Although this book is stamped in time , it remains a good resource for basic sauces and cooking knowledge. It also has some interesting recipes, which stand the test of time, and finally Gary’s role in revolutionising British cooking should not be underestimated or diminished by faint praise as he really did help to kick start a new generation of cooks by raising popular interest in cooking.

Very fussy; very 1990s.
