This polyamorous monster romance was intriguing, expansive and adorable all at the same time. The worldbuilding and lore was detailed and clever, and Katiana was strong, likeable, and very easy to root for. I particularly loved the relationship she had with her mum. Manny was awesome too, and I thought his mental health issues were written with sympathy and care. My fave, of course, was Voam the agender winged warrior who fell from the sky. They turned out to be so sweet, and the chapters written from their POV, as they try to make sense of their feelings for Kat, Manny, and Earth as a whole, were fascinating. I gave a little cheer when the trio got their HEA. This looks to be first in a series - not sure if it will be more adventures with Kat, Manny & Voam or if other characters will take centre stage but either way I can’t wait to read more stories set in this universe!

Despite the eerie dangers of this world there's a lot of warmth and laughter too, I enjoyed spending time with all three of our main characters and getting to see Katiana juggle everyday tasks like classes with learning about her magic, and Manny, and Voam, too. A fun story that leaves you in a great mood and totally excited to read the next book! This debut knocked it out of the park. I LOVE the prose, style AND voice!

A fresh voice in paranormal romance!
First off, this was a lot more exciting than I was expecting. As this is a part of a multi-authored series of monster romances, I was expecting this to be steamy, but it's actually clean. (And I didn't miss the steam at all.)
The world building was intruinging, and the plot was fast-paced and exciting. We have magic, peril, witches, vampires, and an original monster. And the romance was beautiful. I loved how each of the main characters were unique and had their own arcs.
Catte achieved a lot here. Besides being a damn good novella, this was also incredibly diverse. There was LGBTQ+ rep (bi main characters, agender main character, polyamorous relationship), POC rep (Latin hero and Black heroine), plus-sized rep (heroine), and disability rep (sickle cell disease, side character).

I really adored these characters who are thoroughly and believably sketched. Vespermano's descriptions are enthralling! The world-building and lore are strong, too.
The unexpected found family, which included mom, made my heart soar the most though!
I look forward to the next book.

Okay this is super cute and for a short work has immersive world building and also super interesting back stories for the characters. I loved how they teamed up to protect each other and the sweetness of the polyamory and how it took lots of open communication to figure it all out.

One of those books where you go, 'I really like this world! I can't wait to dive into the author's backlist'... only to find out there's no backlist. ~sob~
