Simplified Chinese edition of Benji's New Friends by Jillian Harker, illustrated by Gill McLean. In Simplified Chinese. Distributed by Tsai Fong Books, Inc.
Benji's New Friends by Jillian Harker is a story about a teddy bear who wants to play with others. He discovers that there are a lot of toys who are willing to play including Dottie the Giraffe, Rosie the Rabbit, Max the Monkey, and Humph the Hippo. They all went to the kitchen to get food and that's when they saw a cat. All the toys, apart from Benji the Bear was scared. They ended up going back to the bedroom and then decided to play in the garden the next day.
Looking for a simple bed time story? This is it. It’s a very quick read about Benji feeling lonely, making new friends, and going on quick adventure for the night.
My son and I read this to his little sister (3 months) and she was alert throughout the reading and he enjoyed it as well.
Probably the worst bedtime story I have ever encountered. My toddler was completely disinterested in a story with such an uninspiring storyline. As for the complexity... Why have five characters and develop none of them? I doubt the book will even burn well next time I need some kindling. 1 star.
This book is very similar to "Thank you for being my friend" and that is because it is the same illustrator and she put Cleo in the book, but under another character. Still, my 3 yr-olds insist that it is Cleo. Adorable book. I like to read it a lot because my girls enjoy it. Humph is my favorite.
A sweet story with cute illustrations. With names such as Benji, Dottie, and Humph, I felt the characters would have Southern accents... just me? Possibly. My 7 month old liked them anyway.
