Book 1 - First Encounter.
I found this book hard to put down. I couldn't wait to find out what happened. It is a bit different regarding alien invasion. My comment - wow!

Book 2 - Occupied Earth
This book is not for the faint hearted with all the killings and the terrible dregs - enough to give you a nightmare. The concept of the dregs is not new. I have seen something similar in at least two other stories. However, Jasper T Scott has made them a bit different from the other stories. It was an absorbing tale with aliens, a terrible virus, brainwashing of children, a coward, traitors, lots of suspense and was fast paced. An enjoyable read.

Book 3 - Fractured Earth
This third book in the series Ascension Wars is the best one so far. I enjoyed the other two but this one is great. I can't wait to read the next one.

Book 4 - Second Encounter
I enjoyed the Ascension Wars series. This fourth book was a well written story to end the saga. The ending was unexpected, but I thought it was outstanding and I loved it. Jasper T Scott has done an admirable job writing these four books. The story flowed. I found this book hard to put down. I must admit that I think the third book was the best one of the four, but did enjoy the fourth one immensely. The whole series was excellent.

I recommend this series of books. It is well worth reading.

Started weak, got strong, flailed in the end.

Mr. Scott writes really well, but I'm never sure where he's going... And neither does he. What I *think* he wanted to write was an occupied Earth story--a human resistance fighting against the aliens--but instead he starts with trying to colonize a new planet. And that would have been cool, but it turned out to be for nothing. Because the second and third books are about the occupied Earth. And they're really good! But then he upped the ante too high in book three. And instead of just ending it in a trilogy, he... follows the survivors of the previous books. But I never feel that the characters--or the author--know where he wants to go. The last third of the fourth book is obviously flailing, because instead of ending with a satisfying conclusion, he finished the previous story too soon, and felt he had to pad it out to get the word count. So it ends well... but only after needlessly traveling and killing off characters to do it.

My recommendation -- read the second and third books only. You don't need to read the first to find out what the background is -- the author will tell you. And if you want to find out what happened between books one and two, he has another trilogy for that.

Final analysis: good writing, decent universe, but no clear vision.

First Encounter

I am a Jasper T. Scott fan and enjoy all his books. I will say that this book did start a little slow as far as action sequences, but it is laying out the story so you will know what is going on. There were twists and turns in the story that were interesting and kept me wanting to know what happens next.

There is first contact and then other aliens.

There is the question posed to the scientists while experimenting on animals as to whether or not an alien would do the same to humans.

There is more to this book than just a few characters. It sets up reasons for a rebellion against the aliens.

I enjoyed the book and recommend it.

Occupied Earth -

This book is better than the first one in the series. Caption Cross, his family and friends are desperate to survive the occupation of the earth by the Kyra. This book tells the harrowing journey he and his family take in order to be together and survive the hell on earth that the Kyra have produced. All I can say about this book is: WOW! I LOVED IT! I can't wait to read what happens next. As usual Jasper Scott has written a wonderful book that I would highly recommend. It is GREAT!

I look forward to reading the next books in the series.

Good Series

Overall, I really enjoyed this series. I haven't read anything yet that has this series unique plot line. There are a few things that reminded me of other stories. I found some similarities to Battlestar Galactica, Starship Troopers, Aliens, and World War Z. I have also noticed that Jasper has a thing for writing in female characters that are sometimes so annoying that I really don't care if they die or not. The first book has one, but she finally calms down, only to be replaced in the second book by a different character. Both characters seem to be like cats that have nine lives. Even though they are annoying, it wasn't enough to make me stop reading. I will continue to read books by this author, and I would recommend this author to other readers.

Another Great series by a unique oh brilliant author.

From the beginning Captain Clayton Cross had his hands full with the Forerunner 1 starship. A colony ship 400 meters long headed to a distant star system to start humanity's first steps out of the Sol System. Upon finding the target planet to be nearly like earth they land a team of scientists and discover its inhabited, and they are all friendly. Things continue to escalate with starships pursuing Forerunner out of their system. With communication with earth they head home to the closest star base. This yarn Jasper Scott has written will keep you turning pages all night long.
Another great series from a gifted Author.

great story!

Started slowly and it didn’t seem to flow together. But the story got more and more exciting with every chapter. All 4 books in the series got more intriguing. Every time the characters were in hot water, something amazing and creative happened to save them! I couldn’t stop reading.

Ascsension Wars

Mostly a good read. Well worth the price. For me the books had too many cliffhanger. Sometimes it became monotonous. The books are still worth your time and money.

Impressive. I was not prepared to be impressed. How can an author keep my interest in a story that spans 4 books? Well, he did and with nice clean prose. Fresh infusions of new characters that play a povotal role in the story and died off some of the same. Nice job!

A well written and exciting read, but at times I felt the story became a little too repetitive.
