This weird and zany series is hard to put down, even if I sometimes question where it's going. Vampeerz, Volume 3 continues the charming chaos, but with a few spicy new additions and a significant expansion of the world.
A new vampire named Khara is introduced, and she's a fantastic, fun addition. Her obsession with protecting Aria initially makes our protagonist, Ichika, incredibly jealous. However, in a surprising turn, the two quickly become allies and besties due to their shared goal of keeping Aria safe. This love-triangle-turned-friendship is a refreshing twist on a common trope.
The relationship between Ichika and Aria also heats up in a big way. The volume definitely jumps ahead a few bases with a scene where the two are making out...naked....in a bathtub. This is a bold move for the series, showing a significant progression in their romance.
Beyond the relationships, the volume expands the lore of the vampire world. Aria is revealed to be a far more important figure than we initially thought, with other vampire factions now in play. The return of old characters like Jiro and the involvement of Sakuya (the school nurse) adds more layers to this vampire intrigue. The ending sets up a major antagonist, which promises a new level of conflict for the series.
Overall, Vampeerz, Volume 3 is a fun, fast-paced read that manages to deepen its core romance while also broadening its world. It's a solid entry that leaves me excited to see what happens next. A definite 4 out of 5 stars.
