Wow! What an eye opening book about such a sensitive topic.
Fertility for many involve lots of visits to doctors, ovarian stimulation drugs, lab blood work, ultrasound exams and lots of poking and prodding by medical specialists, just to name a few. However, this is a different book with a way more interest approach to fertility. Julie Von speaks about the importance with connecting with your baby spirit, your universal coaches, and yourself. Everything happens in life for a reason, whether it is in your life or in the lives of your transgenerational loved ones. This book opens up your eyes to many different thoughts such as the traumas in your childhood or in your adult life could be inadvertently causing your inability to conceive as easily as other women.

The part that resonated with me is when Von speaks about connecting to your baby spirit and asking for assistance from your ancestors and others who have has a special role in your life. I still need to find my spiritual support coaches. I am hoping they will come to me in a dream. I am reminded the importance of daily journaling, speaking to a Higher Power, and the significance of prayer and asking for miracles.

For all those who are hoping to conceive, this is a must-read! I wish everyone on this journey the very best of luck!

Knjiga Duhovna strana plodnosti autorice Dr. Julie Von jedno je od onih djela koje dolaze u naš život kada su nam najpotrebnija. Prošla sam vrlo izazovno razdoblje u proteklih godinu i osam mjeseci – jedno bolno iskustvo izvanmaterične trudnoće, a potom i trudnoću koja se vrlo brzo prekinula, prije nego što se uopće imala priliku razviti. Ta su iskustva ostavila trag na mom tijelu i duši (iako imam već dvoje zdrave djece), no ova knjiga mi je pomogla pronaći svjetlo koje vodi prema iscjeljenju.

Dr. Julie Von me nježno i inspirativno uvela u svijet duhovnosti i psihologije te mi pokazala kako njihova povezanost utječe na naše tijelo – posebno na rad naših žlijezda i hormonalni sustav, a time i na začeće. Knjiga mi je otvorila oči za činjenicu da za plodnost nije dovoljno samo fizičko zdravlje – duhovna i emocionalna ravnoteža jednako su važni. Shvatila sam koliko je duboko ukorijenjen moj odnos prema vlastitom tijelu, mislima i stavovima te kako oni mogu postati prepreke, ali i mostovi prema novom životu.

Ova knjiga me potaknula da se posvetim vlastitom duhovnom iscjeljenju i prepoznam vlastite blokade, ali i da s povjerenjem gledam prema budućnosti.

Svima koji se bore s izazovima na putu do roditeljstva, preporučujem ovu knjigu. To nije samo vodič o plodnosti, već i knjiga koja mijenja način na koji vidimo sebe i svoj svijet.

A wonderful book I would recommend not only for women who would like to conceive a child, but also for women interested in energy medicine, holistic medicine, spirituality and intuition. I like very much the ideas of Dr. Julie Von expressed in this book. She is a notable holistic fertility doctor in New York City. From being a medical doctor and having interest in obstetrics and fertility medicine myself, I agree that there is a lot more than just biology to conception. Sometimes just after a woman gives up on trying to become pregnant and removes an energy block, she becomes pregnant. There are interesting ideas about the interconnectedness of people and that sometimes it is necessary to work through spiritual karma passed from the family. Very good ideas are that a woman should focus on her well-being and distance herself from toxic situations and people in her life and that there is nothing wrong in doing so. Dr, Von advises ways in which to mitigate stress and get in touch with a woman’s spirit and intuition so that a woman can get in touch with the spirit of her child, even before conception. This was a very novel and interesting idea to me! Another idea that I agree with is that by trying to “have it all” and be accomplished professionals, women have lost touch with their spirituality and this has negative effect on their fertility. Another idea is that the patriarchal culture of Western society has not left much room for feminine self-expression. It is important to heal your relationships to parents, partner, God and other significant people in your life that you may not even realize play a role in your fertility. There are discussions on dreams, prayer, and other important factors in connecting to a woman’s spirit and intuition. Dr. Von seems to me is a very brave and innovative healer.

As a health care provider, I have had many conversations with women worried about infertility. Being trained as a nurse midwife in the Untied States- my best medical advice is “Do you have regular menstrual periods- yes- ok then it can be very common for healthy couples to take up to a year to conceive.” Take multivitamins and come back if it’s been over a year. And yes I can include basic health labs, nutrition and basic lifestyle modification recommendations.

But, there is so much more to this conversation that is missing.

The belief system that led her to this worry is presenting an opportunity to be explored.

Dr Von’s book, Spiritual Fertility, is a guide for a deeper look into the self. Personally, I have found when the world is not reflecting back to me my desires the answer or the “fix” lies within.

There were times in reading Spiritual Fertility that I found nuggets of gold! Similar to Ina May’s Spiritual Midwifery. Working with women and attending births over the past 17 years there are phenomena that extend beyond our knowledge.

This book is excellent prep for anyone planning a pregnancy since a lot of what Dr Von is addressing- if not evaluated preconception, may play into your birth and postpartum period.

Cultural beliefs shape may women’s lives without out their full conscious. Believing in your body when creating a baby is just as necessary as believing in your body for birth! And for breastfeeding!

I am currently working on planning my own family. I have worked in the western healthcare system for over 17 years and found this book enlightening, eye opening, and thought provoking on a subject I have deep knowledge.

I really enjoyed this one. At first I thought it was just alright (I've heard a lot of this information elsewhere already) but it really grew on me. A lot of times in this genre, authors will tell you about their patients to prove a point (and there was certainly a bit of that here) but I found myself really wanting to know more about each person's story. I felt that the focus was on humanness rather than case studies. I especially liked when the author shared about herself and some of her own experiences. The one thing that was meh for me: some of the exercises needed more.. context? guidance? I'm not sure, but I was only inspired to try one or two.

A truly special book

This book resonated so deeply with me. I feel like I read it at the perfect time. It helped me understand so much, and touched on so many things I often wondered about. It brought me peace and calm in a very noisy world and helped bring me back to center, and my roots. Dr Julie is a gifted woman, and It is so lucky for all of us that she shares that gift so freely and eloquently.

I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to bring a spiritual (not religious) approach to conception. This book helped bring me ease on my TTC journey, connected me with the spirit of my baby before we conceived, and brought me to my why. I appreciated the chapter exploring fears around conceiving the identifying the roots of it. I will always pick this back at up when trying to conceive again!

Embracing Spirituality

I recommend this to all wannabe mothers. I really enjoyed this read and the focus back onto the spiritual elements.
