It was just her luck to fall in love with a small-town boy who never had any small-town dreams. Falling in love was easy… staying together? An entirely different story.
Charlie Rydell fell for Cami Reed because she was his best friend before she was his first love. He foresees their future union as starting in high school and ending in forever.
Cami arrived in River’s End with a past that no one knew much about. Seeking acceptance in a place that she’s never fully acclimated to, Cami acts out in ways that aren’t always appropriate, predictable or accepted. Not even by Charlie. Yet, she is fiercely loyal to the only home and family she’s ever had, even as she fails to live up to the pressures of what her loved ones expect from her. She knows what she wants in her future and that knowledge leads her into making one of the biggest mistakes of her entire life. One which changes the destiny of what forever means to all of them.
Now, Charlie struggles with how to deal with what Cami has done. What possible destiny awaits him? A small-town love and a small-town life? Or the whole world at large? Either path holds things he’s never dreamed of, but the problem is, to have one he has to give up the other. Where does his destiny belong? And how will he know if he’s chosen the right path to lead him there?

Raw. Real. Emotional Romance. Writing provocative and darker themed romance that always finds its happily ever after!
With 50 plus, full length books there is a story for everyone! Cowboy romance? Got it! Small town... yep. Big city rock star? Covered! You like a little suspense? Yep, got a few of those too.
Most of my books are standalone stories in connected series. Whether it's the setting, theme or family connections, my series are often multi-generational and span decades. While each book is a complete story, beloved characters will pop in and out of these sagas. I stick to new adult, contemporary and western romances, with tons of emotion and all the feels tucked into them.
I live in the rainy area of Western Washington, and spend as much time as I can traveling to destinations all across the state, where I do all things outdoors. Many of these locations become the settings for my books. I earned my business degree from Western Washington University, and worked for several years in the construction management field before turning to writing full time.
Blurb: Charlie Rydell fell for Cami Reed because she was his best friend before she was his first love. He foresees their future union as starting in high school and ending in forever. There’s only one thing he didn’t account for in his formula: how Cami might feel.
Cami arrived in River’s End with a past that no one knew much about. So my least favorite of the series. Charlie was an ass to her really. He kept on about how much he loved her but he didn't really show it. Basically they spent the majority of the book apart and I didn't enjoy it or really like any of the scenes they had together so just no.
I liked Charlie & Cami’s story and much of what they went through to get their HEA. Unfortunately it suffered from the same repetition that the last book did. This book covers 5-6 *years* of their lives which had the strong potential to feel rushed - but there we several chapters that were long and mundane and I felt like I was slogging through. The pacing just felt off. Overall it was an OK read.

Don't miss finding out what happens to childhood sweethearts, Cami and Charlie as they figure out falling in love is the easy part... staying together? An entirely different story...
Cami Reed has been best friends with Charlie Rydell since her mother died and she moved to Rydell Ranch with her dad AJ and step-mom Kate. Kate has been such an incredible support to Cami and she wants to stay close to her after graduation with no real plans of going to college or leaving the Ranch.
Charlie Rydell has had feelings for Cami for years but it isn't until the night of Prom that he acts on his feelings for her. But Charlie wants an education and has a goal of attending Stanford and seeing what else is out in the world and leave the ranch.
Can Cami and Charlie figure out their feelings for one another and can their opposite goals in life lead them to a happy ever after?
This was a good read and I enjoyed it.
I liked Cami and she had overcome a lot which was why she wanted to stay as close to Kate as possible. I found it so interesting that her and Charlie were so different on so many levels yet it was clear that they both loved each other. I found Cami much less mature with her drug use and then with the events that happened later in the book which she did to somewhat trap Charlie which broke my heart.
Charlie was awesome and I loved how he was following his dream and making something of himself. I understood his need of education and why he didn't want to be at the ranch for the rest of his life. I was really interested in what was going to happen as he and Cami had such different dreams for themselves.
I liked Cami and Charlie together but I was worried about how things were going to go. When Germany came into the picture I definitely was thinking they were done. I wasn't surprised at all with what happened next with Cami as I was truly expecting it. I was shocked at how well Charlie handled it and for awhile I truly wanted it to be over and thought Cami may turn to Jacob Starr.
I loved when Cami finally figured out what she wanted to do with her life and how that changed everything in her perspective of life. She all of a sudden completely grew up and I loved it.
The end was great as I loved the change in both Cami and Charlie and how they found love through it all.
One thing I love about a series is that you get to meet again the lovable characters from the previous stories so that you have an instant connection with the new family member.
This is the case with Charlie and Cami.
Their relationship is just incredible and so strong. Charlie amazed me with his maturity, determination and loyalty towards Cami. I felt for him as he strove to meet his ambitions without hurting those he loved.
I can't believe how Cami remained so loyal, at times I felt like screaming at her to actually say what she was feeling instead of keeping quiet.
Their journey together is beautifully written with so many outstanding emotions and heart rendering moments. To see Cami develop was absolutely wonderful and filled me with such hope.
I especially loved the final chapter which brought me almost to tears.
As you perhaps have gathered I got so involved with the story that I felt a part of it and that is the gift that Leanne Davis has. She writes in such a way that the story becomes alive in your mind and you actually can feel and sense her words.
I loved this story and hope for many many more. I highly recommend it to you.
I received a free advance copy (ARC) of this book in exchange for a review.
One of the things I enjoy the most about this author's writing is how real her characters come across. None of them are perfect and they always have problems to face and overcome. This time the set up of the story line seemed a little bit of a stretch, but it was still very enjoyable, and I wasn't quite prepared for Charlie and Cami's story to end.
This is the eighth book in the series and the author does state that it can be read as a stand alone. While I have read the first two books in the series, I felt like I was missing a lot when I jumped ahead to read this one, so I would recommend reading them all in the order they were written. Now to go read books 3-7 and find out what I missed!
This was a great story. Cami and Charlie's journey to happily ever after was a rough road. But in the end it was a testament of true love. They both grew up a lot during this book. I was torn up to pieces reading this and put back together again. Everything I read by this author is so well written I feel every emotional upheaval and I laugh and cry and celebrate with these characters. I loved reading Cami and Charlie's story. My only complaint is that I finished reading it and it means I'm drawing closer to the end of the River's End series. It will be a sad day when I reach the last book because I have followed the stories of these families and watched them grow. But this author has many more great books for me to read!
Rivers destiny follows Cami & Charlie best friends since kids but complete opposites. Charlie, hugely intelligent and sensible and Cali always pushing the boundaries. With high school finished Charlie finally lets his true feelings for Cani show and to his surprise they are reciprocated. However Charlie is off to Stanford and Cami is left on the ranch, somewhere she never has an interest in leaving. Charlie meanwhile wants to experience the world. The book shows how the 2 have to overcome large obstacles, betrayal to find their way through their relationship and see if their differences will finally drive them apart.
Ive enjoyed all of the books in this series. The way the author re enters the characters to have their own story. I love Charlie and Cami. They are good friends since children and then grow to more. This story is very believable and the two go through so much that your wondering what is going to happen next. Charlie I have to say is very loyal and true and all the twist and turns still stands tall. Cami the same, she is dealing with the past but also the future and decisions they have to make are truly something. I love the way the author tells the story and you always want just a little more....
Cami and Charlie have been best friends since she arrived at River’s End. She is impulsive and rebellious. Charlie is the youngest son of Jack Rydell, her step-mother’s half-brother. Charlie is all about grand gestures and becomes the world to Cami. Charlie has never shown much of an interest in ranching and has plans to pursue his career. Cami flounders when he leaves her and makes a series of poor decisions. Charlie aggravated me in this book. I found his waiting until she got her life together to expect her to sacrifice it all for him very frustrating. But, one can’t deny the romance and strong love they share to be moving. AJ and Kate’s support and guidance with Cami was beautiful.
I thoroughly Cami and Charlie’s story. Cami, had such a hard childhood before she found her father AJ and stepmom Kate. I honestly didn't know how this would end and it saddened me of what emotion baggage she had for such a young lady. Charlie, had the almost perfect childhood and so much love towards him. I thought in AJ and Kate story they would end up together but their story was epic. The love he had for Cami at such a young age was like a fairytale. This story didn't disappoint just brought a lot of tears and laughs. I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves a great love story.
The entire River's End series is seriously fantastic! River's Destiny is Charlie and Cami's story which I absolutely loved as much as the rest of the series! Charlie has been in love with his childhood best friend Cami since forever even though they are complete opposites. But when Charlie learns that Cami feels the same they finally decide to give a relationship a chance. This is a great story about friends to lovers who must overcome differences and obstacles to find a way for their relationship to grow.
This was so good! Charlie and Cami have been best friends since she moved to town. Finally, they become more. That is just the beginning of the story. What follows is a very realistic look at love between two people who want completely different things out of life. The book took a totally different turn then what I had anticipated and it was refreshing to read. Another wonderful saga from one of my go-to authors!
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done! ❤️
The way this Author writes just brings you into the story. Thank you Leanne Davis for a great series. Two more left to go. This story of Cami & Charlie is wonderful. You know them as kids & to watch them grow into their own persons finally realizing who they are & what they want. To watch them switch roles in their relationship. Cami unsure & insecure turning into a woman who knows what she wants. Charlie becoming insecure from being away from Cami. Great read!
This might be my favorite in the series!!! I love Charlie and Cami's story...hits on every topic good and bad that makes up an amazing story/journey of love, hope, tragedy, travel, hearta!che, loss ugh I could go on forever...I so didn't see the ending and was devastated that it ended!!! I can't wait to see how their story continues. Leanne Davis is a ROCKSTAR!!!!!
What a sweet, sweet first love...the one we all want, and wished we'd had. The forever-no-matter-what love, that grows and completes you. Charlie and Cami are perfectly flawed. I love these characters, their emotions, their hopes and dreams and disappointments... GAH! I LOVE LEANNE DAVIS. She knows emotional investment like no author I've ever read. Rips your heart out and gives it a name and a story. Keeping you coming back for more, more and more. Yes, please.
Rivers Destiny was one of the most emotional books I've ever read. I would read again in a heartbeat. This is Cami and Charlie's story. I dont think I've ever cried so much from reading a book. Cami's story about her upbringing as a child broke my heart. It took Charlie a long time before he understood some of what she felt. Distance for them helped thier relationship grow into something deeper then words and actions. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the River Ends series.
Wow!! This author has made me love and hate these characters big, big time!
The whole first part of this book I was screaming at Cami to open her eyes! It’s all about Charlie, what Charlie thinks he should happen and where he thinks things should go and progress. I kept thinking Cami grow some balls do something for yourself!
I loved to scream at these characters, that’s when you know you have found a great author!
This one may have you in tears. They have been best friend for years and they decide to take it to the next level. He goes to college leaving her at home and they visit with each other and they have a great relationship but they have their ups n downs but will they be able to overcome their issues and take their relationship to the next step.
Can two people who want diametrically opposite things from life, live on together, finding happiness, overcoming obstacles, growing up? This is a wonderful book, layered character development. It's like being with friends, with family. Watching their growth, especially hers, is wonderful.recommended.
This is book 8 in the River ends series. We get to take the journey with Charlie and Cami. Loved this friends to lover story. They have known each other forever then they took the next step. Charlie leaves for college with leaves Cami back at the ranch. This is a stand alone but i recommend reading the others also. They are all great but you get more back story knowing everyone.
I think Charlie has always been my favorite Rydell, and I was surprised, yet not, when he fell in love with Cami. Their love story, starting at eighteen, showed that sometimes you have to do a little growing up and some soul searching to find happiness in life. People grow and change. It was a bumpy road with a lot of baggage, but it was a meaningful one.
So this is what I hate to do but it's needed. This book just bored me. I couldn't get into it at all and I tried. I felt that Charlie pretty much took charge in everything and Cami was just along for the ride. Like there was no backbone on her at all. This was definitely my last favorite book of this series. I hope the next one is better.
This was my least favorite book of this series. Cami's character was written as being very broken and insecure because of her childhood. It was unbelievable that AJ and Kate would not have gotten therapy and counseling for Cami. I'm enjoying the River's End series but this storyline was not as good as the earlier books.
Charlie, Charlie, Charlie ***shaking my head*** ...
Looking down on others really can come back and bite you in the nose! Perfect Charlie grows up to learn that life isn't a bed of roses and sometimes your plan changes. You will definitely run the gamut of feelings in this story.
Omg this is the 8th book in the series complete stand alone but why wouldn’t you want to read the first 7! This is Charlie & cami’s story! Best friend to lovers! Lots of angst and emotion!!!
Charlie fell for his best friend Cami and even though they loved each other there came ups and down with their relationship. This book was intense and well written and just so interesting to read, it was another great book to an great series.
This was a greaest story of the series . Cami and Charlie's journey to happily ever after was a rough road. But in the end it was a testament of true love. They both grew up a lot during this book..ypu could feel their emotion throughout the book.it a must read ...hurry and get it ..you wont regret
