Heart of Gold is a super sweet novella set in Amie Knight's Heart world. Will and Ramsey are college students who have been best friends since they were 8 years old. Both of them have feelings for one another, but are afraid to admit it and ruin their friendship. When Ramsey's roommate Asia informs her that another guy in their dorm likes her, it pretty much scares Will into losing her to someone else. (But Asia knows what she's doing and gives Will the push he needs!)
Will suggests a fake date to prepare Ramsey to date for real. And he has every intention on making sure she knows there is no better guy for her than him.
Adorable, if not predictable. At only 8 chapters, this book is one that is easy to read in one sitting. And easy to fall in love with Ramsey and Will.
This book is loosely connected to A Steel Heart since Miranda was once Will's babysitter when he was a kid, and there is a lovely appearance by Miranda and Holden.

This intense and absolutely romantic novella of Ramsay and Will was PERFECT!
I loved it so much, but honestly - I WANT MORE! How about a full length novel? 😉😉😉

Will was entranced the first time he saw Ramsay when he was 8 and she was the new girl at school. In the time since, he's become her best friend, and his fascination with her has only gotten stronger. Awww! These two best friends are so adorable, neither knowing their feelings all this time were reciprocated. Because this is a novella, it could have felt rushed or incomplete, but it reads like a complete story, with a sweet pair of best friends who have crazy chemistry. I love a special part of the story, it only adds to the sweetness and makes it that much more obvious that they're true soulmates.

This novella that fits into the Hearts series, but that can easily standalone. It’s a best-friends-to-lovers story that is super sweet as two childhood friends now in college finally get the courage to act on their longstanding feelings for each other
We first met Will as a little kid in A Steel Heart (he was looked after by Miranda, and both Miranda and Holden appear in this book in a fantastic cameo). From the age of eight, Will has been best friends with Ramsay, and he’s loved her for pretty much that long as well. His feelings are reciprocated by Ramsay, but neither of them have ever said or done anything about it, too afraid to ruin their close relationship. Now that they’re older though, someone else has taken an interest in Ramsay, and it’s just the trigger Will needs to finally put his fear behind him and take his chance.
These two are so freaking sweet. We can all see what’s coming, and watching them finally take tentative steps beyond friendship is fun and heartfelt, and a little bit sexy as they embrace the change and follow their hearts… and their hormones… into something completely new.
It’s enjoyable to watch, and I could feel all of the emotion between them. I loved watching Will and Ramsay come together, and there’s an epilogue which finishes off their story beautifully.
Such a cute read.

A perfect novella that held all the emotions of two best friends that fell for one another from a young age, but didn't know how to transition into something more as they got older.
I adored this story something hard and couldn't put it down once I began. Not only does Will love Ramsay from the moment he meets her at age eight, which might only translate into friendship at that age, but it didn't take long for Will to understand that what he feels for Ramsey is something special and he wants her forever, if he could just figure out a way to tell her without destroying his decade long friendship.
Ramsey is wonderfully unique, her friendship and love for Will is super sweet, and I loved the two of them together as they tried to forge a new path towards something more.
While this book may have been short it had all the feels, angst, passion, and love that I could want in a romance story. It was perfection!

Heart of Gold is a fun, fast paced, friends to lovers story. Will and Ramsay have been friends since they’ve been little. They have done everything together, been there for each other and now that they’re in college those friendly feelings are starting to change and becoming harder to ignore. Will wants more with Ramsay, but doesn’t want to lose her friendship. Ramsay is starting realize she is ready for more in her life and whether that’s with Will or not she wants to try. Will and Ramsay take us on a whirlwind adventure of two friends trying figure out if the risk is worth the reward or are they stuck as friends forever. Plus, we get to see Holden and Miranda, loved these two. I enjoyed these book and the characters!

This is a sweet story with a touch of heat. Will & Ramsay have been best friends since they were little, and now that they're in college, they have to decide if they're willing to take a risk & give in to the stronger feelings they've developed.
I enjoyed this quick read for the most part - love the characters & seeing Miranda & Holden's cameos. However, for such a short story, I would have liked more of our couple together rather than the page time given to their individual, internal back & forth.
Still, I adored the ending!!

Will and Ramsay met at eight and have been best friends and now they are in college and added Ramsay’s roommate Asia to their mix. Ramsay and Will are secretly in love with each other but are afraid to take it further they don’t want to loose each other. A guy named Kris is interested in Ramsay and Will gets jealous. Can he man up and get Ramsay ? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing book. Love Will and Ramsay. The supporting characters are awesome. Will and Ransey met when they were children, and moves on to become best friends, and the love they have for each other, has never been revealed, as they did not want to spoil their friendship. Now they are in college, they finally pluck up the courage, and move on from best friends /lovers. This story is told in dual POV’s. This is a well written quick read, which has romance, heartbreak, emotions, and love, which leads to a sweet, fun, steamy, and an entertaining page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

When I realized who Will was I was so insanely happy for his story!
Will and Ramsay were so insanely cute together! I loved how he adored everything about her, even her nervous tics.
The friendship between them was so sweet and pure, but seeing it change into a relationship felt like home. They were made for each other and truly belonged together!!
Such a great little addition to The Heart Series!

Oh how I loved Heart of Gold! Best friend to lovers is such a great trope and I always love that moment where the couple each, separately, realizes they are meant to be! This was such a sweet story and Will and Ramsey were just darling! If you are new to author Amie Knight and enjoyed this story, you must go back and read A Steel Heart to see when Miranda and Holden, who are featured in this story, first meet. You'll also love getting to see Will as a young boy in A Steel Heart.

I loved this one, Will and Ramsey met when they were 8 years old. From that first day they were always there for each other. Over time friendship grew into love. And they finally told each other their feeling and they were able to get the HEA they both wanted.

Friends for life is the way I would describe Will and RAmsay as they took their journey from childhood to adulthood. Both loving each other and yet afraid to tell each other. Amie has written a beautiful short story of friendship, romance, and a love that lasts forever.

A sweet, steamy novella features childhood best friends as they both come to grips with their feelings for each other. It is a dual POV for Will and Ramsey. The book is a spin-off from the author’s other work, so past characters will make an appearance.
The story is a two hour read. Amie does a good job of establishing the main characters’ personalities and longing for one another. I also greatly liked how Ramsay dealt with ticks and OCD.

Fun, quick novella that gives you the push and pull best friends must feel when they fall in love with the other but don't want to ruin the friendship. Will is madly in love with Ramsay but doesn't want to ruin things, while Ramsay is head over heels for her best friend but refuses to cross that line. One pretend date is all it takes.

At 76 pages, this story didn't have a lot of depth but still managed to keep me happily reading. A quick friends-to-lovers story that began in grade school - thru high school and into college and a happily-ever-after that made me melt. My only complaint is that Will and Ramsay didn't get a full novel.

Going back to visit some of my favorite characters this author has written left me nostalgic and wanting to do a reread. This novella is short and sweet but also packs a lot of heat and love. Will and Ramsey are fantastic and you will immediately fall in love.

Will has loved Ramsey since they first became friends at 8 years old, only he was too scared to do anything about it over the fear of losing his best friend. This heartwarming, emotional friends to lovers, short read was everything. It was a sweet story that couldn't have ended any more perfect for this couple.

I think this book was a good add to a heart series. The short book contains the same feels as the series and it either makes you want to reread the series for the feels or make you want to read it for the first time. The author did a great job.
