Opposites combust between Army veteran Linc Wilder and Eva, the city girl with an attitude as big as New York. It's best if they keep their distance, but Mother Nature has other ideas when a winter storm traps them together.
Linc Wilder traded in his Army uniform for his old cowboy boots and hat and the quiet seclusion of his cabin on the outskirts of the Wilder ranch in Tennessee but things are far from quiet after Eva Lucas and her two friends crash into Bitter Creek and turn his family upside down.
He thought being stranded with the sharp-tongued red-headed New Yorker during a blizzard was his worst problem. Then he realizes what a real problem is when a secret from the family's past threatens everything they have. They'll all have to work together to save the family legacy. Friends. Enemies. Lovers. Good thing he and Eva qualify as all three.
Welcome to Bitter End, TN, a small town that is about to feel the heat. So are the men of the town’s founding family, the Wilder brothers. Because three broken-hearted women on the adventure of a lifetime stranded in the middle of nowhere can ignite plenty of passion… and maybe even spur these consummate bachelors into love.

It all started in first grade when Cat Johnson won the essay contest at Hawthorne Elementary School and got to ride in the Chief of Police's car in the Memorial Day Parade...and the rest, as they say, is history. As an adult, Cat generally tries to stay out of police cars and is thrilled to be writing for a living. She has been published under a different name in the Young Adult genre, but released her first romance in 2006.
Today, she is a NY Times & USA Today best-selling, award-winning author of contemporary romance. A promo ho, she's sponsored real live bull riding cowboys and promoted romance using bologna.

“Stop. You can’t force it in.” The intensity of his passionate words, spoken so near to her, sent a piece of hair that had fallen across her face fluttering.
Refusing to let his closeness rattle her, she countered, “I’m not forcing it.”
“You are. You’re gonna snap it right off.” For a man in his mid-twenties he sure could whine like a child when he didn’t get his way.
“I am not gonna break it.” Jeez. She was in her thirties. She knew what she was doing.
“Can’t you just let me do it? It is mine.”
Eva ignored his comment, since it was mostly true, but she didn’t see how it mattered who it belonged to.
Linc sighed. “Just give up. It doesn’t fit.”
Not moving back, not giving in, Eva shook her head. “You don’t know that. It might fit—”
Her words stopped dead when Linc’s hand covered hers. Rough. Big. Warm. She was so distracted she barely noticed he’d slowly uncurled her fingers and her hand was empty.
“Hey! I was using that.“
“And it wasn’t working, so stop.” He pulled it farther away and out of her reach.
“Does this sound like some sort of weird foreplay to anyone else, or just me?” Ethan asked in a low voice nearby, but not low enough.
Eva spun to send the tall cowboy a scathing glare, but only for a fraction of a moment before she turned back.
She had to keep an eye on what Linc was doing with the ornate antique key they’d been trying to wrestle into the lock of the secret compartment she’d found under the big old desk in the Wilder study.
“Don’t let her hear you say that or she’ll be forcing that key somewhere else that it doesn’t fit,” Poppy warned her boyfriend, who also happened to be Linc’s brother Ethan Wilder.
“I can hear you,” Eva said without turning around, her gaze glued to Linc’s fingers as he flipped the key around and tried it upside down.
She’d already tried that and it hadn’t worked. But of course, being a man and a know-it-all, he had to try himself.
Ugh. Wilder men. They were all destined to drive her crazy.
This is a fun read. Hard assed Eva's attitude falls away when love comes knocking. Linc is the perfect guy for her. An entertaining short series, thoroughly enjoyed.
Linc and Eva are great together they just done realize it right away. She is maybe a serious hacker, but you really don't know. He is former Army maybe special forces but it is never really said out loud. Eva is argumentative and sarcastic, while Linc is just mostly quite and observant. Eva is several years older than Linc and she thinks that is a good reason to avoid getting into relationship with him but soon they are sleeping together but keeping it secret. Then feeling start to come in but neither voices them. With Emmet back in town, everyone's life is turned upside down. The family Christmas challenge has Linc and Eva paired up so they are getting closer because of that. Will they finally bring their relationship out in the open and let everyone know they are together? What happens with Emmet when the FBI come looking for him?
The last of the friends swindled by the Wilder cousin, Eva and Linc mostly the same, except she's older, two peas in a pod, secrets that can't be revealed that makes them and their family and friends suspicious of what and how they do things, competitive to the bitter end, pun there intended, a beautiful love story that began with a key, and getting rid of the snake, Cat Johnson this has been a beautiful series, thank you, Dana Zamora
Eva was the last revenge traveler to get her Wilder. Their story was a bit rocky but worth it. Emmet was gotten rid of. This time hopefully for good. These are stand alone stories but are about the Wilder family. Definitely worth getting to know them
This book was such a fun read. Well written. The characters are all charming. I'd love to have a family like the Wilder family. The closeness between the siblings really warmed my heart. And their Christmas traditions were so creative.
I love how the author brings in the earlier characters from previous books in series. But, if you read I’d say start from the beginning. This book was at times just too unbelievable unfortunately. I loved Linc but Eva was just not a nice person for most the book lol. 3-star is for Linc.
I love trilogies and this story didn’t disappoint. I recommend reading all the books, curled up in front of a fire with a nice glass of whatever. You will leave the books smiling after each.
