I checked this one out on Hoopla from my library and it has a great selection of themes! I loved the Fiesta Forever (Dia de los Muertos), Space Odyssey (galaxy-themed), Modern Garden (Terrariums), oh heck I loved pretty much all the patterns!! Well worth the time!
Thanks to the publisher for providing me with an advance reader copy via Edelweiss!
This pattern book has a great variety of fresh ideas that suit many styles. My favorite patterns are the space-themed sky scenes, but there is a lot more here that I will absolutely be making use of in my future stitching projects. The patterns are clear, and use color in addition to symbols, which is helpful for me. They also give thread color options in three brands, rather than only DMC, which I appreciate. Excellent value and quality!
I love these designs! It’s like the “Lisa Frank” of cross stitch. Normally, I prefer more traditional/great-granny aesthetics in my crafting, but this is really fun. I am saving this book for later after I finish some of my current projects so I can actually DO something from this book. 🦄🦄🦄🦄
I really liked this one- it has a fairly wide variety of patterns to pick from, and shows some very creative ways of using the patterns. (i.e., not just hanging embroidery hoops) It also gives time estimates, which I have seen in very few other books- and that can either intimidate a person, or give them a reassuring confirmation that 'yes, it really does take this long- it's not just you.' And the variety was nice- I get burned out on one style all of the time.
As someone who often guesses the best thread colors ("that looks reddish") I was intimidated at first by the key that listed multiple variations on a color and patterns that called for multiple reds, for example; but honestly it really stepped up my end products, giving shadows and highlights that I wouldn't have thought to incorporate. And I appreciated that it didn't just show a purple-ish box with a DMC number (since not all of us use those...) but also listed Anchor, Madeira, AND a written description (dark lilac, lilac, medium lavender, etc).

The beautiful designs and freedom to explore make this a must-read for anyone looking to dive into the world of cross-stitching. Rated 4 out of 5 stars for its engaging content and thorough introduction to the craft.
Basic premise: a bunch of "fun" and quick cross stitch patterns.
I bought a bunch of new cross stitch books and had 3 winners in the batch, so it was inevitable that the 4th would be a dud for me. No, I do not want to stitch the head of a woman from the 80s with the ridiculous hair I try every day to forget I ever wore. Honestly, there were a couple of cute things there, but I don't really do cute, and the 80s section made me want to gag, so this one will go right to a donation bin somewhere.
Wouldn't recommend it. Patterns were contributed from multiple sources, and that makes the book uneven. I think stitchers tend to have a style they like and stick with it. This one had so many styles that I can't see the practicality of this book. Plus, none of them were that interesting; I bet the contributors were saving their good ones for their own books.
This was a lovely little cross stitch book. I really was pulled to the bright on black aesthetic. There are a few designs that I look forward to doing. It definitely isn’t the usual twee / uber conservative cross stitch that is out there, so this was quite refreshing. I will definitely be looking through it again and starting a project.
Yea! A book that delivers on its title! This little book, just a bit thicker than a pamphlet, is very straightforward and packed full with truly fun and funky cross-stitch designs! Numerous clear photos of finished designs, color graphics and keys, everything you need to get started and be successful. Really well done!
Cute patterns but too small, too simple, and too kitschy for my stitching. If you want to make a quick gift this would be a good choice. But if you are a serious needle worker best pass it by.
I enjoyed the many different design choices in this book. The patterns and instructions looked easy to follow for all of the designs. The hardest part will be choosing which one to start first.
