My dream job relies on one thing—taming Hollywood’s baddest boy.

DEE

Xavier Black is everything I hate:
- Arrogant
- Reckless
- Known to drop countless panties

And it’s my job to keep him in line.

How did this happen? One minute I landed my dream job as a First Assistant Director, and the next I’m babysitting some rock star-turned actor. A party boy who doesn’t even care about his own reputation, let alone mine.

Now my big break lies in his hands, and he seems more invested in getting under my skin than doing his job.

Oh… and did I mention he’s hot as hell?

XAVIER

There are three things I know:
1. The world thinks I’m a scoundrel
2. I am, in fact, not a scoundrel
3. I no longer give a crap; let people think what they want

So when I meet Dee, Queen of Sass, I let her think I’m a jerk. And hey… why not have a little fun while I’m at it? Ruffling her feathers is my new favorite sport.

Only the more time I spend with her, the more I want her to know the real me. Not the me in the tabloids…

It’s too bad she hates me.

Oh well… let the games begin.

The Rock Star is a dual POV, steamy, enemies-to-lovers rom-com with plenty of banter, tension, and a HEA worth swooning over. It's Book 2 of the Hollywood Heartthrobs series, but can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Dee is trying to climb the ladder in Hollywood and produce her own movie.

Xavier is a former Rock Star turned Hollywood actor.

Xavier is the HOT star of Dee's new project and Xavier is trying to figure out if Hollywood actor is what he wants to do for his career switch.

Dee is not nice to Xavier in the beginning. Xavier is lost and drinks too much, feels to much, and needs help. To get him to the set on time it is now up to Dee to be his babysetter.

Dee and Xavier grow closer and seem to have a good friendship forming despite their earlier indiscretions. Xavier has been blacklisted in the music industry, reputation of cheating badboy, and the tabloids just keep slamming him and giving him a horrible rep. Xavier feels everyone is judging him based on the lies and people don't stop to know the real Xavier. Xavier does not feel he should defend himself against lies and people who have not taken the time to know the true Xavier.

There are some steamy parts, some soft sweet parts and some funny parts. All in all a good read.

I actually really enjoyed this book. The characters acted relatable and made decisions that I (as the reader) could understand and were intelligible. I liked the main characters and the build up to their relationship. When the big plot twist happened, neither of the characters acted stupid, but rather like actual adults, which I often criticise in books.
I honestly don’t really have anything bad to say about this, but it’s one of those books you read and enjoy, but forget what happened a few weeks later.
I finished this yesterday and have already forgotten a lot. Though I have been reading a lot recently and it just might be me.
Would definitely recommend this! Especially as a book you could read in one sitting.

3.5/5 stars!!! Would give this 4 stars, but it just doesn’t compare to other 4 star reads I’ve recently read.

I liked this one more than the first one but there is something still missing from it. There is some choppiness to the plot on top of references that aren’t correct as well. I don’t think the bridge of writing the book taking place in California and the vernacular that is used is there. Now the characters in this book were so much better. There was a story with them and it made sense, it doesn’t mean there weren’t cringy parts but I liked this one better.

ugh. boy falls first? great, love it.

BUT THE MISCOMMUNICATION. the writing style. the plot. it felt very surface level, i didn’t feel their connection, like even at all. not a little bit.

not much to say other than xavier deserves better.

3/5: Cute But Not Great

I’m a sucker for any celebrity/non-celebrity pairing, which I’m sure is due to my belief that I will one day marry Zac Efron. This one was cute, but the character arcs all happened a little too quickly for me, and there were quite a few misspellings, which felt jarring while reading. Perfect for a quick beach/vacation read.
