This is more of a book that summarizes studies done on Family Engagement but fails to present strategic action plans for implementing the findings. I appreciated the definition of family engagement but was hoping for a plan of action to help put these ideas into action.

provides significant insight and information about a variety of examples. The nice part is that it doesn't spell out what you should do but gives you room to consider a bigger picture and apply that based on the needs in the unique situation for each individual, school, school, district, etc. doing the same thing in every place is probably not going to create success. What will create success is creating a culture of coming together that works in the community that you are in. A book provides great conversation pieces to think that through.
