Why, oh why couldn’t he have plot armor? After waking up as a "bad guy" inside his favorite anime, stopping a royal kidnapping, and headbutting one of his character's bullies, Aren was finally ready to begin his academy arc... but then the plot screwed him over.
Something is stirring in the mountains and it’s driving the native monsters wild, forcing them to migrate toward the academy. And not even the academy, with all its enchantments and defensive barriers, could survive unscathed if they decided to attack.
To make matters worse, the students of the academy are acting strange. They're treating Aren like he's the villain he was written to be, and he can't imagine why. Only Kami has remained by his side through it all. If they somehow manage to survive the horde of monsters heading their way, Aren and his fellow students will soon be forced onto an entirely different battlefield.
But, hey, at least Aren is the only one who knows the truth of a far-off future and can act to prevent the worst from coming to pass… Right?
Poor Aren as though finding himself waking to a life inside his favourite anime series was not enough of a nightmare, he had to be cast as the bad guy too, however he knew the script and was adamant he would change his life this time around. He was about to start his scholastic career at the academy and was looking forward to his 1st year, but it seems fate had other things in store for him. Ziral was under threat of monsters and for some reason the students were treating him as the bad guy he was supposed to be so he ended up with only Kami by his side, so could he divert the danger they were all facing since he was the only one to know the outcome? or was it fated and not to be changed? Aren was a summoner and not an arcanist so could not follow in his father's footsteps which was just as well as in the series Aren was a total wreck trying for magic he did not possess he ended up damaging his core. But this Aren was powerful, he had opened a shadow gate and had power over creatures who did his bidding. He had a family to save, a country to help fix, an academy to re-build and a girl waiting for him. All in a day's work huh! but why did he feel as though the script was being written in real time? I love the character of Aren as well as his sense of humour, I also like Kami and Gesshin and the way Aren addresses Gesshin, the Emperor who wanted him as his son-in-law, but I hated the cliffhanger ending which came about so abruptly and I cannot wait to read book 3 in this very exciting series.
This was a fun read and improvement on first one as details was fully inserted when seemed be lot missing in 1st book.
Looking forward to next book and hope he maybe use and learn his offer magics he scored high in especially force magic and maybe little bit in divination but mainly force.
Also can't wait and really looking forward to what haches out of the mysterious egg, as well was kinda hoping he would choose the familiar cthulu thing would just have been interesting... (possibly uncontrollable disaster but fun nonetheless. )
It went from an interesting story in the first book to one of those weird tv shows when you know one of your favorite shows is ending after this season. The book was already skating weird with taking place in a tv show but it pushed weird a little to much, a game system that does absolutely nothing, a guy that rewrite the script and other nefarious earth transplants. When moving forward, just keep it about Aren and upheaval in the kingdom and the book would golden.
The story was okay. However it did not feel organic. In my opinion the author had an idea for a story and scenes however the interconnect was lacking. That being said the story was okay the scenes were okay. Also there were several points in the story that I went I swear I've read this before. The plot points that were revealed to the end of the main story were intriguing. I would pick up the second book to see where it goes.
Love this series. The book's are a bit short but very to the point and exceedingly humorous. It seems the author he is taking the secondary characters That we're supposed to be 2 dimensional in the original series and making them 3 dimensional in the MCS version. The free will is spreading. But not without resistance. Interesting twist on the Last 3rd of the book. Does open more Events for future books. A lot of fun. I look forward to the next book hopefully it is soon.
This story is hilarious and every time I read a book in this series I can’t wait for the next one. So very happily surprised when this book came out. The MC is relatable, great sense of humor, and uses his brain to solve problems. I hope he can rewrite his story to end up super OP. When is the next book coming out?!
I was digging this when I thought it was an alternate reality "like" an anime. This volume confirms that it is an actual fictional world. Meaning there are methods of changing reality to suit an authors whims.
I may check out the next volume, but I'm not sure if I'll continue the series or not.

I love those way this story was woven together. It wasn't constant unreasoning overwhelming endless evil organization and fight after fight after fight. There was a plot. A real storyline. Granted, a lot of that didn't cone together till the last second, but...
This one didn't quite match the pacing of the first book, despite that, it was still so good that I read it all in one sitting on the day it came out. I think that says it all.
Made me laugh.... Not sure if that's my weird humor or not....but it was a really fun read. I'm hoping the author is consuming epic levels of caffeine in order to finish part 2. And is a little less dense than the MC.....#2 is necessary. Make it so! (Please)
Wow I'm in love with this series!! Our MC is coming into his own and our FMC is all for protecting her love, no matter how violent she has to be. I cannot wait to see what happens next because I need more!!
I absolutely loved the book and can't wait tell the 3rd hopefully it's a bit longer than 200 pages, thats me sad because I binged the whole book in one day.
A funny and smart MC who makes the most of every little advantage. An excellent cast of characters and a riveting storyline. Read it you won’t be disappointed.
The adventure continues. Fun characters, plot keeps moving, and things get more mysterious. Likable characters, age appropriate relationships (young teenager).
