I read this book when I was a kid, and it made a reference to the red room in Jane Eyre. And because of that, I bought Jane Eyre at a book sale at school. It was the first book that I bought with my own money. It was one of those big editions with the gilt-edged pages. I still own that book, and will forever credit The Red Room with leading me there.

I was finally able to finish a Windswept book! The story was a bit overly dramatic, and most of it could be figured out right away, but it still had a nice vibe to it. Jessica's temper flare-ups were heading towards getting on my nerves, and there was some major beating around the bush when it came to revealing everything, but I don't have too many complaints.

If you're looking for a fast-paced thriller, you might won't to keep on looking, but if a slower paced book with a somewhat lukewarm mystery is OK by you, then try The Red Room.
