setting. Well written with a few surprises, this is a good read.

This is Book 7 of Speed Dating with the Denizens of the Underworld. This is a story for Bastet and Ptah. Well this was a funny love story with these two and their relationship. I loved the danger Ptah finds himself in and whom is his rescuer his ex girlfriend that he has always loved and Bastet has secretly always loved Ptah. I loved how this book ends and can not wait for the next book.

Even gods and goddesses need a second chance a love. Bastet runs a cat rescue and goes to a speed dating event and sees her old flame. Ptah only signs up because he sees her there. Throw in some vengeful worshippers and what’s the worst that can happen? If you enjoy Laura’s writing, you’ll love this book!!. It doesn’t need to be read in order.

I must say I never expected to see a cat goddess and a bull shifter together. Cute story of old, lost love, rekindled. Book 7 in this incredible series, by different Authors was genius! Very interested in seeing Seth included. It makes you wonder who's going to be next.

This is Bastet’s turn at speed dating and when she arrives her ex Ptah is there and he charms his way into making a date with Bastet but Ptah doesn’t turn up for their date and that’s when Bastet knows that something is wrong so she goes to save him. Very forgettable. I think I would have enjoyed it had there been more than "hey, we are ex lovers and we met up and still like each other" and then a very minor inconvenience of a "kidnapping" thrown in. It was a short story and I knew that going in, but it was very bleh and flat despite what could have been a really cool idea. Nearly DNF'd just because I was bored.

I love second chances. Bastet and Phat bump into each other after hundreds of years. At you guessed it speed dating at the De lux cafe. Things are different now so maybe things will work out for them. Plenty of hot sex and a kidnapping but I can't wait for the next story

This is a unique romance with elements of Egyptian deities. Bastet is such an interesting character and I love the development of hers and Ptah's relationship. This is a very engaging read that had me hooked. Overall their story is sweet, steamy, and exciting.
