A vampire and a human with a strong attraction neither of them could resist.

Vampires won the war years ago, and everything on Earth had changed. Alima Morgan refused to watch her people bend to the will of vampires. She hated them for all of the destruction they had caused.

She was a rebel and would fight until there was no more breath left in her body.

But then her name was chosen in the draft. Apparently, she had been matched with a powerful vampire—the daughter of the king.

Against her will, she was shipped off to the princess.

Alima wasn’t afraid of the bloodsucker, and she sure as hell didn’t believe in destined mates.

Lethia Riskel wasn’t opposed to mating with a human. As a warden of the east, she needed someone at her side to rule. Her curiosity was piqued with one look at the human. She was stubborn, fiery, and would have to be tamed. Lethia was just the vampire for the challenge of breaking her new charge.

Thrust into a world of darkness and desire, Alima found herself falling for Lethia. As much as she tried to resist, she found herself craving Lethia’s touch, kiss, and even her bite.

With a war on the horizon, Lethia was a strong vampire who would protect her mate from the enemy, and prove they were meant to be.

The second book in the series and it didn't disappoint. Rumors of vampire cruelty and blood thirst are rampant among humans. Rebel groups are on the rise against the vampires with vampire Princess Lethia most feared. Privately, she longs to find her fated mate and happiness just as her sister has. Human Alima is found to be the perfect match but her deep set hatred of vampires must be overcome, truth revealed and lies exposed before vampire and human can find love. Battles, treachery, jealousy, a Lycan move for domination all play a part in this storyline laced with heat.
Looking forward to part 3.

This one was… better than the first but still kinda ‘meh’ for me. I felt bad rating it lower tho, bc it WAS better than the first one. Maybe bc I read it instead of listening to that godawful narrator for Quinn in the first, maybe bc Alima had more of a backbone and there was a lot more drawn out for her to be into the idea of Lethia, maybe bc the lycan and rebels plot was a little better for me personally than the first one? I dunno. Maybe I’m just more used to this world and therefore kinda on board?

I will say tho, a lot of this felt like a retread of the first one. Esp with Alima and Quinn fist coming to the castle (being embarrassed by the dirty water after their first baths, totally dumbfounded by the castle, etc) the beats felt reallllly similar, esp just coming off reading the fist one.

I will ALSO say that um… the sex scenes to me were not erotic. Lol ‘slick channel’ and constant talk of ‘creaminess’ is not my thing, but if it’s yours, this is the one for you I guess. I miiiiight read the third only bc I’m curious if the older sister will actually hold up her not wanting a partner, and so far the vampires have been All In at first sight, and it would be interesting if it was… not that for once. But we’ll see.

I'm a sucker for a good vampire romance, and I really enjoyed this one. I like the alternate world the are set in and feel like they have a unique take on the typical vampire novels. Iced heart keeps you on your toes with lots of action throughout and a continuation of the storyline from the first in the series. This is one that should be read only after reading the first, I feel like a lot would be lost without that background. There are some pretty hot scenes in this just like there were in Deadly Kiss. It could use an edit but it was still an easy read. Keeping my fingers crossed for a third installment with the final Riskel sister!

I loved this 2nd installment of the Immortal Reign book. This time we got to see Lethia matched in the draft with a human, Alima, who wants nothing to do with her whatsoever.
Whilst it's love at first sight for the Viking Princess, it's hate at first sight for her mate.
The book took us on a rollercoaster as we battled to work out who the goodies were and who the baddies amongst the Lycan enemy. I really enjoyed the world building and would have traded places with Alima in a heartbeat.
The book ended on a high, but the next book in the series where we meet Hegna's intended will carry on the background story of the battle of the Lycan armies versus the vampires.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Iced Heart: A FF Vampire Paranormal Romance (The Immortal Reign Book 2)

I have always loved Vampire stories, especially ones with Lesbians as the main characters.  This story centered around three sisters that were placed in the draft . Book two is about Lethia. She would love to have a mate and she does not even mind if her soul mate is human.

Alima was heartbroken after the death of her sister, and wanted to fight and protect others that had been captured by the vampires. She had a close friend, Javari who wanted to help and look out for her. Alima did not have money and was poor, doing odd jobs to survive.

Alima was in awe  of the castle. It was beautiful and what she had dreamed of as a child. There was an attraction she felt instantly to Lethia.

Alima was given wrong information about the vampires and how they retrieved their mates. She did not realize that in their mind their mate was a treasure.

This is an action-packed book. Alima was on the run just about the whole book. I will say she was in pain from what happened to her sister and felt like it would be betrayal if she mated with her Vampire.

The bond between them was very strong .

Aubrey was a wonderful supporting character. There were so many great supporting characters in this story . Lethia Army were also loyal to her. Everyone she had around her would give their lives for her.  For about 90 percent of the book, Alima was fighting against the attraction she felt towards Lethia. She finally gave in and their bounds were sealed.

It’s a very nice read. I enjoyed the book 4 stars.

This was my second (attempted) book by Ariel Marie. I love paranormal books, and if you throw in some forced proximity, I’m sold. This is the second in the Immortal Reign trilogy.

I’m going to reiterate what I wrote on the first book:
I try not to give reviews for books if I DNF them. Yet, I just needed to rate and review this properly. This book really disappointed me for many reasons. The plot and beginning makes it seem like Alima Morgan would be an ice queen. This is definitely false. She caves in so quickly with Lethia Riskel. Then it just felt like insta-love due to the story being about soulmates. I wanted some tension, banter, and denial of feelings (which is what you typically find in ice queen books). I also thought the writing was a bit… plain? It did not feel very well-written.

Marie claims that “Alima found herself falling for Lethia”. However, it was definitely insta-love. I felt like both characters skipped the falling stage. Sadly, my feelings continue for Marie’s writing. I will try the last book in the series to see how that one goes.
➢Happy reading!

very enjoyable

The writing flow very well. I like the formula in terms of the background with the vampires and they’re coming out and what subsequently happened to Humane Society. Lincon said it is wonderful reading. I didn’t think Miss Marie could talk the sexual content of the pineapple, but she did indeed!!! I think the one thing that is difficult for me is that there doesn’t appear to be much deviation from the formula. Every princess thus far is matched with a female who’s short and as Miss Ariel puts it, pleasingly, plump and curvy. I don’t think being 5 foot and a half and weighing 250 pounds is pleasing pump. It’s obese. Big women need love to! I have nothing against being with an obese person, but it’s kind of hard to visualize when I’m reading. I mean someone who is 6 foot in heels with someone who is 5 1/2 feet. So it is difficult. I’m very glad that she writes it so that they large women are sexual and sexy creatures, and that they are vampire lovers the fact that are crazy about the curves but it would be nice to have some variation when it comes to the vampire mate matches, otherwise great writing and a fun read.

I enjoyed reading this paranormal story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorite by her. This is a well written story about a vampire and a human that have a strong chemistry that they find hard to resist. This is a fast paced story that I really enjoyed. The characters are relateable and brought the story to life. They made the story easy and entertaining to read. The authors use of details made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. I enjoyed watching the growth of the plot throughout. This is a hard to put down story that you don't want to miss. I highly recommend this book.

just a fancy abduction rape story wrapped in a pretty packed, the humans have no choice. Vampires might take care of there mates, but the humans have no choice in it. and then out of nowhere the humans are just okey with it, brainwashed stockholm syndrom, direct quote from book "Even if it was a human who didn’t want to be mated to a vampire, Lethia would make them. She’d keep them locked away until they couldn’t help but love her" " But Lethia was up for the challenge of breaking her."

dissapointing considering there is so few f/f superatural vampire books.

Great and enjoyable read (Book 2 of the immortal reign)) "

This was an interesting and enjoyable read also a brilliant story.
This time a rebal is caught up in the draft and gets to escape but is caught and taken to her mate. But her mate is a princess and she is out in as dungeon when she arrives.
This story flows from the start- middle - end.
Ariel Marie did another excellent job writing this series, looking forward to reading the next one in it.

I read the whole book, and it just didn’t get better for me.
Alima and the complaining and up and down and whining; I can understand the mixed emotions, but reading it from her was annoying to me.
There were spelling mistakes and the wrong word used (ie saying Leitha, when it was clearly supposed to be Alima). I get that that can happen; I just couldn’t look past it in this book, I don’t know why.
The description of the creaminess and cream and slick channels got to be too much. Apparently not the descriptors for me.

I really like this world but this book felt a little too much like a retread of the first so I took a star off for that.
The dynamic wasn’t for me as well, the entire time I really wanted to be reading the older sister's story. Seems the author still has me in for one more book 😆

Like the first book, this has a lot of typos, mixed-up names, and some grammar/readability issues. Nothing show stopping but enough to pull you out of the story sometimes

awesome

Awesome story. This is an interesting and awesome universe of vampires, humans and lycans. Since this is book 2 we’re able to meet the next sister and more about the Royal Vampire family of Riskel. What a ride. Hopefully there will be a book 3 based on Hegna the oldest sister.

Nice entry into this vampire paranormal romance series. Not as good as the first one, I have to say. However, I liked the story and characters. I just didn't quite like the ending. It seemed a bit quick for Alima to switch from hating vampire that took her sister, to then loving a pureblood vampire.

I do love a good sapphic vampire romance, and Iced Heart did not disappoint! It was a slower burn than the first in the series, and I actually think I loved it more. Alima was such a strong, defiant main character, perfectly matched to Lethia. The secondary characters were on point, and the action in the story was great. I can't wait to read the third book!

Could pass off as wattpad or ao3 fanfiction so good enough for me. I will say I wanted to explore the lycan-versus-vampire conflict before the book ended hence I took one star away. Regardless, this was short and fun. I will be picking up the next book.

Cheers to paranormal lesbians getting their happily ever after!

Kinda yikes.

Extremely similar story beats to the first one. Also, does the author know how weight works? Alima is 5 and a half feet tall and 240 pounds and has "a narrow waist"? Dawg, no one that weight and that height has a narrow waist. Overall I just didn't care about the relationship, which is pretty much a death knell for a romance focused book.

Once again loved it

Different from the first one. Felt like there was less spice and more resisting. Cuffed to the wall stuff was very interesting.
I'm looking forward to the third book when I get it because Hegna would be the one resisting this time but the human is all for it judging by the description. Can't wait to get my hands on it!

Enjoyed the hot romance

I enjoyed this book more than I did to the second book. I can’t wait to see what happens with the next sister. I’m also hoping that we know what happens to the other missing mates as well in the next book.
