A very well written book! A very sad story, but a story that needs to be heard. Page-turner.

So horrible and sad to see what the staff at the Children's Homes did to these poor children, who were already going through such a hard time. I can't believe how unjust the world was back in the 1950's! Good on Les for fighting for recognition and an apology - not just for himself, but for his brothers and sister, his friends and other housemates too - from the government for what it put thousands of children through, turning a blind eye to child abuse, mental, physical and sometimes sexually, after 50 years of silence and running from his past. A horrible story, but an inspiring story too.

this book is many parents and childs worst nightmares rolled into one. i couldn't put it down until it was finished, it made my heart sink more with every word i could almost invision the acts that were made against this young boy. i realized times were rough then but didnt imagine for it to be at such a high magnitude this book opened my eyes alot. as a mum myself not only that but it made me greatful for always having my parents to ;ove and support my every move. THIS IS A MUST READ BOOK!
