This book from celebrated traumatology pioneer Charles Figley, further clarifies the concept of compassion fatigue through theory, research, and treatment. This book is chock full of valuable information. I would have liked to have seen it spend more time on giving and explaining tools for dealing with compassion fatigue (other than eat right, exercise and get enough sleep which is the stock answer) and burn out rather than focusing so much on defining it and who is prone to it. Still worth reading.
