Romantic Revelations #3

Principles of Pleasure

Rate this book
All she could give him was one night? Sure, he’ll take it. Every chance he got.

Principles
Noun: fundamental truths or propositions that serve as the foundation for a system of belief or behavior.

Having a conscience was a pain , Jasmine Sanchez concluded. It didn’t matter that she met the one guy in all of New York City who could make her laugh and lust all night. He was, on principle, forbidden.

What started as a Groupon tour turned into the worst deal of her life—an irresistible hockey player she's not allowed to touch.

Pleasure
Noun: a feeling of happy satisfaction and enjoyment
Adjective: intended for entertainment rather than business
Verb: give sexual enjoyment or satisfaction

Two out of three ain’t bad, Travis Bear consoled himself. Smart, cheerful, and endlessly entertaining, Jasmine Sanchez was the best public relations agent he could ask for. She also happened to be perfect for him in every way.

Now all he had to do was convince Jasmine that he was perfect for her. Because until they were together, there would be no pleasure—sexual or otherwise.

This is the tale of Jasmine and Travis who meet on a Groupon Tour and have a passionate 24 hours together.

Fast forward 6 months and Travis is now a high flying hockey player and Jasmine is moving up in the PR world. Cue the unexpected meeting between them again.

At times I wanted to give Jasmine a shake for being so cold at times towards Travis. Travis is a sweet guy next door style main character who doesn’t appear to have a mean bone in his body.

I felt this story was well written romance with medium to high levels of heat in their relationship.

This book can be read in series order or as a standalone.

I absolutely loved this book. The instant attraction between Jasmine and Travis upon first meeting on a Groupon Tour and the passion that night. We all wish to have this in our real lives. This is a hockey romance with a public relations agent. It is steamy, and has angst and periods of miscommunication between the two MC and plenty of laughter. I highly recommend reading this book, it was a very nice read.

This is the second book by Laura Marquez Diamond I have read.

Jasmine Sanchez is a public relations agent. She and Travis met during a Groupon Tour and immediately had an instant attraction toward each other. Travis Bear is smart, entertaining, and a hockey player. This story was a well-written romance between Jasmine and Travis! I loved this book so much!

I received this book for an ARC read and to give an honest review.

Principles of Pleasure was another delight written by Laura Marquez Diamond! I really enjoyed it, and it was nice to have a cameo of Jake from a previous book.
Based on the epilogue, I can't wait to dive into Carlos's book. I'm sure I'll love it too.

This is the first book I've read by Laura and I'm glad I dipped my toe in.

This is everything I could have wanted from a fairly sweet hockey romance. After a sizzling night together Jasmine didn't expect their paths to ever meet again, and when the do it's not the incredible reunion Travis is hoping for.

I loved how Travis was soft in all the right ways but not afraid to hold fast when it comes to what's important to him. Jasmine I wanted to shake on more than one occasion but she got there in the end. I also liked the sensitive way aspects of hockey and native American symbols was covered.

Well written with some fantastic steam I'll deff be checking out her back list.

I went from one DNF by this author to another one. At 5% I’m calling it quits. I *almost* gave up a couple pages ago when the term “weeping center” was used , but soldiered on, only to read that Jasmine screamed through her convulsions and I’m like, ma’am, please see a doctor.

Four sentences later, “her scream mixed with his roar”. The next paragraph: “They made love all night”. This sex scene is super passive and sounds utterly painful, but not in a good way.

Somehow this feels like it was written in like 1996. Maybe this author isn’t for me.

Principles of Pleasure by Laura Marquez Diamond
An Indigenous NHL star, YES PLEASE!
Women in Sports Heck Yeah! Jasmine is handling PR for an NHL club and its players.
When Travis comes to Jasmine's apartment with period supplies and takes care of Jasmine while she feels like death, triple swoon. And he's an only child, not someone who grew up with a bunch of sisters. ❤️❤️❤️
There is a phenomenal discussion about racist sports mascots and stereotypes of our Indigenous Relatives.

A wonderful read from Laura. This is the first time I've read anything by her and it won't be the last!

Jasmine and Travis meet in such an unconventional way, in the form of being on a Groupon tour. Definitely never read that one in a book before! They then meet unexpectedly 6 months later and the steam in this is spot on.
