All I needed was coffee. Instead, not only did I end up involved in a mass murder, but I also ended up taking home a beautiful, blonde-haired, gray-eyed woman.

She's got a past that she needs protection from.

And I have a thing for playing hero.

O L I V I A

It's my first day on the job, and the unexpected happens.

Someone decided to shoot up the supermarket I'm cashiering at.

Thankfully, there's a man there that acts fast enough to save not only my life, but his. But the shooter and I have history . . .

And Brett is my only chance at survival.

I need a Brett

Boy Brett fell hard and fast st a grocery store no less. Olivia was a cashier. While checking out Brett saved Olivia from a gunman. Quite a bit more to the story but don't want to spoil too much.

I loved the seen with Savage in a tutu.

Brett just wanted to get some coffee at the grocery store - sounds simple enough. He ended up with so much more instead. Olivia had just started her first day at work in a new town. While Brett was paying for his groceries he also noticed the beautiful the new clerk. But while checking her out a gunman came into the store and began shooting. Through his military training and years being an outlaw with the Savage Crows, Brett quickly jumped to action launching himself over the counter to cover Olivia. And that's where their story begins.

Brett shot the gunman in an attempt to diffuse the situation before him and Olivia were added to list of people that died that morning. Knowing the gunman would eventually make bail Brett decided he would protect Olivia. It didn't take long for him to realize that Olivia was running from something. Once the Club started looking into the gunman they found a connection between him and Olivia. When threats were made against her, Brett went into overdrive with his protectiveness.

I love the way Brett handled everything with Olivia's safety. Often times we get the hero promising to keep the heroine safe only for her to either get hurt or kidnapped. But here we have Brett seeing Olivia's anxiety start to take over and he puts her need for feeling safe first. He didn't care what anyone else thought or said, Brett was taking care of his woman's needs above all else. But what else would we expect when he says things like, "...honestly, I'm a goddamn hopeless romantic. I want you to be mine in every damn way that I can claim you." *swoon*

I loved the Savage Crow series and am so excited that we get more with the Mother Charter series. Brett and Olivia's story is fast paced and packed with everything we've come to expect and love with T.O.'s books. Looking forward to Kyle's book.

Good

Pretty good book. Fast paced. I think if it was longer it would've been so much better. Brett is such a sweetie

MC Romances are always my fav!

Who knew stopping at the store for some coffee could lead to so much more?! I enjoyed this story about Olivia and Brett. I loved how he swooped in to protect her no questions asked, as did the MC. Lots of twists, drama, and fast paced but happy ending!

ugh

I was pretty excited to read this due to the reviews. However, I’m really disappointed. I’ve been reading MC novels for a long time and this one was so fast pace but boring all at the same time.. I couldn’t even finish it.. when I start flipping pages to try to find something of Interest it was a losing battle..

I read a ton of MC and I’m confused about some things.

The first thing that threw me was the shooter being out on bond after killing two people, surely bail would have been denied?

It felt like a second or third book and the addition of the other club members really threw me.

No real storyline to speak of and no depth to the characters.

My Rating: ★★★★½

Brett by T.O Smith is a gritty, adrenaline-fuelled dark biker romance that blends danger, survival, and emotional intensity into a story that grips you from the very first chapter. What begins as a normal day spirals into chaos, violence, and an unexpected connection that neither character is prepared for but both desperately need.

Thrown together by a brutal act of violence, Brett and Olivia’s paths collide under extreme circumstances. Brett is the kind of man who thrives in control, with a natural protector instinct and a dangerous edge that makes him impossible to ignore. Olivia, on the other hand, carries a past shaped by trauma and abusive parentals, making her both vulnerable and quietly resilient. Their dynamic starts rough, layered with distrust and tension, but slowly evolves into something deeper, darker, and far more consuming.

One of the standout elements of Brett is its slow-burn enemies-to-lovers progression. The push and pull between Brett’s dominant nature and Olivia’s guarded independence creates a charged atmosphere that simmers long before it ignites. The dominant/submissive undertones feel organic rather than forced, adding intensity to their connection without overpowering the emotional core of the story.

As a biker romance, this book delivers exactly what the sub-genre promises; danger, loyalty, violence, and that unmistakable outlaw edge. There’s just something irresistible about the biker world, and T.O Smith captures it in a way that feels gritty yet grounded, making it easy to sink into and hard to put down. The external threats mirror Olivia’s internal struggles, reinforcing the idea that survival isn’t just physical, it’s emotional too.

Emotionally, Brett carries real weight. Beneath the action and spice lies a story about healing, protection, and finding safety in someone who refuses to walk away. The all the feels factor comes through strongly, especially as Olivia’s past comes into focus and Brett’s hero instincts kick into overdrive.

If I had one critique; I honestly wouldn’t change a thing. The pacing, tension, and emotional beats all worked exactly as intended for me.

I would absolutely recommend Brett to readers who love contemporary dark romance with biker MC vibes, slow-burn enemies-to-lovers tension, dominant MMCs, and emotionally driven stories rooted in survival and protection. It’s intense, gripping, and deeply satisfying; especially if biker romances already have your heart.

It was okay. Huge amounts of plot missing, it jumps around really fast.

I think all I can say is it occupied me when I had insomnia. It had a lot of potential but never got there. It felt like a rush to finish it, and in the process there’s a huge amount missing. For example the first time they have sex, Brett pulls out before he finishes, as he doesn’t use a condom, it doesn’t say if he c*mes or not. It’s just a little bit of the plot missing but it’s annoying.

Brett meets Olivia when the store she works in is held up, and Brett saves her life. He instantly knows she’ll be his. 🥱 How? She could be married with three children for all he knows. Sigh. As it becomes obvious that Olivia is in danger, he vows to protect her. By taking her to his house, to the clubhouse, to his house, then to the other club. Wow yeah she’s in loads of danger. 😂

Of course they fall in love and have loads of sex, but I still don’t know anything about Brett. Has he got parents? Brothers, sisters? How did he end up in the Mc? Then there’s Olivia who was orphaned at 15, who brought her up after? Was she in care? There’s a whole chunk of time missing from when she was 15, to 24. The timeline doesn’t match the plot of her running across the country, because she saw something at 15.

As I said before, it passed some tine while I couldn’t sleep.one last thing, why no road names?

Brett is going to the grocery store to get some Tylenol for his headache, of course there is always someone that needs something else, so coffee as well. He goes to register and there is gorgeous new clerk, next thing you know there is gun fire. He dives over the register to protect her, and he knows he will be protecting her forever.

The chemistry between Brett and Olivia was so hot, she know all about him, but feels safe. I loved this book, of course I am a big MC fan, touch guys with big hearts. They will do anything to protect theirs, illegal or otherwise. Cannot wait for the next in the series.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Brett and Olivia are hot as hell and their chemistry is off the charts. I love how he saved her in the store and continued to be her knight in dark armor. Also I loved seeing Olivia beat down Jordan when she pushed Jayla down and was protecting her like a mama bear protects her cubs. It was great to see the sweet little Penny attack Jordan for hurting her kid. I’ve missed these characters and I am excited to delve deeper into their stories. This is a must read for sure and I can’t wait to see what happens next with the rest of the guys in the Mother Charter.

Book Review: Brett by To Smith —-> 3⭐️ 2🌶️

I devoured Brett in less than 3 hours, which shows how easy and fast-paced it is to read. This book is perfect for anyone looking for a simple, no-fuss yet enjoyable story.

The characters are well-described, making it easy to connect with them. The plot is straightforward and predictable, but that’s exactly what makes it great for a light, relaxing read. If you enjoy quick, uncomplicated books with a fast-moving story, Brett is definitely worth picking up.

📚 A great choice for a cozy evening or a lazy afternoon!

Fast Paced Hotness

Oh man, I absolutely loved Savage Crows Texas Charter books and the start to this series did not disappoint!
I love the instant connection between Brett and Olivia. I also love the connection between the MC brothers and how they all look out for each other.
My only minor con is that it wasn’t long enough. I do know that these books are fast and hot and heavy, I’m just being greedy and wanted more of Brett and Olivia.
I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series!

Imma give this book three and a half stars. It's short and quick paced but I do love a possessive man who protects his woman. I also like the fact that she proposes to him, it makes a change when the MFC takes charge of something. I love the banter and humour and it's topped off with the MMC getting his revenge and nice little HEA. Can't do better than that. For less than 150 pages it's a simple does-what-it-says-on-the-tin biker club romance.

Took a while to finish.. 3 and a half ⭐️'s

Not a bad read, but just a tad bit slow to get through, which was interesting as the book isn't long by any standards. I couldn't really feel the chemistry between Brett and Olivia, and the spicy scenes were ok at best. This was my first read for this series, and it did feel slightly rushed. The plot was overly simple, and the conclusion was anticlimactic. Solid 3 and a half stars on this because, as I stated, it's not a bad read.

Fun and quick

Brett is a fun & quick read, with interesting characters loved Brett's personality and Olivia she might have come across a bit fragile to start with, but she was fierce and not afraid to stand up and defend others when needed. Insta attraction and love, sexy times, MC family and a bit of action perfect for an evenings entertainment

Quickie

Basically an insta- love story.
There was some dramatic violence as well.
I do wonder how many times a person can get shot in the knees before it affects their ability to walk.
I probably won't seek out the next book in the series, but if I stumble across this author again, I won't mind.

such potential

I was so excited to read this book but it flopped and it flopped HARD! There was so much potential for this book to be amazing if there just would have been more meat to the story. This could have been an awesome love story had the characters had time to develop a relationship that we could see growing. I won’t be continuing the series.

The story line was good, but there was no development of anything. They just threw in characters without an explanation, mentioned a close relationship that they never explained, there was no build up to the romance, not even with it being insta-love.

This is my first read from T.O. Smith, I feel this book was rushed. No depth to the characters nothing really to draw you in. It was super quick read, I did finish to see what happened. Not impressed
