Kellan and MaKayla
This book is spinoff of the Savage Kings MC series. The Hawthorne family business is run by Kellan’s grandmother and since her sons don’t seem fit to run it, she has made some stipulations for Kellan in order for him to take over the family business. One of those entails to be married and have a child. Not so bad but when one woman walks away, he needs another to fill the bride’s position. That’s where MaKayla comes in.
This book was packed full of lies and suspense that made it hard to put down. This was a quick read that had my attention from the very beginning.
This book is spinoff of the Savage Kings MC series. This book picks up where Jake & Leighton’s story left off. McKayla is Leighton’s best friend and ends up married to Kellen (Leighton’s ex-fiancé). McKayla is opposite of Leighton – she is feisty, sassy and thicker! She is not a pushover and stands up for herself. She does however lack self-confidence and cannot believe that Kellen would even be interested in her. From Jake’s story, we believed that Kellen was an egotistical, cruel a-hole. However, as you read the story, we get to see the real side of Kellen. He had another side to him that only McKayla got to see.
I enjoyed this spin-off and was so drawn into the story that I read it in one sitting! You’ve got kidnappings, deception, a roller coaster of emotions, realizations, passion and one hell of a setup! It ends on a cliffhanger and I am anxious to read Lucas’ and Taryn’s story!

I like it.
Fast pace, sexy with an ahole H and strong headed h.
He was trully an a$$ at first. Good thing the h is strong and not a meak girl.
Love the smegsi scene.
The H/h do have their HEA, but the drama with his sister make the H/h problem feel too rush and too easy to be solve.

We have Kellen and McKayla's story. What a story it is. We are seeing their side of the story. Were before we seen Jake's and Leighton's side of the story. Can't wait for Luke's story to come out and see where this leads. Since Luke has Kellen's sister. Do you think Mckayla can accept what Kellen did? Will his family try to kill her and the savage kings, because Leighton left him at the alter?.

Although some of this book rehashed the Leighton and Jake story, the Kellen and McKayla portion was interesting. I finished this book in one day. Good storyline and it kept my interest. .

A great story, by one of my favorite authors, in which we are introduced to Kellan & McKayla. The book is a Savage Kings MC spin off. It is a quick, easy read, and I finished it in one-day. The storyline was fast paced, and held my interest. The book ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I am definitely looking forward to seeing how the storyline progresses in the next book.

I am going to preface this review with my standard disclaimer. I did receive a copy of this book in advance of its release from Booksprout. I did agree to provide a review of this book. I did not agree to provide a good review of this book, so any thoughts, notes, or opinions are still my own.
This was a good book. I'm rating it three stars, but I mean that in a good way? If that makes any sense.
For starters, some background. This book is a spin-off from an existing Lane Hart MC series, The Savage Kings of South Carolina. This particular book does have some cross-over elements from the last book in that series, Jake, in that the story being told was originally told from the point of view of some of the characters in this book. Now we're seeing the other side of the story - the story of Kellan and McKayla - and I do like being able to experience the story from another perspective
The story moved quickly and while there was some exposition from the first story it didn't bog things down. I actually appreciated the refresher. This is definitely a spicy book - Kellan and McKayla establish their sexual relationship very quickly. But the sex was there to enhance the story, it wasn't the main point of the book. I always give points for that.
In terms of character development, I have grown particularly fond of Kellan's grandmother. I want to be her when I grow up. Also, the FMC, McKayla, is great. She's got heart but isn't a push-over, and she sounds like someone I want to be friends with. Also, I always love a plus-sized heroine. It's nice to hear myself described as the main character of the story and not as the quirky side bestie for comic relief. The supporting players were made up largely of Kellan's family and were a little one-note. They were largely caricatures, not really fleshed out enough for me to draw an opinion on them, except to say that they caused problems for Kellan and McKayla and therefore I have to assume I'm not supposed to like them.
The problem that I had with this book is around the MMC of Kellan and unfortunately because he's the MMC it's a problem that is hard to ignore. I really struggled to see any side of him that I wanted to root for. He's one of the villains of the story - this isn't a good guy. But normally in mafia romance stories the anti-hero is going to do something that will in some way redeem themselves - they'll say or do something that shows that they have a heart under the gruff exterior, that they're worthy of saving, and that they're deserving of love. I didn't see that with Kellan. He was just a jerk who was good in bed. Every now and then he would say or do something that would make me think "Oh, here it comes, he's going to be a better person"......and then it would either be self-serving or he would somehow screw it up.
So, would I recommend this book? Yes, I would still recommend it, particularly to anyone who has already read the Savage Kings series. It's a great spin-off and there's definitely potential for the future here. And there is still some good storytelling going on. But if Kellan had hit that road to redemption, I probably would have bumped this up to a four-star review. I just can't do it while I hate the guy.

Kellen/McKayla. I liked this book better the past couple of books from the series. I didn't know that this book existed I just stumbled upon it. Even though the romance side of the story is kind of unbelievable (McKayla and Leighton situation); I really liked Kellen's family drama issues which kept my interest to this story than just the romance side. I definitely have to read Lucas/Taryn's story to find out the conclusion.

Savage Prince was an unexpected surprise. This book is a spin off of the Savage Kings MC-South Carolina chapter and should be read after Jake’s book as it continues along the same storyline. Kellan Hawthorne needs a bride, and he needs one quickly. McKayla happens to be in the wrong place after telling Kellan that Leighton will not be marrying him. This is a fast-paced story full of action, drama, and great chemistry between Kellan and McKayla. The conclusion is a cliff-hanger which will lead us into the next book in the Savage Kings MC-South Carolina chapter. I am looking forward to that book to see how this storyline progresses. I love Kellan’s brothers and grandmother. I hope that each of the Hawthorne brothers get to tell their own story. This is a great book that I hope turns into the next series!

Buckle up this is a wild ride, dangerous men, alpha personified, possessive, oh, so gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a deliciously story 😊. There will be guilt, suspense, a little violence, lies, lies, lies, and then you have hope, and love.
By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
Can’t say I didn’t warn you.
Okay guys take a seat for this one if you liked the Savage Kings series you are going to love this spin off but be warned once you start it you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. Kellen sexy as all get out vicious alpha who usually takes what he wants but this time his grandmother head of the family it orchestrating everything she has given him one year to prove himself since by far he is the only one with a head on his shoulders to run the Hawthorne family business because her son his father is a drunk, his uncle can’t stay away from everything and she refuses to allow the memory of her husband be tarnished by the two idiots. So, she is giving it to him with conditions one he must stop sleeping with the help, get a wife and start a family immediately with that wife be faithful to her and her only. Kellen isn’t sure how he feels about any of it although he knows his grandmother is right about his father and uncle, also failure isn’t an option otherwise everything they own will go to charity so he will do what needs to be done to protect his family and keep his sister from marring some sleaze that his father promised her to. McKayla hasn’t had an easy life with a gold digger for a mother, one who too busy to attend her high school graduation, or tell her to lose a few pounds to find a man because she is on the curvier side, is meeting up with her best friend at the local bar having walked her cars gives out and waiting for her friend to show up when this sexy as all get out man offers to pay for her panties …. 😊yep you read that right. Kellen notices the curvy women from the very beginning attracted to her like he has never been yet not understanding any of it because most times he isn’t attracted and this is where he request to pay for her panties as a sort of test but once she accepts the money it is like she failed the test but his attraction didn’t go away in fact it is more intense especially after walking away from her with her best friend Leighton with a model body she assumed it was because of her curves disappointing but McKayla was use to it. Now fast forward six months into the year on his wedding day with McKayla best friend and Leighton do not want to marry Kellen he has shown her the darkness, but also, she isn’t happy being his doormat, he is controlling, just many cards staked against him that she wants out and of course being her best friend McKayla goes to inform him and give him back his ring. But Kellen isn’t leaving that church without being married so he forces McKayla (the women he really wanted) since Leighton has ran off and isn’t coming back, now she is his wife in return for him not hurting any of her friends guest or her for that matter, the minute they finish their vows, he must consummate the marriage on video which he of course sends to the women who stood him up (without a condom) to start on the second part of the stipulations but will it play out as planned, will he inherit the family business, will he make McKayla happy, will his father/uncle accept what their mother have set, and how will it all end (I HATE CLIFFHANGERS!!!!)?

on the fence
My first time dabbling in this MC world these two authors have created and I’m wondering if I should try reading from the very beginning of the original savage kings series and then all the other mc chapters as well to get a better feel for this universe. Because although I am a huge fan of Lane Hart and i quite enjoyed this pair’s work, I just didn’t love it.
Like I’m even wondering if they should have even tried delving into mafia culture or not, because I don’t think this story even needed to exist. It just seems like a prequel to Jake’s and then Lucas’ story. Because I checked to see if there’s more of this particular spinoff and no more has been released.
I liked the idea of Kellen and McKayla. They were ok. She had a bit of an edge to her, but only when it came to Kellen. And Kellen was such a d!@k my goodness he really took the cake. This story had a lot going on, almost to the point of being ridiculous. I kept reading because I wanted to know if there were any redeemable qualities in either character tbh. Their steamy connection was really enjoyable not gonna lie, but I just was constantly going huh at how convoluted the whole marriage plot was. I know Leighton wasn’t upset about being replaced which was kinda odd. But I thought eww towards McKayla never once being a better friend and telling her bestie to stay away from Kellen.
Like for so many reasons!!!! One, their first encounter was super sexually charged! I would have definitely shared the deets with my bestie, heck anyone in the ladies room lol!!! And secondly, he would on more than one occasion hit on her behind Leighton’s back. Where’s the girl code?! I was like oh this was definitely written by a man lmao!!! It just seemed so forced to me.
Also another reason why I’m on the fence with this whole situation is because I wanted more time with this couple. They were so OTT obsessed with each other and just constantly wanting to be going at it which I was here for but I just wanted them to have more time together. Like I was hoping we’d get more info about whether or not she does get pregnant. I guess I’ll have to read Lucas’ story to see if they have any information about that or not? It was a bit off putting about how quickly things escalated between them since he had been with another woman for 6 months despite the two of them denying their attraction. It’s a pretty crude story I guess. It’s got good flow and humor so I didn’t overthink things too much while reading but now I’m like what did I just read lol?
It’s good. Definitely debating whether or not to keep going with the whole series.

Because I was about to grab a new book from 2 of my favorite authors and a genre that I absolutely love.
Mafia... Hell yeah.
Lane Hart and DB West have created some of my favorite books and their writing completes each other.
It's raw, wild, intense, and super hot...

One side note, you need to read this entire series, The Savage Kings, South Carolina, but if you can't, it's imperative that you read Jake.

It's so not fair...
Perfect plot, very well written, super engaging, and intense.
Each chapter was even more addictive than the latest and I couldn't stop reading it.
Things were happening in a way that was impossible to stop...
Nor did I want to, if I'm being honest.
These characters worked perfectly with each other and were super stubborn...
So good.
And the hot stuff... Oh lord... It melted my panties... Lol
Now I'm left like this... Sad and super curious to know more, to read more.

It's so not fair...
Perfect plot, very well written, super engaging, and intense.
Each chapter was even more addictive than the latest and I couldn't stop reading it.
Things were happening in a way that was impossible to stop...
Nor did I want to, if I'm being honest.
These characters worked perfectly with each other and were super stubborn...
So good.
And the hot stuff... Oh lord... It melted my panties... Lol
Now I'm left like this... Sad and super curious to know more, to read more.
Great book Lane and D.B. so good.

In this spin off from the Savage Kings MC series, the reader gets a different perspective on the events of Leighton and Kellen's planned wedding day described in "Jake." Seeing the events of that day from the view of the MC, I really expected to hate Kellen. However, learning his motivations, understanding his goals and the pressures on him and seeing how he interacts with McKayla, I really began to like this troubled man.
Kellen is in danger of losing everything unless he can meet his grandmother's demands to settle down and start a family. The tough-as-nails matriarch, while she seems self-centered and unreasonable, really just understands what Kellen needs to balance himself and set himself up to succeed in life. Raised by an abusive and absent father and having to take on great responsibilities at a young age, Kellen is a bit arrogant and ruthless - it's these character traits that enable him to do the job that's been entrusted to him. Unfortunately, it hasn't prepared him to create successful relationships with others. When he meets McKayla, he sees the strength and beauty in her that she cannot see in herself.
In this story, we are introduced to new characters and events outside of the MC that forms the center of the Savage Kings series. While still related to events in that series, new mysteries arise and a new villain is lurking.
The author has a unique talent to show the softer side and those redeeming qualities in the bad boys she writes. Her flawed heroes reflect the reality of most of us - most of us are not inherently good or inherently bad, but a sum of the decisions we make based on our personality, experience and circumstance.

Keelen heir to a fortune thats been one by the lies and corruption of others couldn't be anymore smarmy and corrupt and till he interacts with McKayla more he's just so ugh I really disliked him but McKayla smothed his dirty edges out but first he fools her bestfriend Leighton into and engagement she thinks hes slightly possive and controlling but okay but McKayla knows the real jerk underneath those million dollar suits after all the man bought her panties what a fiasco.

McKayla dosen't like being told what to do so why dose Mr. dangerous aka Keelen keep asking for her panties hes engaged to her friend this isn't going to end well if only she had just kept her panties on the first time now she has to tell the groom his future bride has split and he's not getting married well his gun says otherwise now she's the new wife.
So this book has one crazy moment after the next all three girls in this book come of as imature but it's still a good read with kidnappings and shootouts what's next well Taryn Kelley's sister has her own problems all because of her shifty corrupt father maybe her kidnapper Lucas of the Savage Kings MC can save her from the evil coming for her in the next book.

Overview-
Kellan heir to the Hawthorne empire and Mafia Prince is given an ultimatum by his grandmother. He must find a wife and conceive a child within a years time otherwise the entire family fortune will be donated to charity. Enjoying a good challenge he accepts.
That night Kellen sees McKayla and he’s instantly drawn to her. She’s waiting to meet her bff, Leighton, at a bar when he offers to buy her a drink then her panties. Things heat up quickly after that. I found myself upset on McKayla behalf by the way Kellen treated her once he met Leighton immediately after their sexy encounter. Through his eyes he thought Leighton would make a perfect obedient wife whereas McKayla, by accepting his money in exchange for her panties, was too interested in his money.
The story progresses quickly thereafter leading into the failed wedding of Kellen and Leighton.
I disliked Kellen in Jake and Leighton’s book but found myself rooting for him in Savage Prince. I thoroughly enjoyed the chemistry between Kellen and McKayla and found myself unable to put the book down.
If you’re familiar with the Savage King MC books then you’ll know it really shouldn’t be read as a standalone. It should be read btw Jake (10) & Lucas (11).
I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars because the story felt unfinished as it leads into the next book.
I look forward to seeing how Kellen and McKayla as well as Lucas and Taryn’s story unfolds in the next book titled Lucas.

Six months ago, Kellen’s grandmother informed him that he had a year to find a genuine life partner that would love him and he her. They also had to be pregnant within that year. She’s decided that he is the only member of her family, the Hawthorne’s, who is capable of controlling their families media assets and everything else. Failure is not an option or she will begin to liquidate all of their assets and leave them all with nothing.
McKayla is on a night out with her best friend Leighton when she first meets Kellen. In the busy bar, while waiting for her to arrive, Kellen approached her and asked her how much it would cost him for her panties. Stunned when he started putting £100’s of dollars in front of her, he paid her $5000. Then Leighton arrived. Kellen proceeded to chat her up best friend as if nothing had happened, but McKayla never forgot that first encounter.
The day of the wedding arrived and Leighton couldn’t go through with it. She left to go and get into McKayla’s car while she went to break the news to Kellen and collect her purse. But the next thing she new, she was now his wife and he’d already consummated the marriage!
This is a well written a, and thoroughly enjoyable twist on the book Jake from the Savage Kings MC. It fills in the gaps and is written from the POV of Kellen, (the seemingly bad guy in Jake), and McKayla, (the victim in Jake). Although the majority is in effect the same story, don’t worry as it’s a completely different and refreshing angle to it. Excellent.

Just WOW! This storyline gets better and better with each new release!
So, after reading Jake, I felt McKayla was a really bad friend to Leighton. Additionally, I was not a huge fan of Kellen either. Well...
After reading this one, my opinions are certainly altered.
I left Jake's story angry with both of these characters, but I am not as upset about how it all happened as I was before. I understand more of what and why, and absolutely appreciate the creativity and craftsmanship of this story.
I appreciate the connections between these characters and their drama. Steamy chemistry, violence, family loyalty and betrayals! Love it!
Honestly, I read this story straight through. It was impossible to put down. I should have known this was going to happen, because it has with every other book in this series.
These authors (and this series) have given me some of my very favorite characters. I know whenever I open one of their stories, I'm in for a fantastic time. I cannot wait to see where this story goes!
I strongly recommend reading this book in the correct reading order to get the most from the story and series.

Congratulations to Ms. Lane Hart and Mr. D.B. West for another thrilling release. Everything's that I have ever had the pleasure to read of theirs is always an incredible must devour book, and I assure you that Savage Prince is no different.
Yes, this release is a spinoff to the Savage Kings MC, however, it is a book you can read as a standalone, although, I would definitely read the Savage Kings MC Series first, simply because these are expertly crafted books.
Savage Prince delved deeper into the dangerous situation McKayla finds herself in when she goes above and beyond for her best friend, Leighton. Kellan Hawthorne is a man that doesn't like to be told 'no' in any shape or form and McKayla is about to be shown the extent of his wrath. This couple has come together in a captivating way and while their desire and lust is off the charts, the journey they embark on is 100% engrossing.
Kellan's Grandmother might have given him an ultimatum, but McKayla holds his future in her hands. Loved this release.

Ellie is everyone's favourite person in this small town. She likes helping people and seems how to go about it. Shaun is new in town sees her in a bar and is instantly attracted to her. He is an undercover cop, decompressing and reevaluating following the death of his partner.
He lives her sassy and kind nature, she likes his gruff exterior. Their relationship has a rocky start but develops well as he agrees to help her find her brother. She brings out the best in him. He is protective of her.
Love the characters, their personalities and behaviours towards each other. The squirrel is cute and adds a little humour to the story.

I loved this book! Leighton and Kellen were never right for each other and he knew it, but the constraints of an agreement between himself and his grandmother had him making choices he never would. Kellen should’ve led with his gut and not his head as he put it in the book when it came to McKayla. He needed someone that wanted him for him and not the money and when she took what was offered he walked away, only to learn the truth that Leighton belonged to someone else leaving him at the altar left Kellen with no other options than to take McKayla as his wife. McKayla is feisty, sexy and just what Kellen needs to keep him in place, but she never thought she would end up with the man who ignited so much in her. A proposition is made, vows exchanged and feelings creeping up slowly. So many misunderstandings, a kidnapping (or not), a sister sold to a faceless man who wants what he was promised or else. The Savage Kings are not to be played, can Kellen and Lucas come to an understanding about Taryn and keep her safe until they figure out who this man is she was promised too and keep McKayla safe? Such a great read, I found this on BookSprout. Can’t wait for Lucas and Taryn’s story to see how this all plays out.

Here we're starting at where McKayla & Kellan Hawthorne have their first encounter & then at The Wedding ceremony of how Kellan persuaded McKayla to Marry Him there & then when he what seemed really threatening when we were 'hearing' it from Leighton/ Jake's story.
Here we see that Kellan had wanted a wife whom did as he said & didn't seem to sell out for money unlike the way things were where McKayla was so tempted ONLY as she needed to fix/ get a replacement vehicle.
Anyway we hear how hot 🔥 & connected they are together & why She was in the car with His father Desmond Hawthorne got shot & NOT with Kellan, so his father wasn't that drunk that he can't be a nasty conniving SOB.
But it's the after the explosion of The Clubhouses that things actually seem to become more understanding & honest between McKayla & Kellan & also with The Savage Kings as in this ending they're going to work together to find out who blew the Clubhouses & Whom it is Taryn Hawthorne was promised to....
Which I'm sure we'll see in Lucas.....

A number of surprises throughout the story will keep you guessing on why events are happening & the uprising war between groups when there's a third unknown manipulator stirring the pot. The Savage Kings M/C is involved & they are trying to help Kellen unravel this mess keeping the peace in their town. You'll be drawn into the story, keeping you interested right to the last page. The next book (I hope) will provide the answers to the questions circling in my head.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This book is a Savage King's MC spin off and takes place after Jake the 10th book in the Savage Kings: South Carolina MC series. I would suggest reading that book before you start this one.
Makayla originally met Kellen first but he didn't look twice at her once he met her best friend. She has secretly been crushing on him this whole time. She knows she needs to confess what happened between them before the wedding but her best friend gets cold feet and decides to flee. Leaving her to go explain to the groom.
Kellyn is in line for the next to be the next mafia boss. With his grandmother's healthy fading and her leaving him the family business to carry on. She is pressuring him to find a wife and start a family within a year. So when his fiance leaves him at the altar he grabs her best friend to replace her.

Firstly I need to say that I haven’t read any other books in the Savage Kings series or any other books by these authors.
Saying that it didn’t spoil this book for me in the slightest and I didn’t feel as though I had missed out or had chunks of knowledge missing while reading this book. I wish it was longer, I don’t feel as though McKayla and Kellen really got an ending to their story and I really hope they are in future books. It will be such a shame if they just vanish now it’s just starting to get interesting.
Though it’s an mc spin off book it honestly didn’t feel as though it had much to do with them until the last few chapters and again it doesn’t detract from the book at all, the slightly mafia family feel to the book is more than enough to make it a really good and enjoyable book. Kellen has been told by his grandmother that their entire family legacy will be left solely to him if he fulfills the contractual obligations. Shouldn’t be to too hard right? Oh wait a minute, he has to wed and create an heir all within a year?! And it has to be real?! Yikes! His first encounter with McKayla was extremely steamy but disappointing for Kellen at the same time so when her best friend, Leighton, shows up he decides she’s the one. She’s very amenable so she’ll make the perfect wife. Fast forward to the weeding day where all hell breaks lose. Leighton has second thoughts, McKayla steps in to inform Kellen and the guests, and Kellen makes another life altering decision. Now there’s an MC involved and Kellen’s father is involved in something extremely shady which includes his sister and some Anonymous and extremely dangerous stranger. I can’t wait to see where this all leads!
