He's come for me. The alien barbarian who wants to claim my heart and my child as his.
One minute I'm juggling my teaching job with single mom life. The next, I'm on a ship full of alien warriors, being flown light years away from Earth and everything I know.
Now Tharin, heir to the throne and the biggest, most brooding barbarian of them all, is blowing my mind by telling me he's the father of my daughter. But how's that possible when I don't remember the first time he abducted me ten years ago?
Tharin doesn't care that I don't remember though. He doesn't care I don't believe he fathered my child either. All he cares about is maintaining his line by having more children with me, no matter the cost. I willingly submitted to him once, he says, so surely I can again.
But how can this gorgeous, tortured alien expect me to commit to a future with him when I can't remember what drove us apart in the past?
PLEDGED TO THE HIGHBORN WARRIOR is the first book in a brand new alien romance series from the pen name of a bestselling author. It's perfect for fans of steamy, intense love stories between dominant aliens and strong-minded heroines. No cheating. HEA guaranteed.
An action-packed alien adventure! ***** Rating: 4 stars Steam: 2.5 flames Genre/Tropes: Alien Sci-fi Romance / Abduction / Fated Mates-ish / Second-Chance / Single Mom/ Unaliving Triggers: Talk of SA (not main characters) ***** Pledged to the Highborn Warrior is a page-turner of a tale. With fascinating characters, secrets, suspense, and intrigue.
Tharin, heir to his kingdom's throne, has a great deal of pressure and expectations on his shoulders. He is a barbarian and a warrior, he is used to bloodshed and has no qualms handing out visiious sentences… He is a force to be reckoned with… that is until he reconnects with his human (Pledged) and child.
Kate is a human teacher and the proud mother of the adorable Isla. She is getting her daughter ready for bed when she discovers a spaceship over her house and aliens are knocking on her door to take her and her daughter. Kate is a strong heroine with a lot of fight in her. Kate could be a little too headstrong at times, in my opinion.
Isla is a little warrior that you can’t help but love!
Pledged to the Highborn Warrior was full of unexpected twists and turns, as well as betrayal. I thought I knew what the book was about, but I had NO IDEA! I was definitely caught off guard by the ending! Well done Ms. Blaise!
I was captivated by the plot and couldn't put it down; I had to know EVERYTHING! I had no idea who to believe or where the story would take me, so I just sat back and enjoyed the ride. This book was enjoyable for me because I felt the characters grew as individuals and as a couple, the world building was satisfying, and the storyline was unique. The secondary characters were all interesting as well. I am definitely invested in this series!
A recommendation from me and I will continue to read this series! I need Charlotte to get her HEA!
What an amazing story! The characters are fantastic! Kate is a strong woman who takes nothing at face value, yet she still finds her heart longing for Tharin. And Tharin is this hardened warrior, with a super soft inside, conflicted by what people are saying and what his heart believes. The road to love is rocky for these two, but the author took us on a wild ride full of intrigue and danger, betrayal and love, and a HEA you won’t want to miss. This book is the perfect series starter and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Pledged to the Highborn Warrior was just an OK read that I didn’t feel quite distinguished itself very much from similar books in the Sci-Fi Romance genre. The premise of a selected group of human females being taken from different countries on Earth and impregnated by Skarsdonian Warriors to then later be returned to Earth with the aliens returning 10 years later to retrieve their hybrid progeny and the females they call their pledges was just interesting. The writing was good and leads Tharin and Kate had a lot of personal challenges to work through amidst the alien political machinations and subterfuge surrounding them but even this left me feeling as though the story was rather disjointed and predictable. I’m always looking for that page turner which I had hoped this one would be as this was a new author for me. Alas, it was not.

Overall this is an interesting and unique read. The concept was unique -aliens to kidnap human women to impregnate them and then return them to Earth after wiping the memories of the women, only to return 10 years later to collect the women and the children.
The two main characters go through a significant amount of emotions - fear, anger, attraction, love, pride, betray and likely a few I forgot to list. Tharin is quick to act on his emotions even when he doesn’t have much to suggest his first reaction is accurate.
Kate is a character I liked in parts of the book, and then wanted to throttle in other parts. She is strongly attracted to Tharin and focuses on the ‘kidnapping’ and forced relocation to an alien planet light years away from Earth. The idea was of being yanked away from everyone and everything you know would be frightening and provoke a significant amount of anger, but at some point you need to focus on adapting and making the most of your circumstances.
I struggled with how to rate this book and settled on 4 stars because of the unique storyline and the descriptive world building. For a future leader, I think Tharin is too caught up in reacting, acting, hearing everyone else’s opinion on what needs to happen….and then thinking about the situation.

This was a great easy alien romance read with a bit of an abduction twist – I read a lot of these kinds of books and its always exciting to see something a little different from the normal format. There was a lot of world building which included a pretty in depth look at the alien society’s social in political climate. Though there was a lot of building I didn’t find any of it tedious to the point the plot dragged.
I liked both of our lead characters enough. I am looking more forward to the lead of book #2 than I was this couple. I wish there was more interaction between the pair and the FMC’s daughter. Totally a personal preference but I wish the MFC/MMC fought each other a little more before giving into their chemistry.
I thought the book edged on a medium burn and would give it 2.5/5 on the spice scale.
If you are looking for a series a bit darker than Ice Planet Barbarians with more of an emphasis on planet politics this is definitely a great read!
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I liked the fact that this scenario was a little different from most, although I didn’t fully understand why they did things the way they did. Tharin is the heir to the Skarsdon throne and is expected to produce his own heirs for the strength of the kingdom. He is a barbarian and a warrior who had met his chosen ten years earlier. Now he reconnects and will take her and their child home. But since they wipe the memories of the woman, she doesn’t have the same perspective on being taken away to another world.
Kate is a human teacher who has a daughter named Isla. She is a stronger woman who will fight for her family. But will he convince her that Isla is their daughter? Will she be willing to become a family with him when she finds out why she was taken? Or will he have to work at it to convince the woman that he does love her and Isla and wants her by his side?
I loved this book! Wow that an amazing story! A completely captivating page-turner with great and rich world building. There was a lot of action, twists, and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. Wonderful characters. I loved Tharin, and Kate was a headstrong mama bear. Little Isla is completely adorable. Very well written and well paced. This is the first book I've read by this author and I'm looking forward to reading more. I recommend it. 5 stars.
The first book in the Brothers of the Scarred Planet series by a new Author to me. I found human teacher Kate her daughter Isla and Tharin's story to be wellwritten and kept me turning page. I want to read the next book. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout in exchange for an honest review.

Pledged to the Highborn Warrior de Trinity Blaise serie Brothers of the Scarred Planet libro 1
Argumento:
Mucho me enojó o me dejó boquiabierta.
💜 “I have been afraid to love. I was taught it is a weakness, but now I see refusing to love is a weakness. The truth is, I would give everything up for you, Kate. I would even give my own freedom up.” ~~~ Kate is one amazing woman and such a wonderful mother. I loved how protective she was of her daughter and that she was not afraid to speak her mind or seek the truth no matter the what. Even more, I loved her strength and bravery to face everything thrown her way. And her little daughter - Isla - is as amazing as her mother. Both were so wonderful and I loved them very much!
Tharin, heir to the Skarsdonian throne, is one very intriguing male. Although being one of the most vicious Skarsdonian warriors, he’s such an honorable and dutiful male. Even more, he’s fiercely protective, thoughtful and strong. And he’s dealing with so much pressure and expectations. I loved everything about the First Defender of Skarsdon.
Everything that happened between Kate and Tharin was amazing. Their road to happiness was quite bumpy and that’s putting it mildly. Both were such headstrong characters but their chemistry was fantastic. I really liked how much they grew throughout the story and learned to accept and trust one another. And when they finally gave into their feelings, the passion they shared was off the charts hot.
In addition, the worldbuilding and the storyline were phenomenal. The beginning of everything was so original. And the Skarsdonians and their planet Obrothea were quite impressive and interesting. Even more, all the suspense, secrets and revelations kept me glued to the pages till the very end. Every time I thought I had everything figured out, I was hit with another unexpected twist. Absolutely magnificent plot!
Overall, the story is a marvellous read and a fantastic start of the series. It’s filled with action, drama, danger, suspense, twists, steamy romance and magnificent characters.
I couldn’t put it down and loved every single page of it!
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is a unique scenario for a sci-fi romance. Kate and her daughter have a good life on earth until aliens come for them. Tharin is in need of his human and child. He and Kate do not see eye to eye on everything so that alone makes things strained. Once you add in the betrayal, twists and turns things get complicated. I liked the storyline and it had good characters. I was still trying to understand a few things about their world but it all may be addressed in the series. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout in exchange for an honest review.
No mother would forgive everything she forgave. I finished the book but was just disappointed. The hero never bothered to learn or correct his mistakes. Worst yet the heroin went for having a few brain cells seeing his mistakes and lack of remorse to simple forgiven them all. What abduct me and my family ok, you took my memories no problem, plan to permanently separate me from my child well you thought you had good reason. Get real just b/c their is aliens doesn't mean you shouldn't find some way to make is seem realistic.
I read this book because the author Ursa Dax recommended it in her email update, and I'm so glad I did. It was a cute, quick read for me. I loved the characters, and the pace of the book. The spice is a 2/5, but still good. I absolutely recommend this book to any Ruby Dixon/ Ursa Dax fans! I can't wait for the next book!
This was an action packed some what brutal alien romance. With a loving fierce heroine and a bull headed, quick tempered male! Great world building and interesting plot twists keep the story moving at a good pace. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Memories lost 10 years ago could make the difference between life and death for Kate. In a world ruled by warriors, betrayal plays a big part in the thirst for power, a thirst so strong it exceeds the bond of family, friends and possibly even love.
Interesting storyline, aliens that are human like war warriors.. excitement betrayal and lack of trust embodies the story as they fine their happy ever after
