Naked Heat #1

Falling for a Stranger

Rate this book
Out of a room full of women, his eyes lock on mine.

The muscled dancer is agile and skilled, and my gaze hungrily follows every teasing move. When he steps off the stage to stalk toward me, a shiver ripples down my spine.

I’ve never had such an intense reaction to a guy before, especially not a stranger.

But this is a tall, dark fantasy brought to life—one with a mischievous grin and chiseled abs.

When he grips my hips, a thrilling rush courses through me, and I lose all ability to think logically. That's why I accept his invitation to grab a drink after the show.

My adrenaline spikes further with each low whisper in my ear, until my lips find his in a searing kiss.

With the wild energy of Sin City swirling around us, we float up to the privacy of a hotel room.

We agree to one blissful night—that's all we can have, even if I hate the thought of never seeing him again.

But Sebastian’s an exotic dancer for Vegas’s hottest male revue show.

How could he be my forever?

From reading Strip for Me’s blurb, I knew I had to give this debut novel a chance. On a whole, I enjoyed the romance between Sebastian and Kendall—once it finally got going.

I loved Sebastian’s self-confidence and “give no F’s” attitude. He was proud of his achievements and wasn’t going to allow anyone to belittle him. He was looking toward the future—toward fulfilling his dream and dancing was merely a means to an end.

But I struggled a bit with Kendall, she came off as selfish and self-centered sometimes. And judgmental. She paid lip service to how open and accepting she was, but in reality, she really was a bit closed-minded. Being with Sebastian certainly helped her get over some of these issues, but it took a while.

Overall, Strip for Me was a typical debut novel. Some bumps in the road, some awkwardness in the story, but I would like to know what happens next in the series. ~ Missy, 3 stars

It’s not a secret that I have a lot of love for different types of tropes. Stripper books are one of those that I’m a sucker for. When I saw this cover, title, and, blurb, I was all in and besides, Georgia Coffman is a new to me author and I was intrigued to see what her writing style would be like.

Sebastian was intriguing to me right off the bat. He wasn’t ashamed of who he was and what he did. He was working at Naked Heat, because he had bigger and grander plans than stripping, but stripping was a necessary step to get to where he wanted to be. Sebskey had also found a brotherhood with the boys of Naked Heat, a family of sorts, and Ty and Leo were closer than brothers to Sebastian. They were with him through many of his life trials.

Kendall is the younger, estranged sister at her sister’s bachelorette party which is held at Naked Heat. Kendall is unapologetic, down to earth, quick tempered, but an all-around real individual. However, she has walls and those walls are there to not only protect herself, but to protect herself from others. She meets Sebastian while at the bachelorette party and feels a connection of sorts to him. They have a one-night stand, but is that all?

Strip for Me is all about Kendall and Sebastian stripping down their walls, insecurities, and learning to rely on another person. There were spots in the book, that they both came across as immature and Kendall also being whiny. That part of the character development killed it for me. I realize a person needs to have ‘issues’ for them to grow, but there were different spots that just seemed to be stalled, because of the way they were acting. A good portion of this book is laying down the framework for other books in the series, which also seemed to drag a little.

Despite these issues, I saw very promising writing and storytelling skills from Ms. Coffman. I am intrigued to read all about Ty and Emma in the next book. Ty is this larger than life character who always has a smile or laugh on his face.

‘Sebastian Davis makes me feel things no other guy has ever been able to do. Even with just a f@cking smirk, my knees buckle. With a touch, it all goes to H@ll. When he says I’m beautiful, the most dangerous move of all on a girl like me, I almost believe him.’

3.5 STARS REVIEW

Contemporary Romance

First Person, dual-POV

This is book #1 of Naked Heat series and this is Ms. Coffman's debut novel.

Addictiveness: 4/5  This story was fun and interesting to follow. It was an easy read with good pace and cool plot.  As addictive as pizza!!!

Character: hero 4/5, heroine 2/5, secondary characters 4/5, growth 4/5, real 4/5 Both main characters were a bit immature, but they have shown throughout the story good personal growth. I've liked and understood them, but had a harder time to connect.

Sebastian was a good hero. He was hot, smart, had big dreams, loyal to his friends and a loving boyfriend. He was a bit immature sometimes, but most part of his insecurities were because he came from a dysfunctional family.

This book had lots of interesting secondary characters. Emma, Kendall's best friend, was a good friend (she did put up with Kendall childish behavior all the time). Ty and Leo from the Naked Heat were some of the males that I would love to read their book.

Villains.. antagonists… .The biggest villain of this story was Kendall's immaturity and the greatest antagonist was Sebastian hung-up on his past experience. They had to grow up and be adults to face life.

The hero was easy to like, connect and understand!

Cover: art 4/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, buy 4/5  I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. This book cover is hot, but a bit generic. It could work for several books, I don't see anything particularly made for this story. I love the title, I think it fits the story and the use of colors/font was really smart. I would probably buy this book by its cover without needing to read the blurb!

Freshness: 3.5/5 This is contemporary romance with strippers, but male strippers. I've liked the concept. There is nothing complete original, but the story as a whole felt refreshing.  As fresh as mint tea!

Plot: believable 4/5, conflict 3/5, dialogue 4/5, ending 5/5, enjoyment 3.5/5, opening 5/5, pace 4/5, setting 5/5, subplots 4/5, twists 4/5  Exciting opening for an amazing ending. Good dialogues, great pace, wonderful setting. Interesting subplot with a bit convoluted conflict and ok twists.  Good level of enjoyment!

Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 5/5, description 5/5, development 5/5, steam 4/5  This was a romantic contemporary romance. From the beginning of the book I believed on the main characters attraction to each other. When together their chemistry was undeniable and their love story felt really believable. The smut had great descriptions and was executed. There were lots of scenes, but they all felt part of the story. Passionate love!

Writing Style: 3/5  I didn't know while reading, but then read somewhere that this was the debut novel for Ms. Coffman. She did a solid job. Her plot concept was great, she has created the perfect setting for an ongoing series. The hero was really easy to love and the love story was very well executed. The story felt fresh and the pace made this a very comfortable read. Good writing!!!

Character: The heroine!

Kendall was really hard to like, connect or understand. It was really shocking because at the first few chapters, while still in Vegas, it felt like she would be this amazing kick-ass heroine that I would love. But, throughout most of the book she was insecure, immature and phony. Yes, she had some baggage, but that is life, nobody gets a free ride. Her actions were really hard to justify. She was a horrible sister, a self-centered friend, a whiny girlfriend and not a very good daughter. She was very judgmental and came out as if her family wasn't accepting, but neither was she. She was always messing up, but never accepting blame and couldn't say she was sorry. She had no drive, no aspirations, but it was everybody's fault but her own. She did have the biggest character growth in the history of books, but it took too long and by the time that it happened I was ready to see her go.

Plot: I guess there were some subplots that felt like loose ends. While Kendall's family was well explored and explained, Sebastian's was a bit convoluted and hard to comprehend.

This was a wonderful debut for the author. She has created a good foundation for a series with a main group of interesting characters to be explored (the Naked Heat dancers) and several places that she could go forward with the series.

The beginning and the ending of the story were really strong and it left me wanting Ty and Emma's book.

Would I recommend? I think this series has promise to be a fun, sexy read!

Would I re-read this book/series? No, but I will follow the series.

Would I read more from the author? I want to read the series and from their I will see.

You MAY read this because you like contemporary romance, you SHOULD read this because you enjoy good smut; you MUST read this for a good love story!!!

This was a good book, but wasn’t amazed. There wasn’t anything special about it that blew my mind. I also read this book during a reading slump so that didn’t help anything.

Better than magic Mike.

A brilliantly written book. First time I’ve read anything from this author but I assure you it won’t be the last. Fell in love with Sebastian from the get go. Kendall is a spitfire. Both dealing with hurtful past but together they were on fire. Loved, loved this book. Ty seems a hoot so can’t wait for his story. Leo’s too. Wowzer

From brand new author, Georgia Coffman, Strip For Me stripped me bare!! What I thought was going to be a fun and playful tale of male strippers, this story when full into the feels and was layer upon layer of emotions and full on self-discovery. Don't be fooled by this MEGA HOT cover, there's plenty of Magic Mike dance moves, Sebastian is one complicated man. He totes his baggage around like scars he's proud to own. Kendall is also in the same boat. Both have had emotionally traumatic past experiences that have shaped them today and how they interact in their relationships. The way Georgia has explored their reactions and connections struck a profound cord with me.

Strip For Me got right down to the core of what it means to be all-in for Sebastian and Kendall. What inspired me most was Kendall's self-esteem struggles. This is a very real topic for most women and it was written so well!! Sebastian and Kendall were explosive from the start, straight out a movie, I was imagining their first dance in "da club". From there, they took they'll hotness to a new level. Every time they're total, it's totally combustible!! Not only that, they bring out the best in each other. That's what makes my heart sing in the end, and I'm cheering for them every step of the way. I can't wait for more by Georgia!!

Strip for Me is the debut novel for Georgia Coffman and it was captivating. I almost want to book a flight to Las Vegas just to see some hot male stripper because there is nothing wrong with a half-naked man dancing round.

Sebastian knows better than to sleep with a woman he met at a show but the moment he laid eyes on her, he couldn’t stop himself. Kendall is a small-town girl just looking for her place in the big city, but the night of her sister’s bachelorette party change her life more then she thought was possible.

I don’t think I have words to describe how good this book was. From the first chapter, I was hooked and couldn’t stop reading. The twist in this book I knew was coming but I didn’t want to happen hit and I was still in shock. But nothing was better than what happened at the wedding between sisters – I’m still laughing about that. I am really looking forward to seeing what happens with Seb’s BF and Kendell’s BF!

I am highly recommending that you give this New Author a try.

I liked this book and I think that Georgia Coffman had the right amount of engagement throughout the book to keep my interest. That being said, I really had difficulty connecting with our leading lady-Kendall, she just seemed so fake to me and I started warming up towards her at the end, but it took a WHILE. Now, Sebastian stole the show for me. I freaking adored everything about him from the beginning and connected with his character RIGHT away. He was one of the main reasons that I adored this book. Just know that he is not perfect, not even freaking close, but I liked how real he was and he felt just a bit more genuine than Kendall.

All in all, I liked the book and connected more so with one of the characters than both, BUT I am also VERY much so looking forward to the next book in the series because Georgia set that book up so perfectly, I cannot help but be intrigued by it! All in all this was a 4 outta 5 stars for me and intrigued for what is next!

PS: Thank you to Georgia and Wildfire Marketing for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review!

From the first page, I was captured. Georgia’s writing is brilliant and captivating. Even though at times I wanted to strangle them, I loved that Sebastian and Kennedy were flawed and real. It made their story easy to connect to. This is a great debut book and I can’t wait to read more by her. I’m really hoping for a book with Emma and Ty!

Loved!

I’ve been waiting for this book to go into KU and I’m so excited it did. I absolutely loved it. This is a romance story but it also is a story about self-discovery and not being afraid to follow your dreams.

It super steamy with a little Magic Mike flair which of course is awesome. Overall I really enjoyed this book

Loved it

This book sucks you in and makes you want to keep reading into the early hours of the morning. The characters are relatable. Maybe not in profession, but definitely in their flaws and eventual growth. I can't wait to see Emma and Ty's story unfold.

I'll start with I'm not a reviewer that hashes out the story, if you're reading the reviews you already know what it's about. I will tell you what I look for in a review, what I like (or don't) about the story without spoilers. This was a quick fun read. The characters are well developed and likeable. The story itself is believable. It's moves at a good pace, no lagging or rushing. I was a bit disappointed that it took so long to use your grown up words and work through some of the angsty plot, but that's just me. I'm sometimes a bit impatient when opportunities for growth are overlooked by the characters. All in all, I would recommend this book. It's my first by this author but it won't be my last.

Oh the fall

To be honest I didn’t know what this book was about before I started it and let me tell you; wow! I loved having a book that the LMC was a stripper. Usually the role is filled with women so it was seriously awesome to have it be a man. That being said, there was a lot to love about this book. I fell completely in love with the characters and their dynamics. This book kept me interested and engaged. I constantly wanted to know what was going to happen next and how things were going to work. I am looking forward to reading more from this series as I now feel so invested. Which I think is crazy since this is only book one. But I guess that’s pretty telling then. BRING ON MORE HEAT!!

Wow this book...

This book is the definition of a perfect Insta love book except... The only thing I wish was different is how the sexy scenes play out. In the beginning of the book they were hot and heavy but as the book went on the sex scenes got shorter, less detailed, and rushed almost. Idk if that's just this author's writing style or what. But other than that this book was really good the plot was very relatable. There were a couple times i felt like i was yelling at the h to stop being so insecure. But I know me wanting to yell at the character just means I'm really into and enjoying the book. Overall a pretty good book.

This was Sebastian and Kendall's story and the start to a new series. I liked that they seemed to be right and good for each other. I did struggle with getting bored a few times and sick of their sexual scenes. I think they make a good couple, I just wish they had more time together. I ordered the rest of the series because I thought I do I like it so I hope Emma and Ty make me want to keep me reading cuz I did think about skipping around in this one.

What an awful female lead

I really struggled to get through this book. The female lead was an awful person. She only redeemed herself in the last few chapters. I’m glad it was on KU and I hadn’t paid for this rubbish. I certainly won’t be reading the rest of the series.

Strip for Me is the debut novel for new and upcoming author Georgia Coffman. It’s also the first book in The Naked Heat Series. This book was highly enjoyable and I’m excited to see what’s next from this author.

This story follows Kendall and Sebastian.

Kendall isn’t close to her sister Lauren. In fact, they don’t get along at all but as sisters, Kendall feels obligated to attend her sister’s bachelorette party… a weekend in Vegas. Moving from a small-minded town in Alabama, Kendall now lives in LA so when her sister has her bachelorette party so close, there’s no excuse. What Kendall isn’t expecting is to meet a man that’ll soon turn her world upside down.

Vegas, Sin City. The City that never sleeps. Home of bachelor and bachelorette debauchery. Where the slot machines are always going, and shows are always happening… especially if you are a stripper.

Sebastian is a part of Naked Heat, an all-male review show. Spending his nights performing for screaming women, he’s become accustomed to the women and the grabbing. What he doesn’t expect is to see a beautiful blond in yoga pants in the club. Faced with an intensifying attraction to her, he’s determined to learn more about her. However, his past is determined to complicate things.
So what happens when sparks connect between a stripper and just an average girl?!? Well, you’ll just have to find out yourself….

I was impressed with this book especially since it’s a debut novel from this author. The story was well written and interesting. It had humor and drama galore. The characters were likable. Overall it was a good start to a series, and I will read this author again.

4 stars!
