Very cute second chance/MOC romance with an insanely sweet cowboy that falls for the baby as much as he does the heroine.

Since the heroine comments over and over about this cowboy and his chaps, I feel I must honor her wishes.

Very OTT romance fantasy

At first I was ready to say dnf and just say no but as utterly implausible as the beginning of the story is, and believe me it is stretching credibility to its limit, I ended up liking it. It was pure cheese and unicorns and flowers but it was cute. Total fantasy. The H hired her as the housekeeper and she shows up at his door, goes into labor and he delivers the baby. He married her to give the baby his name and they end up falling in love. Aaahhh. It was very sweet and I am really glad I read it. Just make sure you go into it with your rose' colored glasses in place.

This book tried, it really did. It had a sweet romance and good characters. However, the writing was choppy and the POV’s were hard to stay with. It was constantly switched to Brice or Madison’s POV without warning. Also, the author threw so many tropes in here. We have

I mean it was cute and ended in a HEA. I just don't think that I’m going to be picking up anything else from this author.

This was a cute story of finding love and protection in the least possible place. Maddie and Brice are so cute together.

And what do you get when you have a bunch of tough cowboys trying to take care of an infant? A load of laughs

I found myself endeared to this ranch and all the inhabitants!

I received a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review, and here it is: 5 stars.

Prescription for one terrific read: Take one lonely, divorced, handsome rancher (Brice DeWitt) who hires a cook and housekeeper (Madison Carlyle), sight unseen. Have her her show up on his doorstep two days late, in the middle of the night, during a snowstorm, after having hiked two miles from her broken-down car, while in labor, and then have her water break almost as soon as she walks through his door. Have that stunned rancher call for help, but deliver her baby almost entirely by himself. Don't forget to mention, that she's on the run and doesn't want to be found. Add a large dash of fear and mistrust, because the women in Brice's life, his mother and his ex-wife, didn't stick around. Add the fact that Madison has grown up in numerous foster homes where no one seemed to care about her. Add a dash of humor (Madison is no cook), a bunch of ranch hands who can't wait to hold the baby girl (Abigail). Then add a town full of terrific, helpful and caring people. Add a dash of healthy physical and emotional attraction. Stir with some drama when the reasons why Maddy is in hiding show up on the doorstep and then mix in some danger, when Brice is caught in a ravine and can't be located. What do you get? You get one heck of a wonderful, charming, entertaining, and heartwarming novel.

I've been reading Mindy Neff's novels for years, and they never disappoint, but I'd have to say, The Cowboy is a Daddy, is perhaps her best one yet.

This book was fantastic! It starts off getting your full attention with a very pregnant Madison Carlyle showing up for her job as housekeeper/cook at the ranch owned by Brice DeWitt. She'd applied without knowing how to cook but needed to hide and thought a ranch in the middle of nowhere was perfect. When she got there just before midnight on New Year's Eve, in the middle of a snowstorm Brice thought her car had broken down, never suspecting she was the housekeeper he'd hired. On top of that, she was in labour.

Things happened so fast that Brice had to deliver the baby. Maddy convinced Brice to let her stay. As time went on, she was still worried about being found so she proposed to Brice hoping he would agree and she could stay. He did agree to marry her but made sure she understood it's only temporary. Because his mother and ex-wife couldn't handle ranch life and had left, he suspects Maddy will too. To protect his heart he told her it was a temporary relationship.

When Brice falls for both mother and baby, he didn't want them to leave. Maddy is in love with him too but doesn't let on. I didn't want to stop reading this well-written book with its unusual plot. The author did a great job at developing these two and giving us a great story full of love, trust and angst. It was soooo funny whenever a character had to do something they weren't experienced with - whether it was Brice and the baby or Maddy trying to cook. Brice's terror of the infant is hilarious. I just broke me up.

This is a great book and I'm so glad I got a copy in exchange for my honest review. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

A story to melt your heart. All the gruff cowboys fussing over the baby, awwwww.
I can't say I thought much of nurse Nancy, she didn't do anything to support the new mum and establish breastfeeding, yes I know she's not real but no wonder Madison gave up breastfeeding. Yet she is portrayed as being so kindly.
It was a bit odd that the cloth diapers described used pins, as far as I know modern cloth diapers are far better designed than that.
I did enjoy the story though, it's really sweet.
Also I see she has some books in Kindle Unlimited, so I'm off to find some.

Do you want a book that will have you laughing as you read this is one you will do that with new Author for me but I know I will be looking for more by her, next one I read will be A Family Man . I could not put this down 2:30 this morning it was lets get some sleep! Set in Wyoming on Brice DeWitt’s ranch, Brice has had a lot of bad luck with the women in his past his Mother took off when he was five and needed her help which left him mentally scared, his ex-wife could not handle living on the ranch. Now comes pregnant Madison Carlyle who has answered his ad for a housekeeper! New Years eve Madison comes to the ranch but has had to walk in as her car quit , she is in labour! Brice delivers little Abbe as the Doctor can not get there in time, he does not want to let another woman into his life! What happens when he finds out what Madison is hiding? What happens when Brice is hurt and can not get back to the ranch? I was gifted a copy for an honest review barwatts@telus.net

This book is a great escape from reality. A sweet story about small town life, people who care about you and support you, and a relationship that you each long for, never thinking you will find it. Maybe not too far from reality after all.

The story grabs you from the time Maddie appears on Brice's doorstep and you don't put it down until he walks in the door at the end of the book. Brice and Maddie learn to like each other before falling in love. It is sweet, a little sad, and funny. Throw in a dash of intrigue and suspense, and you need up with the entire cake with icing on top.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Puuuleze. I expected a cowboy book. There is a cowboy in it. But not like any I'd like to read about. A cook/ housekeeper is hired. She shows up in labor, can't cook and seems fine letting the ranch owner take care of her. I guess the ranch owner is suppose to be written as wonderful and every woman's dream. 28% into the book and all I got is a crying, fussy baby, nobody sleeping, maternal health issues and a cowboy with a hero complex. But the biggest gripe is the authors tendency to jump from one characters head into the other's head as she changes paragraphs. Sloppy and amateurish. Not an interesting story. Characters that don't resonate.

Absolute Perfection

Maddie shows up at Brice’s door hoping he will go through with hiring her as the cook and housekeeper for his ranch, despite the fact that she has more baggage than can fit in her suitcase. She’s trudged to the ranch from her broken down car, just in time for him to deliver her from her pain, stress and suffering. This is just such a well written book, filled with such sweet romance and heartache, that it will pull you in and have you smiling, laughing and crying. Kudos to the author, Mindy Neff for a remarkable job in writing a storyline that is like none I have read thus far that brings together Maddie, who has set her own goals and worked to meet them all without the help of others and not expect for anyone else to complete her happiness. Then there is Brice who has learned that eventually everyone leaves and he’ll be alone again. The only thing that could have made this book a 6 star rated book would be an epilogue with a look at five hears in the future because I just didn’t want to close this heart warming story.

I don't believe I have read this author before. She certainly pulled me into this wonderfully different story. The housekeeper, cook arrives at the cowboy's house just before midnight after walking for two miles in a snowstorm in labor because car has broken down. She barely gets in the door and her water breaks so the cowboy gets to deliver her little bundle of joy. After delivering her he holds her and instantly falls in love. The fun part is watching this cowboy trying to keep his housekeeper resting instead of doing what she was hired for . She does not know how to cook but can clean a house. She accepted this job site unseen because it is in the middle of Wyoming so hopefully the people trying to find her and her baby will not think to look here. The story just continues with lots of twists and turns and the cowboy and the housekeeper falling in love. Pick up your copy to follow all the comings and goings of this amazing story. It is unlike any I have previously read. Loved ii!!!

A chance at Love

When Brice answers the door bearing midnight on New Year’s Eve the last thing he expected was the arrival of his new housekeeper. One who is younger than he thought and about to give birth.

Heavily pregnant Maddie arrives on Brice’s doorstep in the middle of a freezing cold night, scared out of her mind for not fully disclosing her condition to her new boss. But it’s a little late for that now, considering her water just broke and she’s in labor.

These two were sweet both carrying hurt and scars from the past. Brices stem from his mother leaving when he was younger add in an ex-wife who wasn’t cut out for Wyoming winters he’s learnt to protect his heart.

Maddie grew up in the foster system having been discarded by her mother. All she’s ever wanted is someone to love.

Their story is sweet, it’s about opening yourself up along with your heart. Never giving up that maybe you’re where you were meant to be all along.

-dual POV
-pregnant heroine (artificial insemination)
-the h proposes a MOC to protect her baby (she's on the run)
-slow burn (they flirt and have sex -and secretly love each other- but they don't get officially together until the last pages of the last chapter)
-both celibate for a while
-very likeable heroine
-sweet protective hero - he wasn't OTT and he wasn't the most alpha but I still liked him
-divorced hero (he was married for a few years, he's not hung up on his ex and she never shows up in the story)
-he's 32, she turns 29 in the story
-surprise baby
-push/pull - he was in love with the h (and also loved her baby as his own) but tried to keep an emotional distance from her bc all the women in his life abandoned him (his mom, his ex-wife...) and didn't want to go through that again
-no separation
-no ow/om drama
-very low steam
-no cheating or scenes with OP
-no epilogue/HFN :((

Is this home? Maddie had no choice but to leave everything behind and run but now she is at the mercy of her new boss. And she has just given birth and Brice delivered the baby which he knew nothing about. But what now? Maddie has nowhere to go and she can't go back home as they will take the baby. Brice knows that she is running from something but he has no idea what but he will do whatever he can to keep her and the baby safe. Even marry so that Abbe can have his name but what happens after the 3 months is up? Can he just let her walk away? Maddie thought that this would be easy but being a new mom is hard and she fears that she has fallen in love with her husband knowing that she is leaving. So what happens now? A good solid read.

The Cowboy Is A Daddy is a fantastic western romance by Mindy Neff. Ms. Neff has provided readers with a well-written book filled with characters that are fun and lovable. Brice hired a housekeeper/cook and expected her two days ago. Madison's car broke down and she ended up having to walk the rest of the way to her new job in the snow. Did I mention she's also VERY pregnant? Madison and Brice's story is loaded with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense. I loved this book from cover to cover and look forward to reading more from Mindy Neff soon. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

WONDERFUL LOVE STORY!!! 😊

This was an absolutely adorable and beautiful story. Brice and Maddie were so likeable. I loved every second of this book. It had it all... Humour, gentleness, kindness, passion, deep friendships and a truly lovely love story!!! I have come to adore Mindy Neff's book! They all have completely different type storylines but they all are heartwarming, moving, sweet, sexy, and filled with endearing people whom you would love to have a friendship with and hang around with personally! I could not put this book down it was such a delightful mix of laughter and love. I highly recommend it.... It is a winner!!!😊

Brice DeWitt immediately stood out to me as a wonderful cowboy hero. He may be strong, independent, and perfectly at home on his Wyoming ranch, but underneath that rugged exterior is a man who genuinely longs for something more a family of his own. That softer side of him made his character especially endearing. Madison's arrival at the Flying D Ranch is what really sets everything in motion. She is pregnant, vulnerable, and in desperate need of protection, yet she brings something completely unexpected into Brice's carefully ordered life. Watching their relationship develop from an unusual circumstance into something much more meaningful was one of my favorite parts of the story.

Omg! Great book!

Mindy Neff had me blubbering like an idiot with this book. I went through far too many tissues. Bruce and Maddie have an almost insta-love/lust thing going on right out of the gate, but both hold back because of doubts and worries. What results is an emotional slow burn that delivers all the feels.
The story and cast of characters are well developed, and create this feeling of being there...being part of the story.
I definitly recommend The Cowboy is A Daddy without hesitation. Myself, I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of this series.

Sweet story

I am so sad this is a stand alone book. I fell in love with Brice and Madison. And Moe! Instant attraction, growing love and trust. She's sparky with a mission, and he's ruler of all he surveys. So fun!

I enjoyed the conflict points, the secondary characters, the setting. I loved the community.

And you have to love 4 cowboys trying to change a cloth diaper and re-dress a baby! I was laughing so frequently throughout!

Contains limited sex (easily skimmed over), I don't remember F-bombs, but a lot of deity swearing.

Learning to Trust and Love - Cowboy Style

Lovely story of two people overcoming past pain and abandonment to find each other's love. Brice, rancher extraordinaire, and Madison, feisty survivor and determined woman, bond over a darling, precious bundle of joy. The adventures they survive while finding their happily ever after are exciting, heart rending and joyful. I really enjoyed the story of these two lost souls becoming a team and a loving family, complete with genuine cowboys and small town friends.

Fun, contemporary, small town Western romance. This is pegged as a marriage of convenience story, but it’s more a marriage for protection story. Pregnant woman on the run takes a job as a housekeeper/cook in the middle of winter on a Wyoming working ranch. She delivers right after arriving, and our hero is the only one available to help her. Both characters are guarding their hearts because of past hurtful life lessons. They’re perfect for each other, but have a hard time figuring it out. Lots of good dialogue between Brice and Madison. It was an enjoyable read.

This book was a pleasant surprise. I love the single parent trope and the fake relationship trope. This book had so much good tension I couldn’t put it down. Well written and engaging. Characters were very relatable and I wished there was a story for all the ranch hands. (Maybe there is and I missed it?)

First time reading this author and it was not a disappointment in the least! I usually like my books with a little more steam, this one tended to be on the sweet side, but it worked in this story.

Another hit!

*Sigh*...I don’t know how she does it, but it seems every book I read from this author has the right combination of drama, sexiness, love, fun, sweet and sass from the couple and all the characters, you cannot get enough. This one is no exception. I love Bryce’s protective alpha behavior, and Mindy’s determination is a great counterpart. Another great book with excellent doses of everything needed in a good romance novel. It’s a must-read kind of deal!
