After being invited to the Big Bear Birthday Bonanza, Squirrel must come up with the best present ever. He chooses the perfect-sized stick and wraps it up ahead of the party. However, when it is time to open presents, all the flashy ones come out first, leaving Squirrel panicking. Big Bear opens it, stares at the stick, and loves it. From there, it is a tale about the wonders of great friends and the best birthday present ever! Eyeing the present we have wrapped for a party this afternoon, Neo wondered if his present would be ok. I assured him that any child who received it would love it... and if not, have a second slice of cake!
Should I start only reading children books?😄... good children stories such as this cute story fills my heart with a great warm light that aids me even during my hard times better than adult self help books :)))) This story had a profound message of real friendship and being kind and acceptable like the bear rather than others who were questioning the gift. The illustration as well coveyed all the emotions and feelings and added a lot to the flow of the story.
This book is about a squirrel being invited to a bears birthday party. the squirrel looked for the perfect birthday present for bear and he found the perfect stick. he was nervous about giving into him but bear loved it. everyone else at the party was questioning the present but bear loved it and him and squirrel had so much fun with it. I love the message of this book so much. very good.
Can we all just agree now and for forever to stop unwrapping gifts during the party when guests are still present?! I know the message here is that imaginative play > expensive toys, but think of all the poorer kids in Squirrel's place who didn't get the positive reaction Bear gave in this story.
Funny story about a bear who receives expensive toys plus one perfect stick for his birthday. Beautiful colours, cute characters, a sweet friendship. Fun. So suited to kids—who doesn’t love playing with a stick?
Squirrel wants to get his friend Bear the perfect birthday present and finds just the thing. But at the birthday party, as Bear opens his presents, Squirrel starts to worry that his gift may be too little after all. What if it isn't what Bear wants? Did Squirrel get the right gift or will Bear be disappointed? This is a great story about giving a gift is a token of love and sometimes that can mean the simplest of things. Definitely recommend.
