I am no fan of the online game story concept and over-powered players terrorising npcs all the time. Once again, i found myself uninterested in the real life events and more and more skimmed over them.

I found the first book mostly okay (besides the idiocy of the protagonist), but the 2nd book had even more dull real life plot and insisted on diluting the story even more by showing dungeon delving from the perspective of some side character.. I fear the series is just not for me..

Criticism and comments

The protagonist's choices are a bit bizarre. He wants to be a leader without fighting skills and refuses getting magic skills.

The first two fights were huge f# ups - you don't throw your main weapons away when you could have fought as a phalanx - especially against such ridiculous enemies!

The permanent use of American military language is aggravating.

The "duel" was a real shameful experience. 3 squads hardly won against two level 2 players... #rofl#

The protagonist is an idiot regarding finances..

The protagonist's decisions before final fight against the spiders was absolutely moronic. Why would he attack knowing that he can't win? Why not get reinforcements?

He is old and his memory is failing, but his son loves him and found a way that he might be able to be with his family again by putting him into a virtual world to help rebuild what he had lost. Something happened and he ended up in the biggest game in the world and he started to grew and remember his family. It was not an easy road to walk he is one of the last living soldiers in the world and he got to fight again in a younger virtual body and he made a few friends in game and battled both players and NPCs. The best part to me was that his granddaughter became his friend and her being there helped him remember his family.

The Limitless Lands series is one of my favourites books series that I have read. Following the commander is incredibly interesting and at times it feels like that the author has a lot of personal experience with a characters such as the MC of the books and that he holds a great value of the spent time with that person.

I enjoyed the books. I would have enjoyed learning more about how things turned out after the battle was won in limitless lands.

Great series

I would definitely definitely advise anyone to read this series as it gives into the Mind of both military and VR.

It’s a good book when the main character, a Commander of the army, or in this case a legion inspires me to fight in a chaotic war that I am only reading about.

On a side note, great series. Distinguished and admirable MC who although has the demeanor of a U.S. Army commander, he still contains a sense of humor.
