This is a BDSM Romance, and this is the third book in the Serpent's Kiss series. I loved the characters in this book, and they were very developed. This book pulled me into the story from the beginning, and the ending was so great. This book is not for everyone there are some very steamy and detailed scenes, and of course there is some BDSM in this book. I did love the storyline, and I loved the pull that the two main characters as to each other. I felt that the mix of drama and other stuff worked so well in this book. I think this book is very well written. I won a signed paperback edition of this book from a Goodreads giveaway. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Glancing down, she inspected her abused nipple. “Doesn’t look like you broke the skin. I think I’ll survive.”

“The submissives at the club seem so...submissive.” He was about to point out the irony in that statement but remained quiet as she continued. “I mean, I know Ali isn’t most of the time, but there she’s different. And it isn’t just her. All I have to do is watch someone for a few minutes and I can tell if they’re a Dom or a sub in the way they interact with people.” Kim sighed. “I’m just not sure I can do that.”
“So you’re not sure you can defer to your Dom?” He paused. “To me?” He tried not to let disappointment take over his thoughts. She was new to this and it would take time for her to figure it out. Heaven knew it had taken him a while to find his feet.
“I don’t know.” She met his gaze, sadness in her eyes. “I want to, but I’m afraid I’ll disappoint you.”
He ran a hand down the side of her face and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. “Remember what I said last night about trust?”
She nodded.
“At the heart of it, that’s what this lifestyle is. Trust. You don’t have to trust every Dom you meet. You don’t have to obey every Dom, either. But the connection you have with the one you choose to be your Dom should allow you to feel comfortable enough to give up control.”
“What if I can’t?” Her question was honest, and knowing her like he did, he could understand her concern.

She nodded. “I need to get out of my own head.”

This was an okay read. I've come to realize that BDSM books aren't really my cup of tea. In this one Justin and Kim have liked each other for a long time. However, he is her brothers best friend. So this complicates things. They end up having a relationship together. Thankfully everything works out and they get their happy ending.

Sherri Hayes has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Kim and Justin. Kim has found out that her friend Ali is a member of the BDSM club Serpents Kiss. They have a few talks about this and Kim agrees to go to the club with Ali. At the club, she sees Justin. Justin is the one guy she has had a crush on for a long time. Justin is talking to a man and a woman. The woman has a collar and Justin is holding the leash attached to it. Kin turns back to Ali and tells her she just saw Justin. Kim looks back at Justin and sees another man walk up and Justin hands him the leash. Kim has been told by Ali that she is a submissive and she decides that she wants Justin to help her figure it out. She goes to Justin's house and tells him what she wants. He agrees to give her one night since he is her brother Mark's best friend and doesn't think it would be a good idea for them to get together. The next morning, Justin knows he has made a mistake in sleeping with Kim. He knows that one night won't be enough but he also knows that she will never be his. Mark would kill him if he messed with Kim. After three months of thinking about Kim, Justin decides to help her find a Dom. Maybe with her belonging to another Dom, he won't keep thinking about her. His plan doesn't work out well. Every time he sees her talking to another Dom he gets upset. He decides to have a talk with Kim and see if it is worth them getting together. They come up with a plan to give themselves one month to see if this is something Kim can do. They keep things a secret from her family because of her brother and they don't know if they will work out. Kim is not sure she is what Justin needs in a submissive but he tells her that they will work things out together. They plan to tell her parents and brother Mark about them if they make it the month. things happen to change that and they have to come clean before Kim is ready. Things don't go as well as Kim would like them to with Mark. Mark and Justin get into a fight the night they are to tell Kim's parents about them. Kim tells her parents that she is planning on moving in with Justin. Her parents think it is too soon but she tells them that they have waited long enough.
Will things work out between Kim and Justin?

This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

“He knew without a doubt that one night with her would never be enough.”
Brother’s best friend romances are not one of my favorites. Too often they come across silly or awkward, the brother usually ridiculous with his offense and betrayal. Also, depending on how close the two mains were growing up, sometimes it feels semi-incestuous, which doesn’t appeal to me. I was therefore delighted to discover Sherri has done a fantastic job with avoiding every pothole. This is probably one of the best brother’s best friend romances I’ve ever read. I completely believed Justin and Kim have been secretly yearning for the other all these years. There was definitely plenty of drama when her brother found out, but it didn’t make me roll my eyes.
The bdsm lifestyle is a main part of the story and factors into most every scene. It’s novice friendly so anyone not familiar with the lifestyle can follow along and it’s not a dark bdsm. I found the love scenes to be sexy and hot while not dominating the entire book. Justin is a great Dom, very book boyfriend worthy.
I do have one complaint. I read that this book was originally a shorty story included in an anthology that Sherri revised and expanded into a full book. While I’m grateful she did, I doubt it would have been near as good of a book if she hadn’t, it’s very obvious in a number of different places that this was done. A good editor should have caught the inconsistencies and repetitive parts and corrected them. It’s really too bad as otherwise it’s a really good book.
Despite my complaint this is a really great book and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to read a brother’s best friend well written. I plan to go back and read books one and two as well as any future books in the series.

This adult book is the story of Justin and Kim. I have never read a book by this author. The book is about a pair that have known each other for 17 years. Justin is Kim’s brother, Mark’s best friend. When Kim wants to discover what’s missing in her relationships and wants to explore her sexuality- she goes to a club where she spots Justin, a Dom. The pair had been attracted to each other for a long time but due to family and friends never acted on it. Kim wants to see if she could be a submissive with Justin. She approaches him in a very forward way. The book is about the two who hesitate at first then partner together to explore BDSM and a relationship. There’s some drama here. The book was okay. Very descriptive sex scenes. The downside was a lot of day to day interactions making the book slower paced and making me want to pass through sections like the group of subs meeting to talk about their feelings, specifics in a Dom/sub contract etc. Most of the book was about the lifestyle of the Dom/sub. This is the first book I've read in this series, but it's not the first book I've read from this author. I absolutely loved the previous books I've read, so I was beyond excited to read this story. I honestly had high hopes for this one. I have to be honest; it was okay for a one-time read for me. The steamy scenes between the main characters were off the charts, but I did particularly love them. Justin was okay but there was nothing about him that I absolutely loved. I wanted him to be a man and step up to tell Mark what it was with him and Kim. I don't even know where to begin with Kim and all of her crying. All I kept thinking was darn, not again. I mean come on it was ridiculous, and she was crying for things were no tears needed to be shed. I could understand her doubts and hesitation, but I just couldn't grasp how she wanted to do adult things and came off as so weak and pathetic. It was just too much. Like I said this wasn't a terrible story, but it is most definitely a one-time story for me.

Hot, Steamy Read!
Kim and Justin have known each other for over a decade, but were off limits because Justin is Kim's brother's best friend. They connect after seeing each other in a BDSM club and Kim realizes she wants to explore this further.
I loved the steamy, illicit parts of the book. The other sections seemed to drag a bit for me. I also did not feel connected with the main characters. That being said, the book did hold my interested and the build-up for Ali and Daniel's story was great and I can't wait to read it!

This is my first book from this author. I was pleasantly surprised. I absolutely got sucked into Kim and Justin story. This is a book intent for Adult. The content is very graphic and very steamy, just the way I like my books. It's a Dominant/Submissive relationship. The writing was compelling to keep reading till the end. The sex scenes are plentiful and scorching hot. I'm definitely check out her other books.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Kim and Justin have known each other for years. They have kept their feelings hidden because of family. She takes a chance to explore her submissive side and hopes that Justin is the Dom for her. This book is about passion, BDSM, exploration, trust, secrets, doubts and family. It is steamy but the storyline lacked something for me. It was good, I think i just wanted more from the characters. That didn't make it a bad book though.

I really enjoyed this romance. Kim and Justin have such a sizzling passion between them. They have loved each other for ages but Kim is trying to figure out if she fits into this lifestyle. I thought the story was well-written and the characters are so likeable. I haven’t read the others in the series yet, but his is a true standalone as it makes sense. I thought this book was steamy hot and entertaining.

A brother's best friend story, I really enjoyed the connection between Justin and Kim. They've been attracted to each other for a long time but have never acted on it because of the brother's best friend thing. But when they see each other at the club and Kim discovers Justin is a Dom, she's eager to learn. The sexy scenes were hot, the banter between them was great but how will their relationship go over with her brother? Great story and I loved every page of it!

Nice book. Intially didn't feel the connection or know either of them before they were doing it. I was more excited about Ali and Daniel because i could see the buildup in tension. Cant wait for their book. They started to feel real after the hospital. Some "scenes" didn't totally land but All in all a solid read.

What is the deal with an older brother thinking he can control his 32 year old sister? It almost seemed that Mark was obsessed with Kim at the way he tried to control her. I liked Justin and he was extremely patient as a Dom. Kim got on my nerves with her constant doubt. Plenty of steamy scenes but it started to drag. .

Kim and Justin are HOT! I love the brothers best friend trope and this one was amazing. Also, the BDSM elements were done so well here and the story of a new sub finding her place in the lifestyle with her lifelong crush…..I need more of it!!! So good, the smut was out of this world. The sass and the banter was too good. Honestly loved this book!!!

This is a steamy, well written brother's best friend romance. Not only is there a connection between Justin and Kim, it was easy to connect with the characters as a reader. I enjoyed the BDSM elements and what it added to the couple's dynamics.
