Presents the ultimate rags-to-riches tale of how Richard "Skip" Hayward, an unemployed ship-worker, granted his Pequot grandmother's sole wish by reviving the dying clan and transforming them into the wealthiest and most inflential Native American tribe in history. 20,000 first printing.
Trashy just straight up racist history writing. For those looking for a more thoughtful and accurate account of “Indian gaming”, I’d recommend High Stakes: Florida Seminole Gaming and Sovereignty by Jessica Cattelino.
The book is alright. Eisler is clearly a journalist. The historical information is not completely correct. It I full of inaccualrate history that you would find through Wikipedia or Google. However, the information on their casino & their records I very interesting. Worth a read; just remember that the history of the tribe is not necessarily correct.
